blue, prologue of darkness
I wake
and lapse
into branches
shorn with winter,
red and forgettable
like so many flowers
awaiting their doom
by seas embittered, my life
slips open, my few threads
tied to stones into time’s
infallible sinking
the wound, it is here again
a star pitched and kin
to the harrow that is
my body
who will hold it? the trees heap
a deep, dim shape
slumped over, I am bound
to this thing
that suffering has made mine,
gathered into too small and few
my hands, impossible
holding, dislodged
and nameless

the colour blue
mine, in the harvest swarm
of her palm
as luminous waters churn
ineffable, ermine-hued
and cloaked
I have forgiven my past
of its atrocities but the world
does not remember
ruins configured of fairy
ornament and crone-fed
bone, animals
gnawed on at the plinth
of another’s dread - hers,
or mine
I give up my secrets, the uncertain
door; if only
I had the time to master it might I
dream near the wood again

I happened upon a very rare pleasure of commissioning @em-niwa, whose art is not only gorgeous but they are themselves.
Such is the Awakening of the Elves by Eru Ilúvatar near the Bay of Cuiviénen and the meeting of Oromë. It features a personal character of my own regard who is personal to my creative muse.
