Sometimes

Sometimes I wish I could control my emotions. Sometimes I wish I knew why I feel the way I do about things. Sometimes I wish people didn’t think so poorly of me without actually knowing me. Sometimes I wish people would give me a chance.

I’ve been made fun of my entire life- family, friends, strangers. It didn’t matter who it was. Anytime I opened my mouth, no one listened. I could be screaming for help and everyone would turn away. I don’t understand…

Sometimes I close my eyes at night and hope I’m not woken up the next day. Sometimes I wonder why I was given my son when I have a mind like this. Sometimes I wish he had a better mom, but I know I can’t change what’s been done.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my boy more than anything. It just worries me that he will grow up and feel the same way I do. I’m not typically one to complain about the way I’m treated, but sometimes it becomes unbearable and I really don’t want him to feel that way.

Sometimes I wish he would never grow up and he would be little forever. Sometimes I wonder how I’ll react to people who treat him the way I’m treated. Sometimes I hope he’s nothing like me, so he doesn’t go through the same things I do.

He deserves so much more and he deserves to be loved and cherished. I feel bad for the person who some day crosses that line with him, because unlike my mom, I’ll stand up and tell them that he doesn’t deserve that and that they should walk away before it ends badly for them.

Sometimes I wonder how I got you, then I remember I must have deserved you…
