Sometimes the pafl fandom experience is making graphics or posting theories and other times it's standing in your living room trying to recall GLaDOS' final speech from Portal 2 because you know you had an idea combining that with the end of COMFORT ZONE which you threw out after LIKE A DOG came out but you kinda wanna turn it over in your brain again for funsies
#and god forbid I ever lose the ability to recite a GLaDOS end game speech from memory#that's the actual most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off fyi Panic! At The Disco#pafl

something about dimas connection to kt throughout the song starting as something relatively small and ending up as something extremely dangerous that could potentially get him killed
#this reminds me of a theory I used to have that dmitry chose to save katya so she could like. be a scapegoat#a bullet shield. a more obvious mutant to take the heat and the blame if things went wrong#I'm pretty sure word of God has disproved this hence I no longer hold said theory#but man what a way for that to backfire if it were the case#pafl

Making your characters insanely OP is good for your soul sometimes. Just juice em up. Just crank the dial. Make them absolutely batshit terrifyingly good at what they do

the thing that hits so different abt this new song (aside from the INSAANEE MIXING WOW) is that its a lot of like. ACTION. yuras done being a shithead quietly, hes out to ruin lives now. a lot of pafl is the characters taking blows and dealing with the consequences, but this song is yura actually stepping up and starting shit. this is the catalyst.

“i used to live there” is such a sad phrase. seeing places u used to live in is an odd thing. It’s like ‘i know where the best hiding place is in there. my bedroom was the one directly to the left as you walk in. i took my first steps on that flooring. i used to play in that yard with my grandma. she died two years ago. that was the only place i ever knew. those walls contain all of my childhood memories. i can no longer go there, but i know every corner like the back of my hand.’

Oh boy, it’s been a while since I’ve made one of these, but I had a thought. Ferry’s post about how Dima and KT would be if they were normal kids had me thinking a little more about KT, and I’d like to present you with a theory: KT (and/or her mutation) feeds off of/is sustained by the consumption of human flesh.
all characters and the story belong to @nopanamaman!
this was thrown together pretty quickly and is mostly just a quick idea I had. I think it has some merit, but always take theories with a grain of salt!
Now, onto the actual post.
In Ferry’s post, we learn that, if she had been normal, KT would have had a twin sister. One point here is twin sister, not a younger one, meaning they were, uh, conceived together.
Then, there’s the fact that i ate my twin in the womb is in the PAFL Season 1 album. There’s also the fact that the melody is, y’know, really similar to 2:41 - 3:04 of KT’s Official Guide To Coolness.
So, we can infer that these two are connected in some way. I think it’s probably pretty safe to assume that mutations develop in the womb, so if her mutation were what made her feed off of flesh, it would explain why she has a sister in a ‘normal’ world, and why the so aptly titled ‘i ate my twin in the womb’ is connected to PAFL and KT specifically.
Back to this moment (the same one as mentioned above) in KT’s Official Guide To Coolness.
“At night Katya is struck by overwhelming hunger.” (PAFL Doc)
We can clearly see the food wrappers lying everywhere around her, so it’s not as if she’s starving. I previously theorized that she was dependent on the Zone and whatever kind of energy it manifests (and so are the other mutants), but it’s entirely possible that it’s because she isn’t getting the food she actually needs, which is human flesh. At this point, she’s been out of the facility for a little while, and she wouldn’t have gone around eating people, so it makes sense that her body would be reacting negatively to not being properly fed.
Then, something that I’ve been racking my brain over for a good while now.
The entire “But what’s this you say? / The merciful lie that / I lived ‘til this day / has crumbled to dust and / there’s no other way / Cause some things are simply / meant to be contained / and one of them is me” section has always intrigued me, because I always wondered how KT’s optimism and strong belief in the fact that she could make a life for herself in the outside world could be so shaken up.
She even admits that Dima was right, despite the fact that the entire song up to that point existed to prove him wrong! (“Oh, I'll prove you wrong / Even if through this cheesy song” VS “So are you happy to be proved right?”)
And adding onto that, we see from Ferry’s KT Q&A post that she also doesn’t want to be saved. It’s not that she thinks she can’t get out on her own, it’s that something made her realize that she can’t get out at all, and that she's 'meant to be contained'.
If she had learned that she ate human flesh when she was taken back, it makes sense as to why she might have such a change of heart. Even if she’s got a manipulative streak, KT’s still a well-intentioned kid, or at least seems that way. She just wants to have friends and hang out and have fun, so much so that she turns away from Dima, asking him if he was afraid of pain (which, go read keingleichgewicht’s post on that moment, it’s really great), opting to venture into the world herself. But here she stands, utterly convinced that she deserves to be kept away.
(Oh, and also, it could explain why her mutation is growing meat out of her body. I mean, all of that meat needs to come from somewhere, doesn’t it?)
And, this is really just a bonus so honestly I doubt it holds any water, but if her mom was Nadya (and her dad Nikita, and so on) it could explain why Nadya died in childbirth, if KT’s mutation feeds off of flesh/other humans, especially if she did eat her twin in the womb. I don’t really know anything about death during childbirth rates in wherever PAFL is set, though, so yeah :P
If anyone has anything to say that adds or takes away from this theory, please go ahead!
#pafl#completely agree and thank you for putting this out there#this makes perfect sense and answers questions I've been thinking about for some time#but it also raises a new question for me...#the facility were happy to terminate Dmitry when he was deemed too much of a liability#is there a reason the facility would keep Katya alive despite the inconvenience of keeping her fed?#if this theory is true then you'd think it would be difficult to maintain her diet#I wonder what else is going on with this

There'll be a moment when you realise you're 27 when yesterday you were just 17; and you wouldn't be able to tell how a decade passed away and your life got divided into before and afters. The fury of youth will subdue and nothing will really change but everything will feel different when you look at old photographs and blurry videos taken on cheap mobile phones. Scents will remind you of childhood and certain friends you don't talk to anymore, hangouts will become reunions and mom's burnt pie will become the best food you ever had. And I know on some days you won't be able to show anything of those 10 years but I hope you remember to breathe, and let go of the knot in your chest. I hope you go out in the sun and live a little, because tomorrow is 37.
Edit- I added the visualizer for this piece on my YT, check it out here
