Cameron had been leaning against the wall, just listening. Listening to the young girl singing sweetly and thanking the occasional person that dropped in a dollar or two. “Do you take requests?” He quipped, offering a playful smile. He stepped away from the wall to pop a couple of dollars in the open guitar case. “You’re really good y’know? Do you play in some of the bars round here or just out here?”
“I promised I wouldn’t say goodbye, so I grin and my voice gets thin.” Emily wasn’t really singing what she wanted - she hated trying to pick songs to sing. She was just singing what people wanted to hear, what they would give her change for. None of it was actually something she enjoyed. This was as close as it could get. “Thanks.” She said under her breath at the person who threw a few dollars into her open guitar case.

“Okay, let’s go,” she giggled, taking his hand into hers without really thinking about it as they braved to go back into the storm. By the time they got back to their apartment building, they were both soaking wet but she didn’t even mind. She gave him a small smile and said “I’ve missed you, too… No, it’s okay. We’ve both been busy. For whatever reason, I didn’t think school would be as stressful as it’s been but I spend most of my time either reading, writing papers, or studying, so…”
Cameron nodded, understandingly. He’d never done too well at school at left before graduating high school but he could understand and sympathise with how busy Alice must’ve been, he wasn’t taking it personally. Work and studies came first. “I’m so proud of you for going to school and doing well, though.” He smiled as he unlocked the door to his apartment and held it open for Alice. “After you.” His place wasn’t decorated but he liked the minimalism and simplicity of it, Cam’s aesthetic was plain... and black. Everything in the apartment was dark or neutral tones to off-set against the white walls and bright ceiling lights. After locking the door behind him, Cameron placed his hand on the small of Alice’s back. “Take a seat, do you want a towel or anything?” He offered, running his free hand through his damp locks.

The bartender gave her the drink and first aid kit. She took an alcohol wipe out and rubbed her palm. “I can cover my own drink. We all want to get out of the rain, you don’t have to push and shove.”
Cameron ducked his head, nodding in agreement as he moved to sit down beside the woman, “My mistake, completely, I just wanted to make sure you’re not hurt too bad.” He then ordered a double whiskey on the rocks before looking over the woman tending to her hand. “You a nurse or something?”

To Alice,
I’m sorry this is a little late but I wasn’t sure you’d want to see me after the way our conversation went the other night, I am sorry for getting so angry about you and Alec, it was none of my business, I guess I just have to accept that I wasn’t good enough. As long as he treats you right and makes you happy then I’m happy. But here are some things I thought you deserved, consider them an apology. The woman in the shop said that the perfume was one of their best sellers and smelt good so I took her advice, I do hope it’s as good as she made it sound. Also, who doesn’t love hot chocolate? But the ring is something special, this is truly an apology gesture. It’s raw diamond, it’s perfectly imperfect, just like you-- us. I really hope this makes up for my behaviour and I totally understand if you don’t want to see me again, but I would hate to not have you in my life, Alice. You’re the one person who truly understands me.
Merry Christmas, I’m sorry.
Love, your Cam.

She was shaking her shirt to try and somewhat dry it when the man came back with paper towels. “Thanks.” She said quickly, and started to rub them on her shirt. “Just my pride.” She joked. “I’m fine. Are you? You just ran in here; is someone chasing you?”
Cameron watched the other pat herself dry before offering a compassionate smile, “I’m fine, just wasn’t expecting the rain.” It was a lame excuse, there was no reason for bursting into a bar and knocking someone to the ground, “I’ve got some spare shirts at my apartment if you want to change? I only live a minute away from here.” He offered.

Heather was more shocked than anything by the sudden collision. She had just stepped inside, so the body at her back was completely unexpected, and she hardly had time to put her hands out to catch herself. “Fuck!” She looked over her shoulder, sighing quietly when she saw the guy was offering to help her up. She grabbed his hand and stood. “It’s what? Oh, raining? Yeah– never seen a reaction quite so extreme. Were you afraid you were going to melt?”
Cameron let out a nervous chuckled as he helped the woman to her feet. “Not quite, it was just fucking cold and.. unexpected.” He shrugged. “You okay? You’re not hurt or anything?” Cam would feel incredibly guilty if he’d managed to hurt the other, it wasn’t in his nature to feel so bad about such an action but something within him had changed recently and he had developed more of a conscious, becoming more aware of others feelings.

