When i was younger i was the smart kid in my class, i had the best grades and partipated in everything, always confident that i could do it, since i was "really smart fpr my age", i braged about it and did all the activities for extra credit, i bit more that what i could chew but i got away with it, always doing everything and having almost no rest to cool out, mostly because of my grandma, who put the most pressure on me, but i let that be, because i wanted my granma's approval. My favorite uncle, a greek mithology nerd, used to call me 'Icarus', "hello little icarus". I knew that Icarus was a boy who's father gave him wings made of wood and wax, and he flied so high that he almost touched the sun, i took that as a compliment. Mistake.
When i reached high school i falled really behind, i had bad grades and i couldn't bring myself to DO anything, i felt exausted and even tho i tried my best i almost failed. That's when my uncle told me the rest of the story, Icarus's wings melted for being of wax and being too close to the sun. I had been burned out for the stress and constant overwork that i put myself through.
I reached the sun, but then i fell when my wings melted.
So don't put yourself through more stress or you'll get burned out too.
