I know this is a reading blog (one I have yet to use) but I wanted to also let it be a review blog of movies or shows i truly found amazing. Which is why I will now be talking about Nosferatu as I literally just finished it.
Now as I said I just finished it so I may have missed things so bare with me.
They story was amazing to say the least, the whole time I was praying Tomas would save Ellen but I also had this feeling of a bitter sweet ending from the beginning. I felt awful for Ellen because the one person who believed her was gone across the sea. But I also felt horrible for Tomas because he knew something was wrong with Ellen and she was in danger while he was away yet he couldn't do anything to save her.
As I watched I had this feeling of sexual assault, the way Oloak drank his blood seemed almost pleasurable for him all while Tomas was powerless to fight this intrusion upon his body. And the same can be said of Ellen. She was a woman who thought herself unclean after Oloak sexually assaulted her. She thought herself unworthy of love of feeling a kind touch because she was powerless to her abuser. That was until Tomas came along. He showed her she can be loved, that her does deserve a kind touch.
I think my favorite part was when she and Tomas fucked. She challenged him, both Tomas and Olack. She not only needed to show her abuser she desires to be free but that she will be, and she needed Tomas to finally let his darkness show alongside her own. But it was after she showed her demons, or in this case her face pouring blood. That we truly see the depths of Tomas's love for her. He doesn't care that she is unclean, that she is possessed, that she is cursed, because he loves her and he tells her this over and over again.
And in the end it isn't enough, she must save hose she loves. She must face her abuser without shame. She must lay at his feet and allow him to devour her. Because if she doesn't it will destroy everyone she loves.
It was beautiful story. And as I said I probably missed a lot because it is my first watch through. But I most definitely will be watching it again and I highly recommend because it truly is a beautiful story.
