the weather was perfect, and the ambience of love and sweetness filled the air. it was valentine's day. the streets weren't too busy, but you could still see people walking around with chocolates and presents in their hands, wrapped in passionate reds, making their way to their loved ones.

you were walking hand in hand with him, a smile plastered on your face as you made your way to your favorite makeup store. he watched in amusement as your pace got quicker and quicker the nearer the store got. he had woken you up with breakfast in bed and loving touches, telling you about all he had planned for the day, including a fancy dinner at your favorite restaurant. with that as an excuse, as well as the big discounts the special day had brought to the stores, you asked him to accompany you to go makeup shopping for tonight, and he agreed with a smile.

as you made your way into the store, you dragged him with you to your favorite brand, seeing as they had released a new collection of glossy tints. letting out an excited noise, you started looking at the available colors, picking your favorites.

"hmm, let's see," you whispered as you lifted the colored tube near his face.

"what are you doing, love?" he asked, confused, as you held up the different tubes to his face.

"testing which one will look good on your face, obviously," you answered, still keeping a serious face, and he had to hold back a laugh at your cuteness.

"alright then, let me help you," he played along and lifted one of his hands toward you so you could swatch all the colors you had selected on his skin.

after a few walks around the store, you got all you wanted to get, going to the cashier and watching him hold you back from getting your wallet so he could pay for you, resulting in a peck on his cheek as you walked out and started your way back home.

some hours had passed since you made it home, and you decided to test your new makeup before getting ready for dinner. taking out the tints you had picked up, you gently applied the first color on your lips before calling for him.

"you called, pretty?" he softly said as he opened the door to your shared bedroom.

"mhm! i need you to sit over here," you answered excitedly as you pointed to your dressing table. he quickly followed and sat, staring at you from the mirror, waiting for your next move.

he watched as you sat in his lap, facing his way and wrapping your arms around his shoulders, instinctively closing his eyes. your face leaned towards his as you pressed a peck onto his cheek, pulling away as you stared at the new rosy mark that shined on his soft skin. his eyes followed you as you wiped off your lips and applied a new color, leaning down again to kiss his face. soon, after many giggles, his face was covered by the shape of your lips in different shades.

"let's see which one is your color!" you stated as you pulled back a little to look at his face in detail, analyzing every little mark and trying to select which one complemented his skin tone best. while you observed, he looked at himself in the mirror and smiled like a fool.

"i think you missed a spot, darling," he chuckled and turned to meet your gaze.

every part of his face and neck was covered in pretty shades; however, you noticed his lips had remained untouched the whole time.

"oh, i guess i did," you answered with a cheeky smile and leaned down into him as he settled a hand on your back to pull you closer, making your chests collide and your hearts beat along with each other's.

your faces angled as your soft lips finally met his, fitting perfectly and moving in sync. you kissed endlessly, too enchanted by each other to let go. you finally parted with quick breaths, your hands on his chest and his hands going down your back to hold you steady.

you smiled at him with hearts in your eyes as you stared at his now messy pink lips that matched the flush in his cheeks.

"i think i found my favorite one."

"i'm home" you announce as you leave your bag on the table, but you don't receive the usual welcome "hello? kei?" you approach the bedroom, where you expect him to be, and he is, sitting by the edge of the bed staring at his phone. the only sound that fills the room is the music that's leaking out of his headphones.

"hey" you softly say as you approach him from behind, lovingly caressing his shoulder with your right hand, as your left one settles into his waist.

his gaze finally meets yours, and you can tell just by the look his eyes give you that today wasn't his day. his hands reach for his headphones after pausing the music and settling his phone aside. "bad day?" you whisper, moving both your hands to his upper back to massage his troubles away.

"hmm yeah, don't wanna talk about it now though" he answers, matching your lower tone. "want me to make you something? you must be hungry it's almost ten" you ask him as he starts to turn around. "maybe later, just wanna lay with you for a bit".

years ago tsukishima would've never imagined he'd be in the position he is today, leaving his pride aside and snuggling into your chest in the intimacy of your shared bedroom. if you had told him he'd be this vulnerable with you, he probably would've laughed. but seeing it now it makes sense, being able to show you his weakest sides without fear, knowing that all you'll do is make him better.

the sun was long gone, and the freezing air of the night danced around you, making you shiver with cold. you were waiting outside the school's gym after finishing with your own club activities. your boyfriend should be stepping out soon with the rest of his teammates.

you entertained yourself looking at your phone, checking messages and the new things your friends posted. your uncovered hands out of your pockets so that you could hold the screen comfortably.

"hey" a well-known voice suddenly greeted you.

"tobio, hi ! i was just waiting for you, i didn't hear you step out sorry" you apologize, being too caught up in your own world and having missed your boyfriend making his way to you.

"it's okay", he nodded his head "let's go?".

putting your phone in your pocket you nodded with a smile. out of the school gates you parted ways with his teammates and started walking towards your house. a comfortable silence settled between the both of you, and suddenly you had the urge to take his hand. without thinking twice you reached out for it making his steps cease.

"y/n your hand is freezing !" he exclaimed with slightly bigger eyes "come here".

he stood in front of you and took both your hands in his warmer ones. he then started to move them quickly against yours in an effort to make them warmer, finishing by raising your hands to his lips and giving them a soft peck.

he said nothing more, letting go one of your hands and intertwining the other with his own, putting them inside his coat's pocket as he started to pick up the pace again.

you weren't able to say a thing, too stunned by his sudden sweet action. the whole way to your house, you kept stealing glances of his face, your cheeks bright pink and a your heart loudly beating.

safe to say you didn't feel cold anymore.

akaashi keiji ⭑.ᐟ

"ouch ! hot" you let out as you put down the cup filled with the hot tea that made you squeal in pain.

akaashi looked up to you with a concerned face, settling aside the book he was reading "too hot? sorry i should've warned you" he softly apologized, raising his hands to your face, cupping it gently "whatever shall i do to make it up to you".

giggling at the dramatics of his voice you told him not to worry, he was forgiven. his hands left your face after landing a peck on your forehead, opening his book again "okay then, be careful".

thirty minutes later he reached out for the teapot to refill his cup only to find it empty. standing up to head towards the kitchen, he directed his voice to you "i'm gonna make more tea, which one do you want?", no response "sweetheart?". he turned around and found you sleeping over your homework. letting out a chuckle he put the teapot back to its place and leaned down to you, getting the strands of hair off your face to observe your sleepy features better.

slowly, you awoke due to his soft touch. "keiji?" he hummed, acknowledging you. "sorry i must've fallen asleep".

"you must be tired, staying up all night studying" he comforted you "let's go take a nap, hm?" he concluded and picked you up in his arms, walking to his bed and laying you on it.

you turned to your side, looking at him as his fingers grabbed the end of his shirt and threw it up his head, abandoning it somewhere in his room. "it's hot", he excused.

he laid down by your side, sneaking an arm under your waist to pull you towards him. his unoccupied hand softly grabbed your jaw and lifted your face towards his, leaning in for a soft kiss. "get some rest ".

you couldn't sleep for the first twenty minutes, your face hot against his bare chest and your heart beating hard against your ribcage. the smell of him filled your senses and one of his hands had sneaked under your shirt to softly caress your skin. once you calmed your beating heart you were able to fall asleep and dream by his side.

if only he knew the effect he still has on you after all this time.
