And Another Thing...
Because actually, the more I think about it, the more it just pisses me off...
If The main writer wanted this to just be a simple formulaic "magical girl powa" kids show that sells merch. With no overarching story plot.
MLB could've just simply BEEN that. A cutesy Sailor Moon inspired story!
MLB could've just BEEN an all female superhero team with Marinette as leader, Alya second in command, and Chloe and/or Kagami being her love rivals/friends for Adrien's affections.
And Adrien could literally just BE THE DAMN LUKEWARM LOVE INTEREST that she wins in the end. Because the Deuteragonist of this show, sure as shit ain't been him since at least S4, let's be so for real.
Nothing against Alya, I love her, but girlfriend has overshadowed what used to be Adrien's role.
But in this version of MLB, being an all girl team of superheroes with a secret identity. Marinette's absurd 'whacky' antics in this show could easily be ignored/deflected/handwaved away, if we never knew much about Adrien outside of him being a popular, good looking rich kid, whom Marinette crushes on and daydreams about often.
And TA doesn't have to twist himself into a pretzel to defend his poor writing choices, when the only POV that matters is Marinette's.
There would be no need for the lore, or vaguely changing it when he feels like it. Or worrying about the unnecessary drama of the whole 'they can't know each others identities' main plot that has all become meaningless.
The original main plot of the whole secret identities for romantic drama and the reason many of us were drawn to this show to BEGIN WITH, is moot when the writer constantly refuses to do ANYTHING with the setup he writes for himself.
He won't let none of his characters have any real development and growth and only seems to care about ONE-HALF of the original two man team.
And I'm over it. 4 episodes and a lame ass Special that literally excuses the main heroine's reasons for LYING to her One True Love has shown me this show is NOT interested in doing anything beyond what it's given.
All of us invested or holding your breath for any real progress with the romantic/main subplot are going to be waiting for naught.
I was already convinced but now I'm certain:
There will never be a big reveal. And if there is one, it'll be purposely left to the VERY end of the series. And it won't even be satisfying.
Nothing will EVER be done with the Lie. Why should it? Marinette finally has the boy she wants, and even if it ever got addressed, the writer would handle it in the most contrived way possible that somehow excuses Marinette's decision anyway.
How much you wanna bet, he'll just end up retconning his own story to SOMEHOW scapegoat Marinette's bullshit to be Lila's fault?
Or Chloe's? Because even when she's not around, not in the same school, city, or even country, the writer STILL finds a way to hate on Chloe.
No...wait even better! Adrien finally finds out and to avoid allowing Marinette to own up to her fucking mistake/betrayal of trust, she decides to 'sacrifice' her memories and being Ladybug...and oh my fucking god.
......This is why TA had Marinette entrust Alya as the new leader isn't it? He thinks he's so goddamn clever!
Marinette's gonna fuck up big time in this season and then get temporary or semi-permanent amnesia to forget EVERYTHING to avoid owning up to her mistakes?
And instead of people seeing the manipulative writing to handwave away how she's been very selfish and self-centered, and her need to control everything. People are going to praise TA for believing or redeeming her bad decisions/behavior on how much she was finally willing to 'sacrifice' herself for a change for Adrien.
*groans*....god this sounds even worse.
You know what, this post had a point and I spiraled again.
Oh yeah...MLB should've just been another inspired typical 5 teamed magical girl knock off because hoping the writer does anything worthwhile with his Deuteragonist, is just waiting for Levithan to reveal itself from the deep, dank, ocean depths, and in this timeline the world's in rn, that's actually more plausible than hoping for meaningful character arcs after 6 seasons of MLB...

Miraculous Ladybug...
This is a long winded rant, I do not glaze your favorite mary sue here! If you whine on this post, I'm blocking on site!
You've been warned!
....I said I wasn't going to watch season 6 onward but ya know, this show is like a trainwreck you can't look away from.
I...I really don't know if I have the energy and/or mental bandwidth within me to make a tl:dr rant from what I've watched so far.
But the only way to express my all encompassing feelings at this moment is:
I KNOW YOU FUCKING LYING!!!!
Because What the ACTUAL Fuck?!
*sighs*
Watching this show is just PAINFUL from a writing prospective ATP regardless of the supposed aged group it's created for.
Because there is a LOT of plot points worth being explored and expounded on to make something great.
Like, srsly, MLB has potential. But it's greatness is unfortunately being held hostage by the hands of an individual with an ego the size of the sun that couldn't (and probably still CAN'T) take even the tiniest bit of legitimate critique, from anyone not praising this show as the second coming of Christ himself.
Even as this show has managed to SOMEHOW get this far into a 6th season...
