"Land of the free"
Tumblr media
Sadness and lonliness
Wandering around while contemplating the imposed individualism that got me here
It's become a comfortable place, changing it would be lonelier now, but maybe not
Maybe pursuing community wouldn't be that painfully hard

I found an older 50/50 cm acrylic painting. It was inspired by humans' origins as well as their dependence on in. I was thinking about nature and how life generates others who then depend on the first one to exist (in my interpretation, at least). The human in the painting is emerging out of its surroundings with who it is deeply intertwined, therefore not able to escape it or look at it objectively. They're able to create and change things as well, but only on the surface, for a limited period of time. They are the source of the green fume that they're releasing around them, choosing to ignore how it is inevitably going to have an impact on them as well, focusing only on creating more fume.
(Probably not the most clear interpretation of the painting.)

It reminded me of the projects of the first thinkers observing the processes of nature in order to determine how everything came to exist. They concluded that it couldn’t have appeared out of nothingness. Therefore, establishing that fundamental elements must have always existed and those led to the creation of everything else.
It reflects how people showed their fascination regarding the things that all life depended on: soil, air, fire, and water. Their surroundings influenced their mentality in more impactful ways, it being pretty unknown as well as unavoidable. Technological advancement allowed people a vay to have a more significant impact on their surroundings and to start to determine more of their limits.
You would think that all of these new possibilities would make resources more accessible from all points of view. You would think that it would guarantee the favourable conditions for all people. But it seems like other priorities have taken over by people who desperetlelly want to never have to come back to the past ever again. The focus is changed on short-term needs that don't allow efficient use of resources by maximising its potential to he fullest, because it doesn't align with those goals.
The results might not be so obvious, but they will inevitably show. All these desperate attempts will turn against not only the people who made them but on everyone else as well. When ignoring them will no longer be possible, people will be as restricted, if not even more, than at the beginning.
(It was an older and quick piece. I modified the description a bit because I felt that it was still interesting. Although the execution wasn't my best work, I wanted to get the concept out.)

Just finished this 50/60 acrylic on canvas painting and still thinking about the title.
The idea behind the painting was about artificial intelligence. The upper part is the humanoid body that the AI was put in. A human resembling body in the way it was meant to be precived as.
I got the inspiration by seeing the ai generated art. I thought it was fascinating as well as pretty shocking at first. The reflection resembles the way it was programmed to generate itself. Since it doesn't "know" what it's actually making it was creating very strange images when it firsts tarted. That inspired the idea of a distorted looking idea of self.
The way it is now, AI is making actual art. It's "taking inspiration" from already made art (in more or less ethical ways) and it interprets it in a different and somewhat experimental way. Though that will change with time. As it gets more and more accurate and better at what it's asked to do it will become only a tool and it will be no longer create "actual art".
I wanted to incorporate AI's limitations as well as dependence on humans. As it is supposed to create with what it's given and not innovate because it's not supposed to ask questions or defie. For now at least (and for my very limited understanding).
