((catching up on some request backlog)) I love this idea! It's SO CUTE! This is one of the designs I worked out for her with the sort of space/futuristic/retro vibe. With generic magical staff. I wasn't sure what type of weapon Maria would have. She could easily be a healer type or ranged attack.

i'm gonna try to avoid the more popular ones, because I will assume that you are already familiar with them so I'm gonna go with lesser known/talked about

Laughing Under the Clouds

It's been a long time since I watched this but I remember it being a good watch and emotional (so don't watch if you want fluffy good vibes), but I do not see many people talk about this. I remember doing some fanart for it when I was younger before I got a tumblr.

Tamako Love Story

It is a movie that takes place after the show Tamako Market, but I do not think you need the context of the show to enjoy it in my personal opinion. A wholesome and fluffy high school/childhood friends romance watch.

Ultra Manic

If you like mahou shoujo and classic anime. Got the tropes and great characters for good fun all around! Romance, magic, friendship, fluff!

Black Rock Shooter (OVA)

Personally I prefer the OVA to the series (yes, they are different). Shows emotional friendship/relationship problems and just well done. In my top ten on MAL, but maybe for nostalgic reasons... I wanna rewatch now.

Skip Beat!

Not obscure, just I personally think it needs a boost cause I love it and people need to recommend it more. Very fun, tropes, drama, showbiz revenge, good characters. The manga is still ongoing and I'm still buying/reading it and I just have so much fun with it.

The Twelve Kingdoms

Is it shoujo? Josei? Who knows. MAL doesn't have it labeled so I'm going with it anyway. BECAUSE IT'S ONE OF MY FAVOURITES. Really good if you enjoy worldbuilding, fantasy, isekai, politics, magic. I enjoyed seeing the MC's growth. She might start off a little annoying for some people but to me it makes sense considering her circumstances and she very naturally grows out of it and MORE PEOPLE NEED TO WATCH THIS. Longer series, but worth the watch to me.

You know once Chibi Cafe starts applications for their summer and winter artist alley's I'll definitely be signing up for those too! Hopefully next year I will finally get into a convention outside of PA!