Even if I were to ignore (hell I forgot a LOT of shit from the fuckery that was season 5 and it's "Glorious Conclusion") the chaotic mess of the previous season.
If...IF the writer of this hodgepodge could just GET OUT OF HIS OWN FUCKING ASS and just tell a consistent decent story, it could be possible to salvage this mess.
For many, it's too damn late, and honestly, I don't think I'm that invested to stick around for the rest of it.
When the very first few episodes and a special already are shaping up to be another repeat of s4 and 5 on steroids.
I am not here for the writing to not allow Marinette to actually GROW as a character.
Or excuse the things she does without properly calling out her poor behavior.
I am DEFINITELY NOT going to stick around for another damn season of let's SIDELINE Adrien/Chat Noir who never gets a say in his own character arc/development! As Marinette/Ladybug girlboss' into the sun without any consequences.
At least his suit design has more character to it *snorts*
This show continually stays infuriatingly inconsistent because the main writer can't make up his damn mind on if it should be episodic or have an overarching story and is trying to do both and is failing expeditiously at BOTH and refuses to acknowledge his grand fuck up!
As curious as I am about Lila's rise to villainy, and my god, it's actually the only thing that's good about this season so far, imhao.
I just cannot stick around when I know the story won't even touch the drop of juicy DRAMA and tension it has with the main couple!
And it just BUGS ME and has bugged me GREATLY that this writer presents a great plot for drama for the lovesquare: Marinette lying to Adrien about the real truth, AND the fact that neither still knows the other's identity.
And nothing is going to come out it or be done with it because for some reason, Marinette is not allow to have any true consequences and Adrien is not allowed to be more than a romantic set piece for a character with serious control issues and borderline Yandere tendencies; that in other shows and in another context would be my jam.....But this ain't that kinda show, so it comes off as...ugh I gotta say it: 'cringe', funny (if you turn your brain off and/or forgot any of the plot/subplots, which you know probably doesn't even matter anymore in the grand scheme of things. So hell, maybe this rant is moot) but still fucking cringe!
Oh look, I ended up shouting into the void with another tl:dr rant about writing.
Yeah, I don't have anything else, as always, I guess if I ever get around to it, I'll write a damn fanfic. *sighs* (I'm tired of having to go to fix-it fics or writing one myself because UGHAKSAJDKSFJDS, WHY MUST PEOPLE'S EGOS OR FAN INTEREFERENCE ALWAYS MAKE WRITER'S FUMBLE THE BAG WHEN THEY HAVE ALREADY CREATED GOOD POTENTIAL SUBPLOTS TO WORK WITH!!? TF!)
ANCESTORS/SPIRIT GUIDES/GUARDIAN ANGELS! MAY THIS LEVEL OF INCOMPETENT WRITING NEVER FIND ME, ONG! 🙏🏾

My Hero Series Finale...
How I feel overall...
Tumblr media
I could write a long tl:dr rant but...this series had already dropped in quality for ME, ever since the FIRST war arc.
And aside from the short lived 'Solo Deku Arc' it was just one disappointment after disappointment.
= It was rushed, and sloppy.
= NONE of the themes that were established, went anywhere.
=Consequences? What Consequences?!
=New Characters just came and went so fast that I didn't have time to care about them at ALL.
=Class 1-A being a found family....SIKE!! Deku's only important unless he has a quirk. LOLOLOL
Just to list a few things wrong about this.
*sighs*
So the series ending how it did, isn't really all that surprising to be honest.
Izuku's character was always treated like pure ass by the narrative, so of course nothing would change when it came to the end.
I feel indifferent. I also find it HILARIOUS because I was right to trash on this manga because it's trash.
Baby got a regular 9 to 5
But at LEAST he beat the ugly ass hair-cut allegations.
Welp, guess I might write my own fix-it fic when I have the time, its been a long time coming.
And yet, here's ANOTHER example of how NOT TO WRITE A FUCKING STORY!

....About that Attack on Titan Series...
Well, well, well......I wasn't going to make this post, but fuck it, we here and I feel like ranting into the goddamn void, it's been a WHILE.
If you enjoyed this series from beginning to end and don't have the emotional maturity to understand that I don't fucking LIKE THIS SHIT. DO NOT REPLY
I don't have patience and I will block you on sight! As we fandom old's say: Don't Like? Don't Fucking Read!
Anyway onto the rant...
it's June 2024 and I finally after so many years, watched this show because it was recommended to me and I brought into the hype because I had NO IDEA just how derisive S4 and the series finale actually was back in the height of it's day.
I had always meant to eventually get around to watching the show and maybe even reading the manga alongside it, but as the years passed, I just never found the urge to pick it up.
And now that I have, after believing the show was great from beginning to end...
