no dragon age romance will ever compare to zevran arainai. he's bisexual. he was raised in a murder assassin torture cult after being raised in a brothel. he has a bunch of tattoos and even knows how to give them. he tries to murder you when you first meet him and then poses sexily afterwards. he says he's skilled at lockpicking and then never manages to pick a single lock in the entire game. he murdered his last lover after falsely believing that she betrayed the crows. he regularly slept with his marks before killing them to give them one last good night alive. when you ask him to have sex with you he says one liners like "arghhh pirate zevran reporting for duty!" he gets upset and broody when he realizes that he's in love with you after you ask him for more in your relationship. he proposes to you with an earring from a dead guy before he even tells you that he loves you. he's the only companion to almost completely stay with you after origins (besides the dlcs and parts of da2, he presumably stays with you the rest of your lives). if you die, he never gets into a relationship or has sex with anyone ever again. he constantly talks about you when he's away from you (da2). he calls the sword of the dead king of ferelden "sexy" and says that he "must have it". he's a devout andrastian. he loves being an assassin and doesn't feel bad about murdering people. you can have a threesome with him and a woman he used to sleep with and helped save from her abusive husband. he's slept with countless people and you're the first person that he's ever actually loved. he spends the rest of his life when he's not with you devoted to terrorizing the organization that abused him as a child (and adult) and killing of its leaders. when you tell him that you love him, he says that "he knows." he's blonde. and he's perfect in every way possible.

Falling to my knees
Fillip my belove!
Fly away, little crow
This is a short story of why Fillip disappeared for two years before the Veilguard, without warning his beloved siblings.
TW! Mentioning of blood and eye injury
"You're an idiot."
"You said it already."
"Apparently, not enough!" Viago's voice raised and Fillip winced, as it ringed in his heavy head.
Job supposed to be simple. He found trail of the mage, track him down, cornered him... Ah, right. Then he summoned the demon. Bloody thing took Fillip by surprise and scared his face. Flash of pain came almost immediately and blood ran out fastly, blocking the view of his right eye. Crow managed to avoid next hit, what could end him, and charged on the demon. He squeezed an axe in his left hand, holding back blood with the right one. While he was fighting, mage managed to slip away. Fillip would try and follow, but he knew what if blood won't be stopped soon, he will die before he say "Crows send their regards."
So he got to his safe spot, small room in Drowning District, patched himself up... And then Viago broke into the place. And screamed at him. And threw his dagger into the wall near Fillip's head. And then he cursed Crow again.
"I thought you are capable enough to complete such easy contract!"
"I am, just-"
"No 'just', Fillip!" Viago stopped him, before brunette had even a little chance to defend himself. "You embarrassed yourself back there, you embarrassed me, Maker, you embarrassed whole de Riva house!"
Fil hanged his head, not being able to look at his mentor. Man was right, he was always right. Crow let him, all of them, down. Hell, can he even call himself a Crow after such "performance"? Maybe Fillip should just be called a "failure" from now on... Viago probably wouldn't mind.
Man decided to look up at his Talon. Eyebrows frowned, not looking at him, arms crossed... He thought, he got used to seeing this expression since the childhood, after he failed times and times again. But it never got easier.
"You need to get out of the city. No one will know about this... Embarrassment."
"What about the target?" Fillip asked quietly, checking bandage on his face, what covered wounded eye.
"I'll send someone, after him, without telling it was yours. Maybe Aria. Or Heloise. Damn it, even fledgling would do better..."
"Yes, I got it," brunette said sharply, interrupting the Talon. He could be polite and quiet, but headache was getting stronger with every minute, and he wanted to be done with it as soon as possible. "I'll sleep through night and in the morning, I'll-"
"No. You're heading out now." Fillip paused and looked at his older brother with a wide eye.
"But... Viago, my things and injury." he could swear what man's eyes got softer when he took in the bandage, covering all right part of Fillip's face. But softness disappeared as soon as it showed up.
"You can handle it. Just grab whatever you have here and head out. I put on the map where you should go, new client will be waiting for you there." Viago handed him a rolled paper. "You'll need to be his bodyguard. I hope, this task you can handle."
Fillip nodded, but didn't get up yet. Viago didn't say anything about timings. Which could mean, what Fil will be away for Maker knows how long.
"What about our siblings? Can I say goodbye?" He asked, looking at brother with plea in his eye. Man took a deep breath and looked away.
"No," he said sternly. "Just go away as soon as possible. Write them when you get out of Treviso... And don't you dare mention anything about your failure."
Fillip felt how his heart broke and sharp pieces stung his chest, making it hard to breathe. He can't even warn little ones... What if they be worried? He hate making them worried. But...
