post where mc's banquet dresses r not ranked cuz no matter what i say about the dress, mc makes it look FANTASTIC. uhhh, post where i just point out details and praise the dresses, i guess

written by somebody who had a brief stint in designing and sewing dresses, so i may not know much, but i do love Appreciating Dresses. will only contain the banquet dresses currently seen in cards on the global server + one bonus from the cn server because i cant not talk about That Dress

LET'S GOOOOOO

Luke SSR Alluring Gaze: the dress i wish we could SEE THE FRONT OF

let's start with the dress we see the least of kjBKJFG. of all the dresses on this list, this one strikes me as like....the cutest, the most Sweetheart Vibes. a perfect match dress for mc to wear along with luke, the cutest most sweetheart of all the boys.

the color is kept simple all throughout: adorable pink color with simple silver detailing at the hem of the skirt. there seems to be a different color pink at the hem as well, a darker shade thats a semi-sheer fabric with a scalloped edge, i like that a lot. keeps the dress quite straightforward but also these little flares give it personality.

my favorite thing here though is the bust part of the dress, aka, the bit we only see the BACK OF, GRRRRRR. what is seen tho, the over tho shoulder wrap kind of strap, is frigging gorgeous. it couldve been just a simple strap, but the rose bow went with gives an added sophisticated feel to a dress that feels more on the cute side of the spectrum. im sad we cant see the front and also her other shoulder cuz it seems like the strap for that shoulder is a scalloped edge kind of deal that matches with the hem of the skirt, that delights me so much, the little details being mirrored in other areas of the dress tying it all up in a cohesive whole.

verdict: mc is so pretty. luke, can you put her down and let us see the rest of the dress? PLEASE???

Vyn SSR A Star In The Night: i wasnt a fan of this one UNTIL I WAS

i wasnt a fan of this dress when i saw the first and second evolution images of the card, aka the first picture ive attached for this part. this is wholly bc of a personal preference thing, i dont really like dresses that have a wrap kinda thing going on throughout the entire bust and bodice. i did like the draped sleeve over her arm though, it's a great touch. and even though i wasnt personally sold on this dress at first, it's rlly clear that the dress is giving off an elegant fairytale vibe, very very aligned with how vyn sometimes feels like an elegant fairytale character, haha.

but then the next image happened and i was like OKAY, YES, I LOVE THIS DRESS NOW, ACTUALLY!!!

this dress is MADE to be in motion. im obsessed with the bit of the dress attached to her bracelet so that movement from her swishes the fabric around. and the swishing is wonderfully accentuated by the skirt's fabrics; one lavender solid color fabric base and sheer fabric. and the sheer fabric is working SO HARD. SO MUCH DETAIL ON THAT. the entire surface of the sheer fabric is speckled with floral design. can we give an award for the sheer fabric layer of this dress? it's doing SO MUCH SO WELL.

this dress shimmers, it shines, it is MAGICAL, and it is MADE TO BE DANCED IN. thank you, vyn richter, for dancing with mc while shes in this dress. it wouldve been a fucking crime if she didnt dance with this dress on.

verdict: mc is so so pretty. top bit of this dress didnt vibe with me but the overall design of the dress shining in motion + the detailing of the sheer fabric won me over. AMAZING

Marius SSR Fabulous Feast: it's about the VOLUME, the BILLOWING

THIS DRESS. IS SO. GODDAMN. PRETTY.

a sweetheart neckline (not sweetheart as in 'awww cute beloved' like i said with luke but as in thats the term for when the top of the bust where the cut is fashioned to look like the top of a heart). around that neckline and extending to form the sleeves is yet another gorgeously detailed sheer fabric situation, n the detailing seems to be EMBROIDERED (as opposed to how it seems printed in the vyn SSR) SILVER FLOWERS with these shining bits too. the bow at the waistline is SUPER CUTE TO ME and it's got this silver moon accessory in the center but also it looks a LOTTTTT THE VON HAGEN SERPENT CREST (see marius' pin on his suit lapel) in terms of shape. which, i assume, must have pleased marius very VERY much.

