Since Mike and Lucas had dates planed, Dustin and I decided to hang out after school and have a Stars Wars Marathon. He wouldn’t stop doing his Chewy impression with his mouth full. It was fun though. A well needed day.

IT, Chapter Two

The scene opens. It is day, early morning, and ominous music is playing. Mike Hanlon walks into view from his farmhouse.

He dabs his way to the center of the screen, and puts his iPhone 5 to his ear.

“This bitch ass demon is back,” he says, as Stan Uris comes up behind him with a rainbow flag tucked under one arm and a vintage record tucked ironically under the other.

“Tweeka tweeka, birds are goin freaka” Stan says into the phone from over Mike’s shoulder, his face deadpan. “We need help, come on gang, to the Mystery Mobile.”

Halloween with the twins! Richie dressed up as the Dangerous Spaghetti Man if you wouldn’t know. He spent 2 hours with making his hair to look like Eddie’s. And he was very proud of his outfit.

concept: tiny punk eddie kaspbrak who wears ripped jeans and tank tops and who’s also fit as hell from running track for most of his schooling and plays drums in his/bill’s/bev’s/mike’s bad garage band and his lanky uncoordinated hippie boyfriend richie tozier who only wears tie dye shirts and has a manbun and who sits on a couch in mike’s basement with ben and stan to watch them practice while eating potato chips and taking bong rips

the loser’s club as things my drunk friends did on new years eve

bill: opening an enormous jug of pocket change to steal one handful at a time, roll across the floor, and deposit it in his backpack. rinse and repeat for over a half an hour. the owner of the change is just sitting there, watching him do this.

stan: locking two of our friends in the attic because they’re being annoying.

richie: trying to tape two small rolling suitcases to his feet, insisting that “this is the future, this is like… wall-e.”

mike: setting an alarm for five a.m., to patrol the area and make sure nobody died. waking up to said alarm still fucked up, and thinking it’s a fire alarm, start screaming for everyone to wake the fuck up.

ben: laying down on the staircase and insisting “i’ll sleep here, it’s fine.”

eddie: unknowingly picking richie as the winner of the cards against humanity round, and then eating the card so he doesn’t have to hand it over to richie.

bev: opening a pantry and staring at snacks for a solid five minutes straight, before announcing “holy shit guys, i just forgot how to read.”

There’s a Byler idea that’s been burning a hole in my mind for the longest time, where, during the snowball, will goes outside into the snow for some air after seeing mike with el, ending with Mike and will sharing their first dance in the snow and their first kiss.

After their fumbling first dance, Eleven thanked Mike with a gracious kiss on the cheek. She said she had other dates to show off to with her skill, the flourish of her misguided hands almost hitting Mike in the nose. They shared a moment of close laughter, Mike happy that he was able to make a terrifying evening for Eleven a pleasant outing with friends. She touched his hair, tucking it behind his ear and telling him that it was curler than she had seen it– and that she liked it. And she was sure others would too. She was being a kind and gentle faux date, complimenting and flattering Mike. Her words were sincere but benign. But that’s not how Will saw it; halfway across the gym, all he saw was his two friends laughing, touching, and chastely kissing.

The admission of feelings coiling in Will’s throat swelled with a quick gasp of air. Suddenly, he felt lifeless, gutted and empty in the center of the shining streamers. He turned and ran out of the gym, feet stomping just under the blaring music. He slipped past his classmates unnoticed and skirted around Mr. Clarke at the door and outside into the freezing air.

7 Reasons Why #Byeler (WillxMike) Is Real

   1.

   During this scene, you could just see the unsuppressed joy and unspilled tears shining in Will’s eyes that were clearly showing us he wanted nothing more than for the two of them to be “crazy together.”

   2.

   The look on Mike’s face says it all in this shot. I mean, just look at that horror-stricken expression. His eyebrows are creased. His mouth is agape. He is paralyzed with fear–and not for himself–for Will. And if you look at Lucas’s face, you can see that he doesn’t look half as concerned for Will as Mike does. If that doesn’t shed light on the matter, I don’t know what does. (I’m definitely not hating on Lucas or saying that he’s insensitive, just that he doesn’t show as much fear and intensity in his facial expressions as Mike does.)

   3. 

   In Season 1, we saw when Will first was taken to the Upside Down and he had no fucking clue what was going on or where he was. Let me hasten to point out that the first name he called out for help was none other than Mike’s. In a similar parallel, when Eleven disappeared into the Upside Down at the end of Season 1 she called out to Mike as well– and we all know that she loves him. Doesn’t that count for something?

   4.

   Fact: Mike knew that Will was going through phases of “now memories” and that he was stuck in between two dimensions and all that because (a) Mike can read Will easily and can always tell when something’s wrong–like in the arcade scene (b) Will trusts Mike with his feelings and problems more than anyone else in the party, and © Mike and Will were each other’s first best friends since (before?) kindergarten.

   5.

   I personally believe that Mike started staying over at the Byers’ house not just because he was worried about Will and his visions, but also because he had already lost Eleven and he couldn’t risk losing Will too. Think about it. He was still grieving over losing El, but instead of staying at home moping, calling El and hanging out in her blanket fort, he wanted to be there for Will. He didn’t want to lose him too.

   6.

  This scene was the most heartwarming thing to me. Will couldn’t remember Bob, but he did remember Mike. You’re probably thinking, “pfft nah girl it’s obvi bc they’re best friends and they go waaay back” To that, I say ha. I think it was more than just the fact that he and Mike had known each other for years, unlike Bob. I think that even though The Mind Flayer’s possession of his mind was forcing out memories, years could have gone by and he would never have forgotten Mike. He’s a piece of him that could never be lost. I mean, do you forget your ex’s name just because you broke up? No. You’ll always remember it, even if it makes you feel negative emotions. And don’t tell me that’s not comparable!