But he swallowed any tears what tried to raise in him. He grabbed everything he needed for the first few days and went out of the room, not saying goodbye to Viago. If he couldn't say farewell to his siblings, what should include his older brother too, right?

To Prove Yourself - Faylen RRAU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 1,709  Takes place just a couple of days before Faylen's 18th birthday and a couple days before she leaves. Other people's characters mentioned Leo Amell - @seizethemage-main Diravas Mahariel - @alliminoobers
Tumblr media
The breeze, the feeling of the hilt of the sword in her hand, and her eyes on the target in front of her. Adrenaline coursed through her as well as the need to impress the woman standing across from her. The trainings with her Mamae was something she looked forward to every time. Her dark haired pulled back as she held a single large wooden sword, refusing to use an actual blade on Faylen even as the younger elf held one herself. The red Vallaslin causing Adahla’s face to look much more serious and furrowed than it usually did normally. This was it a moment she could do, she could convince the Warden Commander that she could join the wardens just like she had. All Faylen had to do was to win this training duel and maybe it would be enough, just maybe.
The Warden Commander watched her carefully, their matching deep brown eyes staring back at each other with the exact same intensity. She was waiting for Faylen to run in first, she always did. Hoping on the younger girls impulse control and impatience to be thin, as it so often was. Faylen tried, watching and waiting for her Mamae to make the first move. Trying not to focus on pieces of her blond hair slowly falling in her face, any moment of distraction opened her up and made it easier for her to lose this fight.
Silence stretched between them until finally one movement, one foot switch and Adahla charged taking Faylen’s shift in body language as an opening. The wooden sword rushed down at the blond elf but she moved her own blade up to block. Her arms feeling strained from the force of the larger sword and the way her Mamae would use it to her advantage. The next time Adahla lifted her sword Faylen moved out of the line of the sword, swinging her own at the warden commander. Too clumsy, and flimsy was her movements as Adahla quickly blocked with her armored arm causing a clashing sound before she turned and used her wooden sword to knock Faylen off her feet. Using her foot she stopped on faylen’s wrist, constricting her from using her sword as she pointed the wooden blade at her daughter. “You lose.”
There was a stubbornness in Faylen’s deep eyes, this was her moment her chance to prove something. In a couple of days she turns eighteen, in a couple of days she could join the wardens and she wanted her mamae’s approval for that. Her legs wrapped around Adahla’s as her free hand lifted up reaching for her wrist, pushing it up away from her. There was a moment of shock on the warden commander’s face and Faylen felt a sense of pride well up in her. She was slightly taller than her mamae but she was more nimble even so. Using the shock to her advantage she pulled Adahla’s leg causing her to fumble her hand losing it’s grip on her wooden sword and her foot lifting from Faylen’s wrist.
Quickly releasing Adahla and taking the wood sword as her own, she kicked her in the lower abdomen causing her to fall back before she quickly took back her own pointing it at her Mamae’s throat in triumph. “I think I won this time.” it was the first time she beat her. Slowly a smile crossed on Adahla’s face as the sound of a clap filled the space. Faylen’s ears lightly twitched, her gaze flickering over where her stepdad, Soris, stood with a smile on his face as he clapped.
“That was lovely Sunshine.”
Faylen lowered her sword and backed away from Adahla a big smile on her face as she watched the Warden slowly stand up. “That was wonderful Da’len.” Adahla spoke, lifting her hand to lightly ruffle her hair. “You are getting better, may surpass me one day.”
Soris walked over to join the other two Elves. His bright red hair was kept in a classic short cut. If there was a time to bring it up, it was now. “Do you think I could start warden training?” She watched her parents who exchanged a glance. Adahla's face turned sad and slowly Faylen felt her own smile slowly leave her face. Words didn't need to be said, she knew what her Mamae's answer was. “Why not? You said I was getting better. With warden training I could! I'm seventeen and it's not like I'll be alone. I'll have you, Uncle Leo, and Auntie Diravas."
“Fay…” The Warden exhaled, placing her hands on her hips. “I am sorry but you shouldn't be a warden. It's much more than you think and you're just… not ready even with Warden training.”
The excuse. You're not old enough, not ready, can't handle it, it's worse than you think, you can do so much better. She was sick of hearing them, sick of it all. Faylen wanted to prove herself and being a warden provided that. “How am I supposed to make my way through the world if you keep preventing me.”
“Sunshine-”
Sorris lifted his hand to place it on the young elf's shoulder but she brushed him off, cutting off his sentence “No! I'm sick of this. You talk about doing more in the world but you won't let me do the one thing that can help me do that!”
“Faylen that's enough.” Adahla's voice was stern as her gaze was harsh. “I told you, no. The wardens are not the place for you, you will find your way that isn't my path. I will make sure every recruiter is aware that Faylen Mahariel is to not be recruited unless they face my wrath. Do you understand me? I will find a way.”