BACK TO THE DRESS, i love this skirt a lot cuz of that ruffle layer that starts from the waistline. it's hard to tell from the angle of this pic but maybe that ruffle actually goes all the way around several times, getting longer and longer to create the full billowing skirt we see. and BILLOW THIS DRESS DOES!!! mc's dress in vyn's card was more of a swish while this dress moves with more volume, i feel. could be cuz of the different movement going on but it also could be that the width of the skirt when placed out end to end flat and not yet attached to the waistline is wider, thus adding more fabric to move around. and, of course, the detailing on the skiIIIIRRRRTTTTT!!!!

the details are on the solid violet fabric itself and also seem to like....god theres a word for this but i cant remember it, the word for "only shows up when light is shined upon it", THE DETAILS R LIKE THAT. so it must be so amazing to see the dress in solid color at first and then mc twirls and the light brings all those stars and moons to LIFEEEEEE.

back to the billowing thing i mentioned before but since the skirt seems to be more voluminous, it's movement shines best like in those scenes in movies where the lady is running through the banquet, clutching her big poofy skirt as she makes he way thru the venue

so given the story of this card where marius basically asks mc to "Run Away With Me (by Carly Rae Jepsen)", this dress is perfect for it

verdict: cannot stress this enough, mc is so goddamn pretty. this dress is fantastic

Artem SSR Por Una Cabeza: artem's first time dancing with a partner? mc gonna make sure shes dressed to the NINES FOR THAT!!!!

the thing about a red is that it catches attention. red is a strong color; it stands out, it's bold, it's striking, it demands all eyes be on it and it alone.

so if u wear a red dress? ALL EYES ON U, MC!!! AND THANK GOD, CUZ SHES BEAUTIFUL.

a nice wide wrap around the waistline with SUCH A CUTE BOW, I RLLY LOVE BOWSSSS, and a backless bodice but god, god, artem, i love you u, but can u step aside? can u let us see the front of her dress PLEASE. from both the pictures the front of the bodice seems to extend to one of her shoulders in an interesting kind of ruffle ordeal and I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT but since i CANT i'll focus on the usual main dish since theres only so many angles of all these dresses were given: the skirt

YESSSS FINALLY, A TIERED DRESSSSS!!! the skirt here seems to not be just one layer of fabric, it's a bunch laid over one another and ruffled and waaaaahhhh it makes such a wonderful effect. all the dresses thus far needed Movement for swish/volume to happen, but with a tiered skirt like this, even just moving to hold artem's hand can show off the Shape of the dress. when in motion though, which happens in this card since artem and mc dance the tango, that Shape flares even more with all the movements waaaahh. the whole thing is solid red but theres little glitters everywhere (INCLUDING MC'S BACK, THAT IS SO LOVELY) that r v pretty and help it stand out.

verdict: just in case it hasnt sunk in yet, mc is so incredibly pretty. also god, mhy, what do i have to give to see full body front and back refs for all these dresses???? PLEASE??????

bonus cn server card Luke SSR Dark Ripple: the dress that killed me dead

remember when i said luke is the cutest most sweetheart of the boys? well, in this card, hes not that. hes not cute, hes intimidating scary hot SEXY

and then mc completely beats him at his own game in this dress

LIKE, OKAY. GOD. //DEEP INHALE

this dress is simple.

solid black fabric all through out, backless with plunging cut, little cutout at the hips above whats probably a very high leg slit, neck strap for the front (which i ALSO WISH WE COULD SEE, mhy pls release Front Parts Of MC's Dresses from the art vault. since the back is already so exposed i can imagine the front to be fully covered/maybe with a cutout to show cleavage, but thats only speculation based on the overall vibes of the dress), and the whole thing is VERY INCREDIBLY FORM FITTING to accentuate every single curve.

so it's simple, it's not a new design or groundbreaking, but it's classic. it's the classic sexy black dress you see in spy movies, the black dress of the femme fatale, the dress of action films and bond girls and more. it's classic to a specific kind of story so this dress is more than just a dress, it's a SYMBOL. thanks to the history of dresses like these, what we get isnt just a very very drop dead gorgeous mc, we also get her in an outfit ICONIC in certain kinds of stories.

and THAT, dear reader, is why this dress packs such a punch. because of the SYMBOLISM, the ICON OF A GENRE, AND.....

........and also cuz mc is just stupendously hot
