My least favourite trope has to be cheating that leads to nothing. I hate cheating overall, but oml this shit.

Two characters who are apparently so in love and so attracted to each other they have to cheat on their partners (or one of them cheats on their partner), just so it leads nowhere and they have no chemistry and the whole relationship lasts shorter than an episode.

Willow and Xander pissed me off — Willow was over him + clearly in love with Oz and they kissed and then nothing happened. I mean Oz forgives Will and all, but all that did was split up Xander and Cordelia m, which good for her, because Xander was not a good guy, I hate him.

Same thing goes for George and Izzy, he cheated, she felt awful and the whole plot was so embarrassing and cringe to watch and they never became a thing, ruined their friendship, made Callie and George split for what?

I fear there are other more interesting way to split couples up.

YES. Honestly I dislike Bangel, just the fact that um idk he fell in love with a 15 yo??? but whatever…

As a Spuffy Shipper I hope Buffy is single, I hope her romantic life is not addressed especially since the reboot doesn’t need it! It’s about a different Slayer + Buffy probably being a teacher/mentor to her.

Fanfic writers will take matters into their own hands and write Bangel, Spuffy and Fuffy fics about the reboot.

My sparkle dies every time Sarah Michelle Gellar says she’s Bangel. For the love of God, don’t bring that into the revival.

the key difference between riley and spike is that both gave up their previously set beliefs for her and everything she showed them, but riley expected her love in return — as a condition for having given up his military career, until he didn’t get that, hurt her, and then still expected it until he gave up on her, on them — and spike didn’t. spike became a new man, first frustratingly so and fighting against it and then learning to accept it and give and give what he could for her, for dawn, taking every crumb and goading her into giving more but stalling and changing himself even more when he realised he’d hurt her and then waited for her to seek him out, keep seeking him out, and then just being by her side was enough (which got her to give him more.)

i was thinking about this lately, i never understood why everyone called her gay and a lesbian, because to me what she had with Oz was very real.

ok not to participate in something i've seen people arguing about. BUT. i think it's actually pretty interesting and telling about willow's character that she identifies as a lesbian. because we KNOW she is also attracted to men, but once she figures out she likes girls, she suddenly starts acting like she never liked guys in the first place. which yeah i know comphet is a thing but i don't think that's what that is. her thing with xander i could totally see as comphet but definitely not with oz. (and while i think trans oz headcanons are totally valid and not an issue in the slightest, i don't think there's enough in canon to make it a legitimate reading of the character, y'all i think he's just short and comfortable in his masculinity.)(it's fine if you disagree that's just so not what this post is about)

willow likes men AND women, but explicitly only refers to herself as a lesbian past a certain point. so i think ignoring that and just calling her bisexual shows a disinterest in who she is as a character.

somethings something her insecurity regarding her personal identity in relation to others. conformity. people-pleasingness. etc. she has emotional issues coming out of her ears and this can be interpreted as a symptom of many of them. yes biphobia was a present issue in the construction of the show i know i know. but in-universe, willow rosenberg made the decision to identify as a lesbian despite also liking men. and i think that that detail shouldn't be ignored in discussions regarding her character
