I feel like the biggest mischaracterization I see of Steve Rogers is that he is this rule following conservative guy. Like no, did we watch the same movies? This man breaks every rule he can. He hates the government. He also is not a bigot at all. He has his own moral code and does everything based on it.

…yeah whatever you do, don’t think about Agathario (specifically the perspective of Rio to Agatha) while listening to “Emily I’m Sorry” by boygenius, don’t make that connection, you’ll just hurt your own feelings, I learned this the hard way-

The first word Steve Rogers said in the MCU was "nope."
His first appearance is in a room full of big, buff men. We don't see Steve initially because he's hidden behind a newspaper. When his name is called, he lowers the newspaper, revealing a tiny scrawny man.
The man, able-bodied, next to him comments about the war and tries to subtly convince Steve, guessing just by looking at his small frame that he has a good reason not to enlist, to rethink joining the war. Steve just puts his newspaper down and without hesitation says, "Nope."
That one word alone summons Steve Rogers' character.
He doesn't care about his limitations. He's not afraid of death. He's going to do whatever it takes to join the army, and not even God himself will stop him.
I wish the movie had explored his medical problems and poor background more.
I wish they had shown or talked more about Sarah Rogers, who shaped Steve's persona. People wrongly assume it was Peggy even though he was already like that before the serum and the army.
