Pro-tip for fellow depressed people: get a rice cooker. If you have the energy at any point in time, start some rice. 1:1 ratio for jasmine rice, but you can cook pretty much any rice or rice like grain easily in a rice cooker. Rice cookers will switch to 'warm' after the rice is done cooking, and voila, you have a grain ready to eat whenever you have the energy to grab a fork or some chopsticks.
