Wanna guess how old this previously unpublished fan art project I've squirrelled away is? Old enough for me to no longer be satisfied with it! And there's more coming, stay tuned folks. I had fun imagining a DX fantasy au (_input your guess for amount of time here_) ago, and now I'm finally revisiting it and putting it out, thanks in part to my current DnD campaign.

Can't expect someone to take the shape of a human if they don't feel like one. Frank can be nice when he wants to be has to be.

Jensen's quill filaments are attached to skin muscles, like feathers, hair and fur. Accordingly, 'goosebump' reactions associated with cold or shock will cause them to stand on end. Frank finds it useful, since otherwise dragon features are so alien that he's very difficult to read.

Jensen being especially partial to touch is one of my general headcanons. Robotics (or heavy scaling) don't exactly feel very good on your own skin, and don't have as fine-detail of sensory feedback.

I'll maybe? if people want? post how griffons and cerberids and pheons and pantherids work, but tldr, most of the fantasy 'creatures' are zombie-like (they're not decaying, but don't eat, feel pain, or die unless totally beheaded) constructs that don't think on their own: this world's version of robots, just built of flesh and magic. Pritchard can biohack them.

Griffons are designed so that pilots have complete control over their movements. Malik quite literally knows how to fly.

Jaron's dragon form is creepy as shit (might draw it eventually bc I think it's cool, but even I wouldn't like it if I was standing in front of him) bc he's not designed to interact with civilians like Adam is. Not that civilians want anything to do with Adam either, though. Sarif didn't think shit through, and popular opinion on dragons, especially hypermutant fullbodies, has been descending into oblivion thanks to the work of the Tyrants. Deliberate scare tactics and uh, setting cities on fire.