The petite blonde hadn’t meant to stay later than a few hours at the studio, yet here she was walking home in the dark. Too focused on just getting home, Meredith almost didn’t feel the few drops of rain until it was downpouring. “Damn..” She muttered, running to the nearest dry spot, at least attempted to until she was knocked over by a bigger being. A subtle groan left the blonde’s lips as she accepted the strangers hand, huddling under the entrance of some bar. “I’m fine, but you should really watch where you’e going..”
Cameron nodded in a agreement, helping her up. “I know, I’m sorry. Can I get you a drink as an apology or something?” He offered, brushing his damp, dark locks out of his face. He hadn’t been prepared for the sudden downpour and had only popped out in jeans and a checked shirt, he was now wet and cold which was the perfect recipe for a miserable Cameron.

Jezebel was knocked onto the floor when someone rushed into the bar, the few drinks she was carrying, spilling on her shirt. “Shit.” She said, before the guy started apologizing. She took his hand and got up. “Yeah, I’m okay. I just need to get a new shirt, which I don’t have.”
Cameron’s brown burrows deeper as he helped the woman to her feet. “Crap, I am so sorry. Hang on.” He ran up to the bar and asked for some paper towels before running back and hanging them to the other, “Will that help? It might dry it a bit.” The man had been making a conscious effort to be nicer to people, hoping it would create a positive effect in his life, but he wasn’t sure how to be a nice guy-- he sure was making the attempt though. “Are you hurt?”

Nita stood up without his help. She skinned her hand when she fell, grateful it wasn’t her dominant one. She held back her anger and annoyance for the selfish person and walked past him into the bar. She sat down inside and asked the bartender for two things, “I’ll have a mojito and a first aid kid.”
Cameron felt awful when the woman denied his help and walked to the bar, a guilt washed over him as he trailed behind her. “Listen, I’m sorry. it was a total accident but I feel like such an ass. Let me get your drink for you. Are you hurt?” He offered, frowning in concern as he watched the others face,

She looked back at the bar, now realizing how enticing that drink sounded. His suggestion made her stomach flip because she knew she couldn’t spend the night at his house but she still wanted to have some time with him. She needed a chance to be honest and explain things. Besides, she could always say that she ran into Alex or someone else from Glendale and just lost track of time–it wasn’t like it was a complete lie after all. Her grip tightened just a bit on the bags she had, which contained part of Alec’s many presents. “Um.. Yeah, that actually sounds like a better idea.. I’m always down for chocolate and horror movies.” Was she misleading him by saying yes?.. Then again, they would’ve probably done the exact same thing if their plans to hang out two weeks ago had gone accordingly, right? “I can’t stay really late, though. I’ve got to get up really early tomorrow morning.. But I’m down, let’s do it,” she smiled.
Cam’s smile dropped a little bit knowing that Alice would have to cut their evening short at some point but for now he was just happy with her answer and held his hand out to her, “C’mon, if we move fast we won’t get too wet.” Cam opened the door of the bar and lead the way back to their apartment building. It was an exciting though that Cam wouldn’t be spending Christmas eve alone, this was his first holiday out of Glendale and it was a depressing thought to think that he may have to spend it alone, Alice’s smile made all those thoughts dissipate. “I’ve really missed you, y’know? I am sorry about not being around a huge amount.”