GOD, I sure wish I could get back the time I spent watching the entirety of Season 4, that Finale, and feeling utterly annoyed that a writer chose to end their story on such a nonsensical plot.
In fact, I sort of wished I never bothered at all to be quite honest.
The short of it: Seasons 1 to 3>>>>>>Season 4 and that awful ass Finale.
Very unfortunate too. This is just another case of 'great ideas, bad execution'.
And I'm not sorry but the more I think about it, the more I just cannot turn my brain off, suspend my disbelief and gaslight myself into accepting season 4 and that fucking finale as peak writing.
That shit was awful, the fact that seeing the latest interview from the creator himself, just reaffirms how strong the author's intent was when writing this last arc!
It wasn't the fact this was bad on accident, or that the creator ran out of ideas, OR the story got too complicated and complex, OR that he couldn't commit to what he already established in earlier seasons.
If his words are to be taken at face value from that interview:
It's not that this guy is a bad writer, Attack on Titan's last arc's messy writing:
-Plot holes and too many subplots that go nowhere
-Last minute ass-pulls and Deus Ex Machina that make no damn sense.
-Adding time travel-esque powers out of the blue, and it amounts to nothing in the end.
-Never giving an actual satisfying reason why Eren *couldn't defy his fate*.
--We not gonna talk about his mom...
-I'm not gonna bitch about that Ymir subplot about her loving her abusive ass slave master/husband, after what was already established before this point was fine by itself...nope, not going there...
-That god awful confusing asf 4yr time skip. (listen, I don't know NOR do I care at this point, if this time skip was elaborated on in the manga. This was just a poor attempt to hand wave away the obviously inconsistent switch OR lack of development to the characters I followed since ep 1.)
-The stagnation of already established characters we were with since the beginning and basically being replaced by new characters: the MINUTE the Marley characters took center stage, something in me just KNEW, the original crew were being replaced but hoping to GOD I WAS WRONG. --Turns out my gut feeling was correct and it makes me dislike these character more than I already did.
--Yeah, I really did not care AT ALL for the Marley crew. There's just something about shoehorning in new characters that I have no attachment to and telling me, they are now the real protagonists (who get sudden plot armor and make it alive by the end, with no real consequences...in a series that had no qualms about killing just about 90% of the characters I actually gave some fuck about and knew since ep 1 feels very contrived.)
-The unnecessary death of fan favorites that amounted to NOTHING
--I'm not...I'm just going to leave THIS ONE ALONE because I'll be here all fucking DAY and boy I'm doing enough ranting as it is.
~If You Know, You KNOW!~
-I'm not going to rant about the female characters because 1. we'll be here all day, 2. to be fair: most of the characters sort of fell flat regardless of gender anyway. (But I def get that the female cast in particular was done so dirty in the last arc. It's one thing for shounen writers to write one dimensional female characters...you have to be some kind of SPECIAL to create two-dimensional, even three-dimensional female characters only to downgrade them to their lowest common denominator. THE AUDACITY, THE INSULT TO MY FUCKING INTELLIGENCE!)
-I'm not going to bother about the shipping: it's obvious that a certain ship was going to be canon but god, do I really need to bitch about the utter lack of meaningful development to get it from point A to B?
--Then again, maybe it was supposed to be toxic? Lord knows it fits well into the clusterfuck of the last arc of this story.
--Honestly, I was more into a non canon ship that developed thru friendship naturally onscreen anyway, so I have no horse in this race.
-The BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM of mixes messages, that maybe, certain extreme ideologies are correct and justified.
--Yeah, we gonna leave this one alone too...Honestly because this is actually the one thing I don't think was intentional, even if the blatant implications of it are there...and I don't want to make assumptions of the man's politics and what he believes, and his worldview (outside of his personal feelings about himself), I don't know him personally.
--I will however, rant to high hell and I do think he utilized and underutilized the allegory he borrowed from real life history; which led to the unfortunate 'Fantastical Racism' that happens in AoT.
--The slaughtering of poignant thematic themes, period!
--That bad ending (not that it's tragic per se, but just thematically bad).
~~Are you starting to see a pattern??~~
ALL THIS TO SAY:
He didn't WANT to allow his story to progress 'naturally' in the direction it 'wanted to go'.
Isayama didn't want to commit to anything he established. The story is the way it is, because he INTENDED it to be this way.
Eren fails to be a great hero OR antihero (depending on how one sees it) because Isayama doesn't think he, himself is a great person even if others tell him he is. (Ring a Bell?)
And I think it's a hard pill for a lot of people to swallow. Your time was wasted theory crafting, giving the creator the benefit of doubt, all for him to basically say, because he suffered from a serious case of 'Imposter Syndrome', you are an idiot for ever thinking this story was great, was suppose to be more than it is, and that his success isn't earned because he doesn't feel that way and you have to feel that way too.
