Moving on to the ink stage of drafting the next woodblock. I procrastinated on this for a while because there are no redos in pen and carving, which makes scales incredibly difficult (for me) , but you have to break the ice at some point.

I am obsessed with Lepturini Cerambycidae. I spent some time in a montane meadow photographing them visiting these Allium flowers. Which were like the hip coffee shops of the bug world, EVERYONE wanted in on this scene. Also, isn’t the word “montane” sexy as hell? Moooooooontaaaaane!!! :))))) Expect Lepturine prints in the future.

My hiking partner in crime found a yucca weevil a while ago in a montane meadow, must have come from a domestic yucca. Nonetheless, soon it will be part of a weevil t-shirt. For now, the carved block!

A fox print, with native wild licorice that grows in the Suisun area, the stems of licorice are homage to the little tributaries of the estuary marsh they grow in. Mt. Diablo in the back and of course two valley oaks, Quercus lobata
