They live in a universe where everyone is tied down by religion, which shapes the hierarchy and social structure of their society. Sable works at a church, which is also like....a boarding school? idk they take orphans and brainwash them ig. They find little baby Alfie, and name him after a character from the only kind of entertainment they have (propaganda tv yayyy), and soon find out that he's actually the physical manifestation of the terrifying god that everyone has been trying to appease, (so basically why the cult was made).

Maybe one day i'll post more about their backstory idk