The creator wanted a nihilistic, myopic, depressive ending. Worldbuilding, lore, cohesive storytelling be DAMNED, because he let his negative feelings about himself bleed way too much into his work.
He wanted the message if there was one at all: there's no point in putting hope in humans because 'we're all just trash anyway', people will always fight, good people shouldn't sacrifice their lives to help humanity or put any hope into humans evolving to change our ways, so why try to find another way, and maybe 'Hitler was right'.
It gets worse when the creator HIMSELF, out of his OWN MOUTH, stated; if he WANTED TO, he could have given the story a better proper send off. He knows what he wrote, and he knows that the natural, better progression of the story he created would have been better received by the fans and critics alike, if he allowed it to go in that direction, but he didn't want that.
Granted: I'm all for writers doing ultimately what they want with their stories, for better or worse.
But that's not what he wanted. And that's what I take from all of this.
However what pisses me off, is that he should have been HONEST about the story/themes/message he wanted to portray from the start.
I don't have a problem with tragic, depressive tales and it's themes, if it is done right. This was not done right and we know it wasn't, because you can look at past and even present discussions and arguments throughout this fandom and see that people have valid reasons to be very upset. (No one likes for their intelligence to be insulted when the story takes them out of the immersion to the point, that the critical thinking jumps in, and now a person is starting to realize that a lot of writing choices that they ignored before, because the story was still good, are now flaws. Stories don't have to be PERFECT, but once those flaws can't be ignored, people begin to see them as the red flags that they are. We might be hopeful, that these flaws or plot holes will be course corrected at some point, but we will not ignore, when we see the trajectory of a story's plot going downhill to the point of no return. AoT's story went beyond the Point of No Return...ON PURPOSE!)
What grinds my gears about this entire situation is that, we have a creator here, who purposely build up a story, world, characters, and themes that the audience expected would follow through and make sense, given what we have of the story.
Only for the creator to fail spectacularly by trying to fucking subvert the audiences' expectations, and seeming to really not give a damn that it's what he wanted to do from the start.
Despite whatever issues he feels or has about himself, it sours whatever sympathy I may have for the guy, because in a way, what he decided to do of his own free will, seems very jaded and quite narcissistic...
I SAID WTF I SAID
It's the audacity for me.
People were lead on, lied to, and wasted their time for nothing.
Character motivations, deaths, sacrifices, the themes, worldbuilding, all of it, amounted to NOTHING.
We were idiots to put good faith into the author. We were idiots to think, this story was worth it. For some of us, it felt like a slap in the face if you were an original fan since the story's inception and honestly, your resentment for sticking with it til the end for ten plus years for an unsatisfying bullshit finale is very valid.
TL:DR: AoT's ending is trash because the Author wanted it to be trash, and that's really, unfortunately what it all amounts to.
Soo, yeah, I don't think I can really say much more than that.
Man should have just stuck with Keeping It Fucking Simple Simon and just ended the story where literally everybody dies from fighting giant ass flesh eating zombies called titans.
Okay NOW I'M DONE WITH THIS!
Edit: GOD, and here I thought I finally fallen into another great shounen on the same level as FMA:BH after the constant disappointment, that is MHA's last arc.
...Maybe I'm getting too old for anime, at least 'shounen'....idk...anymore
At least Spy x Family can't hurt me...

BnHA...Rant...Sort of...
I was trying to wait until the series finished but I feel like adding two cents worth of salt right now.
I won’t say, BnHA is terrible, but it hasn’t been really all that great either. I still enjoy it and it’s still fun to have the show replay in the background while i’m doing something else when bored. It’s also fun to see people’s reactions to the show.
However, I can’t help but feel like the story has lost some of the mojo it had in the beginning.
Again, I don’t claim to know or think I know better than Hori what he ultimately decides to do or how he wants to go about writing his own story.
But IMHO, it really feels like he wanted to have his cake and eat it too with the overall conflict in his story and it feels jarring if not very satisfying. We know this because even before I got into the series, this fandom seemed already split.
I mean, fandom is going to fandom but the general criticisms (ones not salty that their fanon headcanons didn’t come true) I have seen is the handling of certain characters and story arcs.
Which I have to agree with in some regard.
What I mean by ‘Have his cake and eat it too’
Horikoshi on one hand seems like he wants to tell a deep complex compelling story, at the same time, writing the typical battle shounen that isn’t meant to be that deep.
And I think this is what frustrates people. I personally don’t mind if BnHA was ‘deep, dark complex, etc’ but I also don’t mind it being a run of the mill shounen either. It could have easily been both but I personally think the author fails to deliver on this honestly.
