What if during their adventures, when it gets really emotional or intense, Siren and Kappa just chill out on calmer days when things aren't super urgent and just cuddle and talk and enjoy each other's company to like.. Recharge? (I have a sucky vocabulary) I am in a very fluffy mood. This shall be my headcanon.

That’s sort of touched on in the most recent episode Susca is in. 

Also nobody cares that people are gay or any other sexuality in this world. It’s about as interesting as knowing someone’s favorite color.
