🎨 #WIP #OnMyEasel 😊 I thought I finished this commissioned painting of the Naples, FL pier, beach & ibis shorebirds. THIS PHOTO IS NOT THE FINISHED PAINTING. The client says “too much pink, more golds in the clouds & reflections”… done, then, she asked me to smooth out the reflections on the beach… I’ve made the adjustments & will post A photo showing you the changes as soon as I have approval.🎨 - 👉Aug. 7, 2021 MEDICAL UPDATE: Immediately after Tuesday 7/20 chemo, My blood pressure was dangerously low & my throat closed almost completely, I was struggling to breathe. Thank God🙏🏻 I was still at the cancer clinic… they called an ambulance & gave me a shot for an allergic reaction. The hospital monitored me w/ electronic tabs. When my heart rate was safe, they allowed me to go home. - We made it home before midnight… I vomited 5-6 times until I was empty, & finally dozed off to sleep. - It's surprising, I have different allergic reactions each chemo. These past few weeks are the first time I’ve felt truly bad, like I have cancer. My doctors are concerned about giving me another chemo treatment with the same medication. - I’m doing fine now, doing my best to stay positive and looking forward to my 8/11 pet scan and my 8/13 oncologist meeting to explain it.🙏🏻😊 This incurable cancer affects my tumors, lymph glands & bone marrow. - 😢 BACKGROUND: On 3/25/21, I learned that I have stage 4 follicular lymphoma CANCER (no cure). 🎨 #WIP #OnMyEasel 😊 I’m doing my best to finish a commissioned painting of the Naples, FL pier, beach and ibis shorebirds. 🎨 👉JULY 9, 2021 UPDATE: my June chemo took me to the hospital ER with very high fever, low heart rate, extreme chills and vomiting. I don’t remember the ER at all… My husband, Todd, said I was saying funny things like, ”Did you remember to put the car in the freezer?” 🤦🏻(Of course, in my delusional state, I was still making to-do lists.) 🙏🏻👉 Happily, a week afterwards, I was back to “normal” and able to paint 3–4 hours each day. This photo shows my progress. 🎨 I’ll begin working on the birds today… birds will hopefully only take 4-6 days to paint the proper detail, highlights, and shadows. 🎨❤️ - 😢 On 3/25/21, I learned that I have stage 4 follicular lymphoma CANCER (no cure). 😢 On 3/25/21, I learned that I have stage 4 follicular lymphoma CANCER (no cure). I began monthly chemotherapy treatment 3/30 which gives me some relief. 🙏🏻 My belly was filled with tumors and inflamed lymph nodes and extended 10 inches larger than normal. My legs had enlarged so badly I could barely stand, I couldn’t bend my knees, and my calves were beginning to split open because my skin won’t stretch any further. 👉JUNE 18, 2021 UPDATE: I’ve been so busy painting 🎨🥳 I forget to post on social media. I’m doing good this week, And the inflammation has greatly subsided. CHEMO is next week 6/22, I always feel almost back to “normal” the week before chemo… the week during chemo is typically rough on me & I spend about 4 days in bed. The doctors say my labs look great, they will do another CT scan after my August chemo treatment to see what the tumors/lymph glands/cancer look like. I have a great chance of being here for the next two years at least. 🙏🏻 I am able to stand for longer periods of time without nerve pain and I can even go to the store these days. 🎨 #WIP #OnMyEasel 😊 I’m doing my best to finish a commissioned painting of the Naples, FL pier, beach and ibis shorebirds. 🎨 🎨 I’m considering an art auction of my existing paintings and prints to help pay for my medical bills. each chemo treatment is 17K + Doctor visits & labs. (We are so grateful insurance pays for a lot of it.) Several have mentioned that you like seeing my artwork in progress. If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer! 😊🎨❤️ I am self-taught and this is my intuitive way of painting. I don’t paint like other artists, however, my technique works for me. I’ve learned that I paint in the indirect painting method of the Dutch masters – my paintings look strange until the end. 👉 I always paint my backgrounds first, then I paint my main subjects so the feather edges will look natural and soft against the background. The past 3 days I’ve been painting the tree stump... tonight I’m beginning the owls. (I tend to paint through the night while most of you are sleeping.) 👉 It’s been a challenging, crazy 2 years and I haven’t painted since July 2019. Plus, i’ve spent 2020 sewing masks for healthcare workers and nursing homes, and My husband and I just recovered from COVID-19 (because I couldn’t resist hugging and kissing my family 🥰). We count our blessings that it did not hit us hard, in fact, very mild for us. 👉 I’ve been eating healthy since June 20, and have lost 65 pounds and take vitamins every day… I know that had to have helped my recovery.