IMHO, I think this is one of those moments where the author should have stuck to one and tried not to do so much.
I say this because Hori introduces heavy topics, in the very beginning for our main protagonist’s origin story but then those issues are never brought up again, and if they are, they are treated as non issues (or comedic gags that if one can’t remove the bullying Izuku suffered under Bakugou, just comes off in bad taste).
You can’t have it both ways. If Hori wanted the ‘rivalry’ between Izuku and Katsuki to be treated as your typical rivalry in every other shounen, he shouldn’t have even introduced their relationship the way he had. (Katsuki could have still been an asshole character/rival without the bullying).
This is why on one hand: There’s people who don’t think the relationship between Katsuki and Izuku is all that serious, while you have people who thinks the opposite is true and are rightfully upset/frustrated that there’s no pay off to be had even now as far as current manga chapter 342. Because the author couldn’t be assed to stick to a writing conviction without waffling around with his own characters and arcs, despite him deciding along the way to change his mind. (There’s also the hot topic that because of his favoritism of Bakugou, the story falls weak on expanding on other characters that in all honesty, desperately needed the character development. But good well rounded character development can also go flat too when you already start out with a large cast of characters, it gets worse when an author starts to favor one or two characters outside of the main character, when the story has no reason for the ‘writer’s pet’ to even be present, this is even worse still when said character(s) are written to getaway with things that the narrative established they shouldn’t getaway with).
This is the reason why I personally do not like any of the villains at all.
Except for All For One, that fucker amuses me to no end and I think I only like him because Hori has not yet tried to woobify him like he did the rest.
Hori introduces grey morality, which is fine. I like grey morality, I even enjoy characters, protagonists and villains alike when they’re showered in grey morality and are humans with flaws.
The problem for me is again, Hori tries to throw in shades of grey but still writes in black and white.
In other words; He wants to have it both ways. You can’t tell me Hero society is corrupt and the villains might have a point, when you aren’t really showing me this is in fact true. While no society is not without its flaws. BnHA has only shown me:
A) Regardless of their reasons, regardless of things like quirk discrimination (especially when the author fails to address this as a societal problem/treats it as a non issue) Heroes are still shown to be inherently good and society doesn’t seem all that corrupt.
B) With the argument of maybe Stain’s reasons, your not showing me much of anything the LoV wants to do to change society. All I get from them is they want to destroy it because unfortunate tragic backstories. *shrugs* It’s rather weak.
‘Everyone has a sudden tragic backstory’ is not enough to get me invested in what Tomura and the LoV are doing. They had already annoyed me, (but when they were just shown to be villains who enjoyed being villains that was okay) but this need to make them all of a sudden sympathetic is jarring to me when I have yet to see anything from them in all of the 300+ plus chapters that would imply they can feel things like, remorse, guilt, empathy, or even compassion for anyone, outside of their little group. Or even the willingness to change for the better. (See, Gentle Criminal and La Brava)
They are not vigilantes, they aren’t ‘well intentioned extremists’ with moral ambiguity. So the eventual redemption/atonement this story is trying to force me to accept is not going to have a good pay off. It just seems wholly uncharacteristic to all of a sudden have Deku/the young heroes redeem the LoV, after all the destruction they caused and is shown to actually impact these characters.
So, Like Gran Torino said: Fuck them kids.
This is worse when you factor in, with the exception of Endeavor, (whose not a corrupt hero, he’s just a shitty father/husband but he’s damn good at his job, REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT HIM) where is the corruption? And I’m going to stop you right here if you try to come at me about stuff that happens in the Vigilante manga. I should not have to go read a separate story (written by another person mind you with Hori’s blessing btw) that explains how corrupted Hero society really is (if it’s even brought up at all in that series).
The moral ambiguity of Hero society should have came up I’ll say fuck, if not season 1 at least with the later half of season two, especially when we had the Stain fight. This would have been a good time to start to introduce the HPSC as this corrupt gov agency which would have really shown that okay, maybe Stain isn’t some hypocritical raving lunatic that’s a cold blooded murderer, he has a point and maybe we can really say, the corruption of hero society led to him turning out the way he did.
We also should have gotten more ambiguous heroes to really balance out this whole moral conflict.
Waiting this late in the story to try to make these things matter feels like weak writing. It’s not going to have as much as an impact as say the All For One vs All Might fight did for me. While I have confidence Hori will pull off memorable fight scenes for the final showdown (because he’s really great at that and I cannot wait to see what he does) unfortunately, the story’s end isn’t going to be as great as I think it could be or was meant to be (unless he does something to make me eat my fucking words and I will gladly eat my words) but as it’s looking now, I really doubt it.
