moon genuinely one of the realest characters debuting this year. extremely cool teleportation superpowers that could take her anywhere on earth but only took her to a man because people shipped her with him….. oh. most justified rage i’ve seen in ages. i want to see more of her and yet also want her to be entirely free of this shit.

ALSO this second episode confirms my theory that each character has their own art style!! Which is SO COOL. Moon/Xiao Yueqing's style is the new cartoony style at the beginning of ep.2 when we learn who she really is and Nice's (especifically Lin Ling's Nice's) is the more comic book style... which makes me wonder which style OG Nice had. Even the villains (as we saw with Lin Ling's boss) have their own art style!

I need to do a post collecting all of them at the end of the show... but to visualize:

Lucky Cyan's arc is like. What if hope transcends death? What if the power of love is real? What if love could save one person and thus save everyone? What if I cried watching a bunch of strangers use their final moments to pass on their final wishes to a child they didn't know in the hopes that at least she would live on in their stead?

But she didn’t. She found him lying on the beach, and he was real, and he was there, and she wasn’t alone anymore, and she responded with such desperation and carelessness that she hurt him and drove him away.

She’d been alone so long that she mistook the relief of not being alone for love. She felt connection for a moment - and through her own actions, she messed it up.

(Even if she hadn’t, he still would have left her. She still would have ended up alone.)

umm that storyline in the buccaneers about abuse is genuinely so so good like. top three best representations of abuse ive ever seen in any media for sure and i am in absolute awe of aubri ibrag for the way she tells that story through her acting down to all her microexpressions