The two elven women stared at each other, fire in their matching dark eyes. Their features and expressions resting in the same way. There was no escape that Faylen Mahariel was the daughter of the Warden Commander Adahla Mahariel. She couldn't speak. All she did was huff angrily, throwing her sword to the ground below them and storming off. Listening to the soft voice of her step dad speaking to her Mamae slowly fading in the background till it was gone as she entered their wooden house.
Faylen sat in her room, her legs pressed against her chest as her eyes looked down at the corner. It was one of many places that the family had resided in. It was rare for them to stay in one place for too long, mostly following Adahla and her aunt Diravas around the south where they were needed for Warden duties.
The sound of footsteps made their way down the hall, faylen pulling her legs closer to her when a soft knock was placed on her door “Sunshine?” Soris’ voice made her ears lightly twitch as the door slowly creaked open. Her eyes glanced over at him as he slowly walked into her room, closing the door behind him. “How are you feeling?”
“I don't get it.” She mumbled watching as he walked over and took a seat on the edge of her bed. His gaze was soft as he looked at her.
“I know sunshine.” He carefully patted the spot next to him inviting her to sit next to him instead of curled up far away. Against her stubbornness to stay where she was, she obliged by moving over to sit next to him, her feet setting down on the floor. “She just cares. There is alot she's seen, alot she knows and she wants to protect you as much as she can.” Faylen let out a scoff even as she tried to hold it in as best she could. “I mean it! No matter how old you get, you will be her little girl. Just like how you'll always be that little girl with blond braids who would grab on my leg when I would visit.”
Faylen tried to keep herself from smiling at the memory, a memory that was so hazy with time but it was there. “Yea yea.” She rolled her eyes. He nudged her lightly.
“I mean it! Even as I look at you, you stay the same. She just wants to make sure you don't have to go through what she did.” Slowly she looked over at him. The man that entered her life when she was three and stuck around since, the father of her little brothers, and the dad she needed. “Wardens have their secrets, I know so little but the things I do know. I wouldn’t wish you to have to bear them as she does.” He gently wrapped an arm around her and gave her a side hug.
“I guess…” she mumbled “what else am I to do?”
“I can't tell you Sunshine, that's your decision. But whatever you do…” his free hand reached forward, as he held a golden bracelet. “You can have this. For your birthday.”
“That's not for a couple more days.” She stated looking from the golden band at him. In response he gave her a shrug as he handed it to her. Carefully moving the bracelet in her hands, she caught sight of the design. Dalish by design and on the inside was an engraving keep shining, Sunshine. Mamae and Soris. “Thank you.” She smiled at him, slipping it on her wrist.
“No matter what you do or where you go. You'll have people waiting for you and who are proud of you.” He said before gently placing a kiss on top of her head. Standing up he patted her head walking towards her door and stopping “just remember, she cares and just wants to protect you.” With those final words he left her room.
She looked down at the bracelet on her wrist now, her other hand running across it to feel the engravings. There were many pieces of jewelry she had over the years, many made by Soris just as the one on her wrist was. This one felt more special than the others. It meant more, even if she treasures and loves all the ones he made her. It was an undeniable fact that the bracelet she wore now was her favorite.

Weishaupt Introduction
The Setup
After two weeks of rest, the agents return back to the lighthouse ready for the next steps. Prepared for whatever is to come next except just a day after they return Sargent Jin Connor of the Grey wardens along with the several other wardens gets notice from Evka and Antoine that the First Warden has requested the return of all Wardens back to Weishaupt. Where a horde of darkspawn seem to be approaching.
In a sudden rush the Wardens of the Lighthouse seemingly vanished without word, only a single note left in their wake by Warden Fisara written quickly and messily.
‘Weishaupt needs help. Can’t explain more. Sorry - F.E.M.’
With the ominous note left and the missing wardens, Rook spreads word through the agents Requesting their aid at Weishaupt. Where disaster and horrors await.
How it will be Handled.
The Grey wardens have already returned to Weishaupt under direct orders of the first warden along with Jin’s orders.
The Rest of the Agents will enter Weishaupt VIA Eluvian and will be more so focused on the ground assault of Darkspawn while Rook and Co. focus on getting to the Archdemon.
They will be spread out into small groups focusing on trying to take care of as much darkspawn as they can.
When Lucanis misses his shot all the agents including the wardens and even a couple of new wardens will rush to an Eluvian escaping just in time. They might be injured but they’re alive.
Weishaupt will be dealt with Via Stories and Art. There will be Post Weishaupt angst RP, Stories, and Art but during the assault it will be told through stories and art because that RP would be muddled and confusing.