I have the same issue with the UA traitor subplot. I don’t have a problem it waited this late to be revealed. But it feels like a cheap ‘shock moment’ with no pay off. If this subplot was sprinkled throughout the story as something that’s serious, or even at one point had the students start questioning if there’s really a traitor. Only to come out with nothing, then I think this reveal would have been more impactful but that’s just me.
In conclusion: BnHA is a story that might have started out being more than your typical shounen but in the end turn out to be a typical shounen to the surprise of no one and to the frustration of many. (unless BnHA was your first rodeo into anime/manga than I feel for you).
TL:DR version, if you’re not going to stick to your writing convictions to delve deeply into mature subject matters, when your focus is just writing a simple cool fighting action story about good vs evil, maybe...don’t delve too deeply into moral ambiguity and introducing mature subject matters in your story when you decide to not treat them with the nuance and maturity they rightfully deserve. (No matter how much you change your mind along the way in writing a story.)
That’s all I sayin.

BnHA 322...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Goddamn what a missed fucking opportunity this entire arc was.
Now that the ‘high emotional tension and drama has died down’ I guess we now move along to the final boss, huh Horikoshi?
And Noooo...making legitimately, scared, uncertain, and angry civilians who probably have had loved ones die in this war and were told apparently. that Izuku is the Big Bad’s real target and not wanting him at UA because he poses a threat to their safety suddenly bad people/soft targets for fans with blinders on to ridicule is just straight up, lazy, uninspiring, and frankly hamfisted writing.
*Sighs*
You know at this point, I’m honestly just waiting for All For One to waltz up to UA for Izuku like it’s just another Tuesday for him next chapter.  While at the same time, making the scared citizens right about bringing Izuku there in the first place.
I’m not in the mood to share a really tl:dr post right now...I’ll wait to see what comes of this anticlimactic mess in 323.

So…About BnHA 320…
I am laughing and crying and crying and laughing…like a part of me wanted this and another part of me didn’t…Like I was sort of hoping they would try to talk to him first before trying to restrain him. And while I am glad they weren’t trying to outright attack him and they were trying to get to him was sweet in a way, it leaves me a bit….ehhh??? (It’s complicated) I feel like their good intentions are making things worse. But that remains to be seen…honestly expecting next chapter to end with Izuku being fully subdued and taken back to UA….making everything from the solo Deku arc to now quite anticlimactic…I want to be wrong but again, don’t hold your breath.
I mean I expected this, so not surprised…I still ride or die with Izuku even tho poor bby is taking some Ls
But is it really too much to ask for the plot to address the giant fucking elephant that is the affect Bakugou’s bullying has done to Midoriya??? Like, I need next chapter to re-open those can of worms and better now than AFO *coughsdaddycoughs* trying to use it to further manipulate Izuku, maybe to his side later??? I just cannot see things being suddenly okay after all that has happened up to this point before eventually going after All For One.
I know Mister Horikoshi is more self aware of his own story and characters than people give him credit for butttt…just because he is doesn’t guarantee he’s going to stay true to writing some characters as they should be. I’m not trying to say Bakugou is a creator’s pet but I am saying, when he’s present in the plot, one has to wait with baited breath in wondering if Bakugou will add to or subtract from the story…and that is not a good place to think about a character that is supposed to be so integral to the plot. It probably isn’t intentional but sometimes characters do feel ooc when it comes to dealing with Bakugou in the plot. (And I guess this is why I’m so…not peeved but just…ehh about certain character’s decision to go along with Bakugou’s idea. Surface level what all of them are doing makes sense but ehh???)
I’m not angry or disappointed and I’m sure a lot of others will do a way better job of going more in depth into this chapter; so I’m just gonna say this:
The next number of chapter(s) that deal with ‘Class 1-A vs Izuku’…better involve some goddamn angst and drama involving Bakugou admitting verbally to Izuku about his role in this boy having no self worth in himself. And possibly something triggering Izuku to unlock the 2nd’s quirk. There’s still Iida and Ochako who have been oddly absent from this chapter. Maybe more of class 1a might give their two cents….
Oh who am I fucking kidding, Horikoshi could still deliver all this and still somehow fuck it up to be so anticlimactic it hurts. (Because I am expecting the plot to do exactly this especially if we wind up getting any damn inkling of Bakugou bringing up the bullying)
Welp, I did say I was not going to hold my breath so I will continue to not expect anything as I have been doing thus far.
Blah, I’ll just like posts that explain this better than me.
I will just be sitting here anticipating canon divergent fix-it fics…because it seems like only Izuku stans have this boy’s back and have better ways to help Izuku with his trauma than canon…no shade to Horikoshi but….

Okay one more shitpost for today and then I’m washing my hands of Bakugou for now.
