After finally completing my model for Annela, I set up this test render of her in the forest road scene I modeled a while ago. Annela is an Eerane, a species of spectral lifeforms from a dimension known as "Veilshade". She lives in a town that's in this forest, further down the road. I'll try to work on that town at some point. This dimension doesn't have many light sources, so it's normally pitch black. The inhabitants can see fine, though, as they don't use light for vision.
I used the Emission shader for Annela's body so it wouldn't take any shading, and set the shadow mode to None since Eeranes don't make shadows. I also used the Solidify modifier technique for giving her hair and fingers outlines so they can be seen against each other. I may need to adjust the outline a bit, though.

A very short animation I rendered in Blender to make up for my lack of activity. It still took me about a week to complete.
I practiced with animating more fluent motions. I also tried a method for making and animating a water surface material.
I don't know if people are getting bored of this dimension, but I have been doing some work on another one to add some variety. There's still a lot in this dimension I haven't gotten to yet, though.
The music used is from the Toad Highlands theme from Mario Golf (N64).

A render of a scene from another dimension. This was a more recent render with my model of a Xirylon, a species native to this dimension. This particular Xirylon is named Myrra. She's a researcher who studies Glimrings, another species from this dimension. In this render, Myrra is floating near a small planet-like globe and writing some notes on a mobile device she uses for research.
I've improved the Xirylon materials a bit, I just need to find a method for adding fabric detail to the dress. I experimented with depth of field, but couldn't get it reasonably noticeable.

This comic is part of a series centered around the research and discoveries of interdimensional explorers.
This is also concept art for a dimension named "Veilshade" (Name may change if I find a better one). The explorer here goes by the name Ion. One of several really old characters from some years ago, I decided to try reworking her appearance and using her here. I'll fix it up a bit more and post some concept art later.
A side note: Although Ion has a humanlike appearance, she actually isn't a human. Same thing with Eniar. Someday I'll go into detail about their origins.

After learning more stuff I can do in Blender, I made another animation to try using it.
This takes place in another dimension. This dimension, known as "Timespace", is separated into two dimensional planes. One with 3-dimensional space along 1-dimensional time, much like what you're familiar with, and one where space and time are both three-dimensional. An individual, known as a Glimring, is trying to visit a place it learned about from another.
I'm not sure if I used the right terms here.

A short "slice of life" animation involving individuals from another dimension (Glimrings are what they're called). Animated in Bender with a more simple look, since I'm still learning texture stuff. I did manage to get the lighting to work better, I think.

I tried to export the render from Blender, but it added excessive blur to the background. I couldn't find any way to fix it, so I just took a screen capture and cropped it to what a render should have looked like.
