Hey yall. Def don't take sharp turns at 45mph on your motorcycle only a year into riding.

Thank the gods I was wearing my helmet and jacket. Got some scrapes on my left leg that made contact with the ground and my left arm which my jacket rubbed against enough to give rug burn, and a concussion from my helmet bouncing off the road. All of this would have been much worse had I not worn my jacket like I had considered due to the heat.

If any of you ride, PLEASE dress for the slide and not the ride. Had I chosen to go without my helmet like my riding buddy did, or without my jacket like I thought I could have, I may be a lot worse off. Stay safe out there guys.

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

I think they confuse Dissociation with zoning out perhaps? Because from the outside it sometimes looks like we are just zoning out rather than internally dealing with annoying shit. Idk. But it is on them to educate themselves before throwing a term around if that is what they mean.

People who don't actually experience dissociation stop saying dissociating is comfy challenge go !!

Riding home today my mind was flooded with visual what ifs.

What if I just shifted to neutral and closed my eyes?

What if I just jerked the handle bars to the side?

What if I just kept going straight in the turn?

What if I maxed out the speed and squeezed my eyes shut?

Just what if I made one wrong purposeful move?

But then I went for another ride, the thoughts came back. So I stopped at a park for a while. The sky was pretty, there were geese and their babies. And when I headed home I saw something really pretty...

Fireflies. I saw fireflies in the wild for the first time. I'd seen one in the house before, but never softly shining in the middle of the grass. Or sparking among the trees. It was nice, calming, and it pushed the thoughts away with awe.

Idk just thought I'd share.