She wrapped her arms around him and held onto him tightly. Now that the shock was wearing off, she shook her head and let out a small chuckle. “No, it’s okay! The rain is awful it out there…” She laughed as he looked her over for any injuries, even though she was just fine. “No hospital trip necessary, I think I’ll be okay. Um..” She looked over at one of the empty high tops near the bar and contemplated asking him to stay. Besides, Alec was at home wrapping Christmas presents and she was pretty sure he wanted her out of the house for a while so he didn’t have to rush to finish all of that. “Do you wanna’ grab a drink or something?..”
Cameron looked around the bar, wondering if it was the best environment for Alice to be in. “It’s up to you, we could go back to mine though, if you wanted? I have hot chocolate and like, every horror film you could imagine. What better way to spend a Christmas Eve, huh?” Cam suggested, pushing his damp, dark locks out of his face. Secretly, the man was hoping Alice would say yes because he’d missed their days of curling up on the couch together at Glendale and watching films all day, it was some of his most cherished memories.

alice--griffin:
Alice had run out to do some last minute shopping which was even crazier than she’d expected it to be. She’d wrapped everything else and had placed it under the tiny Christmas tree in her apartment but she considered these to be more like stocking stuffers than anything. Once it started pouring, she’d ducked into the nearest place to wait it out. The second she stepped inside, though, she let out a heavy sigh. It had to be a bar? For a moment, she considered sitting down but she knew she shouldn’t. Putting her hood back over her head, she prepared to go back out and brave the rain when someone slammed into her and knocked her off her feet. At first, she was irritated until she saw who it was that she’d run into. It’d been too long since she’d seen Cam. They’d try to hang out a few times but she either had a test to study for or he had work. Honestly, she was surprised to see him and her words seemed to feel like they were stuck in her throat. Taking his hand and lifting herself up, all she could make out was “Hey.. Where have you been?”
A deeper feeling of guilt took over Cam’s body as he realised who exactly he’d just knocked to the ground. “God, fuck.. Alice. I’m so sorry!” He pulled her up with ease and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight to his chest. It wasn’t like he’d been avoiding Alice the last few weeks, he’d been desperate to spend quality time with her but work had got in the way and there was her room mate which just made it awkward for Cam to hang out at her flat. “I’ve been meaning to see you, just didn’t mean to practically knock you out!” He held her out at arms length for a brief moment just to check she had no injuries. “You okay? No hospital trip necessary?” He questioned, studying every inch of her face, feeling an urge to protect the beautiful brunette.

Cameron had just finished his shift at the shop, where he’d found a job a few weeks ago and was now stood on the side walk, smoking the last cigarette in the pack while contemplating whether to go home or head out for a drink, the night was still young and so inviting but he had no one to go out with. He thought of sending a couple of texts out and asking if anyone wanted to meet up, but that wasn’t until rain started pouring down at a heavy rate. “Fuck..” He turned on his heels and ran into the nearest bar, almost knocking out some stranger on the other side by running full force into the entrance. “Shit.. fuck, sorry! It’s pissing it down, you okay?” He rambled, holding a hand out to help the other up.

Cameron had been rushing to get to the corner store before it shut, after sleeping all day Cam had realised he’d woken up starving and with no food in his apartment, it was dark and the tall man hadn’t seen the other on the path until it was too late and now her shit was all over the floor and he’d never get to the store on time. “Sorry.” He muttered, bending down to pick up the books that had fallen. “You okay?” He asked, looking up at the woman before rising to his feet and handing over her belongings.
It was late, too late at night for Arnell to be comfortable walking out alone. Hugging her books tightly to her chest as she mostly gazed at her feet in front of her, moving as fast as they could in a hurry to get home. Broken from her trance, she felt someone smack roughly against her shoulder, causing her books to slip from her hands as an exhausted sigh spilled from her lips. “—Asshole.”

The question made her nervous but she’d been doing more than just spending her time with Alec. There was school, after all. “Um, school, really. It keeps me pretty busy. I’m taking five classes, trying to get caught up as soon as possible,” she chuckled. “I see a few people from Glendale on a regular basis, actually… A lot of them live in our building, like Gina and Pepper. And Pepper and I are good now. We’re friends, which is really nice,” she smiled. “What about you?”
Cameron was impressed that Alice had gone back to school, he felt so proud of her. “Well done. That’s great, Alice. What classes are you taking?” He asked with intrigue. “Oh really? I haven’t seen many, I think I bumped into Pepper the other week, but I didn’t really know her. And, I haven’t been up to anything. Planning how to get here mainly and then just looking for a job.” As the two walked, Cam directed them into the front doors of the apartment complex and headed for the lift, pushing the button to call it down to them. “Which floor are you on? I’m on 10.”