Bakugou: *Taunts and mocks Midoriya like usual, thinking this will just rile him up for a fight, like that’s going to help the situation.*
Me: *Looking at Bakugou unimpressed and eating popcorn* Okay…you know what they say, be careful what you wish for there Bakugou. Keep provoking Midoriya like that to bare his true feelings, with the state of mind he’s in and you gonna fuck around and find out…

So About BnHA…
Man! I don’t participate much on here but it sure has been an interesting popcorn eating time, lurking through the good, the bad, and the annoying posts in the spoiler chapter tags. For this week’s chapter, especially!
Not gonna rant (I save those for close friends on discord)
I do notice that lines within this crazy ass fandom have been drawn, tears have been shed and righteous fury has been felt. And no matter wtf Mister Horikoshi has in stored for chapter 320, it’s going to be a make or break chapter for a lot of folks. I did try my best to keep this post Bakugou neutral grounds. I don’t think I’ve bashed nor favored the character just fyi.
But the most inconspicuous opinions can be taken too serious these days…
The Silly:
For chapter 320 onwards, I am and have ALWAYS BEEN 100% Team: The Legend, The Myth, The Champ, Izuku ‘Feral!Rabbit-Cryptid!’ Midoriya! Win or Lose, I ride or die with Midoriya, hands down! ON GOD!
While everybody yelling into the tumblr void over whose gonna win or lose.
I’m sitting here thinking about two things: A) Has no one thought that maybe some of Class 1-A might side with Deku? *coughsUraraka/Iida/Todorokicoughs* *coughsmaybeevenMineta/Asui/Yaoyorozu???coughs* *coughs maybe even a surprise Shinsou/class1-b reveal even though class 1-b don’t know deku that well* B) Did everyone forget in all the excitement that uhh my boi has yet to unlock the 2nd OFA user’s quirk???
I mean, I’m not saying if it does come down to a bawl of drama and angst, that Izuku’s gonna win.
But I am saying, if it does come down to a bawl of drama and angst, that Izuku’s gonna win…I regret nothing with this bet! If my boi loses we just gonna take that L but…ya know…*shrugs*…Baby, beat their Bakugou’s collective asses.
The Serious:
Personally, I honest to god really love this shounen series with all my heart. It is the anime that reignited my love for shounen after my fatigued of constant disappointment with two old shounen favorites.
Now, having said all that: I truly have not had a serious issue with the writing choices made by Horikoshi. Yes, I have my…gripes…(it’s complicated) but considering what I got compared to the stuff I’ve watched/read in the past, it’s definitely better to me. Having read/watched a lot of anime/manga and shounen, (I haven’t watched them ALL, srsly after my great disappointment and real life I sort of had an anime dry spell if you must know. Watched some stuff here and there when I could/in the mood but not as frequent as I’ve done like yrs ago), I’ve come to learn to just…begrudgingly accept/expect certain; I suppose you can say, writing choices or ‘tropes’ that I can just easily ignore them, roll my eyes when I see them, and still enjoy whatever I’m invested in at the time.
The only real frustrations I have is with a certain character. Yes, I mean Bakugou. I have come to tolerate him, I have come to begrudgingly like him, especially after a second rewatch of the series, I could see and accept that in a very typical shounen way, Bakugou did change, though very little, and it’s subtle and undeniably frustrating how it’s happening but it’s there. However, I do question Horikoshi’s writing choices when it comes to him at times. I see the character development, I know it’s there but….*sighs*
Now I’m one of these people who do believe that the creator of this universe, actually knows wtf he’s doing with his own story (even if rabid/hormonal younger fans loudly disagree but YMMV). One thing I’ve noticed, for the most part, he doesn’t just write/draw things for the hell of it, even if a certain plot or a certain character’s development takes a snail’s pace to get to the point. The conclusion of building up to arcs do have a pay off. (And I 100% understand that for some people, moving at a snail’s pace just don’t cut it. Everything cannot please everybody all of the time and that is FINE!)
Katsuki Bakugou…I know the crumbs and very subtle ways he’s changed have to lead somewhere and to something huge. When Bakugou admits to All Might he bullied Midoriya when they were kids, I had an ‘ah ha!’ Moment. The fact that a very prideful guy like Bakugou was finally starting to admit just that much, (even though, we the audience knows it runs way deeper than he’s admitting here) even in his frustrating roundabout way I like to think this is progress, is very in-character and cannot just be for the hell of it. It has to be leading up to something else other than Bakugou jumping in to take that hit for Deku during the war arc. There is unresolved tension still between Bakugou and Midoriya that is not going to just go away because they will it to.