Get your tissues ready and your emotional support pet/plushie ready. Weishaupt is going to be a doozy!

Not Before Me - RRAU
Here's somewhat angst! sorry guys I got to thinking and then I started cooking and I whipped this up.
CW: Implications of attempted suicide
Ages and Rooks
Aria - age 23
Fillip, @i-creatied-au - age 24
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9:47 Dragon, 4 years after Aria’s torture.
There were many high points in any Antiva City. a tower in Salle was Aria’s favorite. It had been her spot to run away when she needed to be alone and her room didn’t cut it and now she stood near the edge looking out at the city, seeing the de Riva estate from where she stood. Wind whipped past her, taking strands of her dark hair as her eyes looked out on the city with the sun slowly setting in the horizon. All she had to do was step off, let gravity take her down. It could be seen as an accident, a bottle of wine sat away from her. The story could go, she was drunk unaware how close she was to the edge before she slipped.
The city before her had been her home, or what could be close to a home. After her return from Tevinter though, everything felt wrong. Every way she acted was a face, everything she felt was fake, she was broken deep down with no way to be fixed and she was a failure. Spending four years indulging in getting wasted and company of others only made the voices disappear for a while, only letting the thoughts at bay for a moment until she was alone again or asleep reliving the nightmare that never left. She closed her eyes, letting the city disappear and feeling the wind. With a deep breath she prepared to take a step.
“Lovely view, don't you think dear sister?” her eyes flew open as her body tensed from the sound of the familiar voice of Fillip. She turned to look at him, removing any shock from her face as she did so. “I see why you come up here.” he let out a low whistle as his eyes looked out at the city.
“Yes, it is very remarkable. Especially when the sun begins to set.” she turned away from him, looking out to the sun as it was halfway down almost being fully gone. How did Fillip find her? And how much did he know? There was no telling, she kept herself calm and wiped any trace of her ideas, her thoughts away.
“Yes it is. You seem awfully close there. May want to take a step back. Wouldn’t want you to fall.”
Aria looked down at her feet, she was right by the edge just as she planned but now Fillip was there. Slowly she took a couple steps back letting out an awkward laugh “It appears I wasn’t paying attention. I get lost in the view sometimes.” she turned around to face him, a smile on her face as she spoke. Fillip’s own face held a very small smile but his eyes were not smiling, there was a deep sadness in them along with a determination.
“It appears so.” he walked over and stood by her, his gaze stuck on the view before them. “Though you were never one to not pay attention.”
“We all have our moments, Ermano.” her eyes stayed glued on him, needing to know how much he knew. What would he say? Why was he here? Fillip managed to find ways to Aria even as the years she closed herself from everyone focusing on work and nothing more. He would be there, ready to pop a joke or to try to convince her to relax. When Alecto was home she would do the same, but with the strained relationship between the mage and Viago she was rarely home for long.
“Not you.” he said, his tone dropping the playfulness as his smile dropped along with it. “What’s going on with you?” he turned to look at her “You are not alone whatever it is.”
Aria stared at him, unsure of what to tell him or how to tell him. There was once no secrets between her and her siblings much less Fillip. Coren and Heloise were nicknamed the twins and in a way Fillip was her twin. Now though, there was a distance one that Aria had made and continued to keep. “I do not know what you mean. I’ve just been focused and busy.”
Fillip let out a small huff in response as he crossed his arms “whatever it is, there is something better than dying about it.”
A silence stretched between them, as the two crows looked at each other. Fillip’s expression softened “Aria…” his voice was soft as he spoke.
“No. don’t give me any pity speech you have.” she turned away from him and walked away from the ledge creating space between them. She felt his hands grab her shoulder and turn her to face him.
“Aria no. I am not letting you run from this. Not completely. I won’t ask, I won’t pressure but there is no way in hell I will let you die before me. This is a promise I intend to keep.”
“There’s no point in saying such things.” she said, brushing her brother off. “I am fine. I just needed to have my head clear.”
His expression didn’t change, not buying her words but even so he did as he said and dropped it. “Well… I just got back into town, it would be nice to catch a drink with my dear sister.”
She looked off to the horizon. All that was left of the sun was the very tip of it still peeking out but even then, it was slowly retreating, disappearing until it would rise again and it would rise again. It seems she will be there to see it. “Yea… a drink sounds nice.”

sometimes i play around with the headcanon that the companions did ask Rook to join book club or to go camping or to hang out or any of the various things they do together - but Solas obscured it/erased it/controlled Rook's responses, in order to make sure Rook would feel more and more isolated and full of regret. eventually, after being turned down enough, he didn't even have to do anything anymore - they just assumed Rook didn't have the time or desire.
(very quick and dirty/cruddy comic to illustrate an idea, like most of my comics are lmao)
