Santa’s Tonic printable label is perfect for you and your children to prepare a treat for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Download and print the label, then use glue to attach it to a bottle.   If you have blank printer labels they will work also. The download includes various sizes of labels so pick the one that best suits your the size of your bottle.  Fill the bottle up with a thirst quenching beverage of your choice and leave it for Santa on Christmas Eve. Santa is sure to need a drink with the heavy work that he will be doing on Christmas Eve. Mince pies and a carrot for Rudolf are optional extras!

Free Vintage Astronomy Images

This is a set of eight gorgeous vintage astronomy images free to download.

The images are public domain and are free for personal or commercial use.

These antique paintings were made from astronomical observations made between 1872 – 1880.  The level of detail captured in the paintings such as the canyons of Mars, a solar prominence and the Great Red Spot of Jupiter is very impressive considering the limitations of telescopic equipment of the time.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, North America, Australia, western Asia and most of the Pacific Ocean will be treated to a full lunar eclipse in which the moon takes on a reddish hue as it passes through the Earth’s shadow.

We borrowed this moon image from The moon hoax, or a discovery that the moon has a vast population of human beings, an 1859 book that compiled the original six articles published in The Sun in 1835. A century before H.G. Wells’s The War of the Worlds induced panic about a Martian invasion of New Jersey, these six articles helped grow The Sun’s readership dramatically and establish it as a major New York newspaper.