Which brings us to Chapters 318 and especially 319. It’s the perfect set up for all the dirty skeletons to come out of the closet that both Bakugou and Midoriya have been avoiding/trying to pretend doesn’t exists between them, because it’s been a long time coming. The honest to god truth? This is actually how I always thought this confrontation will go, with a showdown that forces Midoriya into a corner where all those repressed negative feelings he’s bottled up inside is bound to come out; Because I Honestly think Izuku would take what Bakugou’s done to him to his grave if he had it, his way. (Boy can be very frustratingly stubborn when he wants to be).
It’s just, after saying all this, I don’t hold my breath that Horikoshi will take it there…The opportunity is there, I want it to go there, it NEEDS to go there! In order for both characters to come out for the better. But will Mister Horikoshi ‘DO THE THING?’
Remains to be seen. A little bit of me is hopeful, another part of me is resigning myself to feeling dissatisfied with what little we got for Bakugou’s character development and by proxy, Izuku’s getting stuck in limbo. I’m not kidding, Bakugou being a very contentious character within this fandom doesn’t just come from nowhere. But this post isn’t about me ranting into the void about Bakugou. (I don’t even think I can muster up the rage I felt the first time watching MHA blindly to rant to high hell about the bullshit Bakugou’s done now.)
I suppose I will just have to internally scream for 1,000 yrs over half baked character development if Horikoshi doesn’t do the FUCKING THING in giving a satisfying pay off to Katsuki and Midoriya’s history. I’ll just frustratingly chalk it up to old freaking shounen logic and just continue to enjoy the series because I’ve been here for Izuku Midoriya since ep 1 and I am not about to let Bakugou or Horikoshi’s unwillingness to do something with him derail that. And there’s always hoping that someone is writing some really good Bakugou gets actual Consequences fanfic out there because ooh boy…I like Bakugou but mofo can catch these hands…and I’m not even a fighter, but Bakugou…this lil shit does make you want to choke the hell out of him at times.
I haven’t been this emotionally frustrated over an anime character since…maybe fucking Louise from Zero no Tsukaima and it takes a LOT to make me actually dislike characters, good or bad.
All in All: Regardless of how the story goes from here on out, we are all about to lose our collective shits. No matter how you feel about which characters…
It’s about to go down!

I...
*sees anti’s and some ‘neutrals’ constantly making tl:dr posts in pro sessrin tags, like I KNEW they would. Just the absolute audacity to think these hot takes have any personal impact on my actual day to day life. Like the unbelievable gall to think I give a shit about some fictional chick yiffing a demon dog lord, like them not boinking and making a couple cute fictional kids is suddenly going to bring world peace.*
I feel a great sense of Schadenfreude with SessRin being canon.
Listen, if there were real world issues that could be solved by NOT shipping SessRin, like say: having low gun crimes in certain US cities, than I might consider giving a shit.
But since it don’t, please excuse me while I continue to support the fictional hawt human chick yiffing it up with the demon dog lord, kaithxbai!

Ya’ll Alright?
Hey any SessRin shippers alright?
I know the constant bashing of our ship might have some of you really bummed out.
But take it from a fandom old, try not to let the self entitled cesspool get you down. I don’t know how many times I have to keep saying it but I will to keep making the point: Over the years, I have NEVER kowtowed or bowed down to internet peer pressure over fictional ships.
So to any young people just now getting into Inuyasha, no matter how you got here: YOU DO NOT OWE ANYONE YOUR TIME, EXPLAINATION OR REASONS FOR WHAT APPEALS TO YOU OR NOT!
You know yourselves better than any anti anon with a preverbal stick up their asses! The best you can do for yourself is learn to not take any of the ‘puritans anger’ to heart.
Despite having a whole tag to share and vent how much they do not like our ship, they are gonna flood pro sessrin tags ANYWAY to get a rise out of you. Do not give them the satisfaction of engaging! Just fucking block them, srsly, my timeline has become so much better because of it.
Why? Because I don’t have time to waste on energy vampires who want to bring me down. I am beyond caring about what any anti has to say or their feelings and thoughts about ships they hate because half the time these people are so hypocritical.
By making these TL:DR posts; all you are doing is giving them the undeserved satisfaction of filling their heads with a sense of superiority that they called you out for being a horrible human being.
Srsly, don’t waste any of your own precious time and energy engaging with people they can’t think of anything new to bitch about. All they do is BITCH and whine and complain and regurgitate the SAME BULLSHIT over and over again.
You don’t have to keep defending yourselves or jumping over hurdles to prove a fucking point that these people really don’t fucking care about anyway. It’s not about you being a bad person or not for shipping SessRin, it’s about getting a high from bullying people to do what they say.
DON’T GIVE THEM THE SATISFACTION!
Tumblr media
Here’s the answer to your problems, lovelies! If arguing over fictional ships drains you:
FUCKING USE IT!
Peace out!
