I just don’t like drawing them anymore!! After a while of getting comms for it, it became something that I found more frustrating than fun, and it made commissions seem like a chore rather than something I wanted to do, which didn’t feel good! For that sake, I decided to stop taking commissions for it

Drawing in that style or drawing for those characters just wasn’t the same; I still like ROTTMNT as a franchise! I just don’t like drawing it anymore

So...not to sound rude or anything, but what's the plan now?

You said you had one you'd share yesterday, but I fail to see how selling a few plushies will get the funding needed for this (I'd love to be wrong, though).

Again, no hard feelings, but it's all so uncertain now.

We shared our planned, we have a merch store. We've made 1k in a day, and we are continuing to grow in sales. This has stayed consistent, and we are confident that this source of income continuing to grow will help our studio for the better. We aren't selling plushies yet either, but they will go up for pre-order in the next 2 weeks or so. It has nothing to do with making 90k from merch sales. It has more to do with making money to pay our team on the regular, not "raise 90k." Please reread the posts I have responded to for context. This is the last time I'm answering questions about our decision, thank you!

What do you mean by fraudulent donation? What does that mean? (Sorry new to Kickstarter)

Fraudulent donation as in a donation that was to be canceled; basically a trick a lot of 10K donators did to make it seem like we were close to our goal.

You’re correct, I know you wouldn’t have gotten the money if you didn’t reach your goal. What I don’t understand is that you still had time. It hadn’t reached the amount yet, right, and maybe you guys thought it wasn’t looking like it would. But you still had time, and extensions are possible.

It sounds like y’all either decided to give up before the end, or wanted to save money on Kickstarter fees and taxes (which is valid honestly.)

We had found another fraudulent 10K donation, meaning we were technically sitting at 50K out of 90K; seven days isn’t enough to reach it, especially considering how many people began pulling out donations.

It isn’t us giving up and rather us beginning an alternative route for the better, as regardless of if we took the seven days, we wouldn’t have reached our goal.

Even if we raised money and followed the Kickstarter to completion, we would not have received any funds for it; it’s either all or nothing. We have to raise funds through merchandise for now.

Wait, I’m confused…you said here you cancelled the Kickstarter for your mental health, but on Twitter you said your Kickstarter was “cancelled for good reason” which was to “ensure our incredible team gets compensated”?

Isn’t that what the Kickstarter was for? Wouldn’t you have been able to compensate your team with the Kickstarter money AND the merch if it succeeded?

But you retweeted someone talking about Kickstarter taking a chunk of the money…did you cancel it so you wouldn’t have to pay the KS fees and taxes? (Genuine question I’m just trying to understand.)

When you don’t hit the goal you don’t get the money. The merch store is around to make money for the team now.
