Katniss: Since the games, I’ve been dealing with a lot of trauma to the point I have waking nightmares so I hunt to try to not think about everything.
Gale: That’s not how you say “I love you”, Katniss 😠.

"isn't it unrealistic that every time some rebellion shit goes on in District 12 it's someone related to or connected to Lucy Gray" no because Snow committed the cardinal sin of dating someone from a big family in a small town

The American identity has been tarnished for generations to come. This is not like Germany, when they were forced to foot the bill for something they didn’t start, when money became as worthless as dirt, and when Hitler was chosen for the people, not by the people. We lived in a privileged comfort. Inflation was dropping, life was slowly getting easier, we were moving on from the Pandemic, we reached a progressive high, and then we were given the choice to keep it going. We were given several months to decide which candidate had our best interests in mind.
Kamala Harris, a candidate who would’ve kept the country running and build off of the previous president’s policies and economy. Who was highly qualified for the job, with decades of law and political experience, along with the education to top it all off. She was the gateway to a bright future for Americans.
And then we had Trump. He stated what he would do. He said what he would do. He would catapult hurling balls of fire called tariffs at our neighbors. He wanted to deport every immigrant in the country.
He villianized entire groups of people to support his own political campaign. And he’s legally classified as a felon and by the ones who accused him (and deserve nothing but the best) a predator. We were warned again and again and again what would happen if he were re-elected. A depression, a recession, a humanitarian crisis, marginalized people being stripped of their humanity and their rights, censorship, and the start of the first American Dictatorship, for God’s sake! But we chose him instead.
We actively voted for him. We chose Hell. Now a recession is on the way. Our neighbors are shocked by our cruelty towards decades of peace. European and Asian countries are uniting for the fallout the U.S will bring.
History will be unkind to us. But we deserve it.

Heading into a recession while Congress is fighting over the budget and Canada is retaliating with tariffs on electricity and Elonia is crying over falling Tesla stocks and Measles is worsening and everyone is simultaneously disregarding and regarding what’s happening all while the Dementia Orange is calling it a “transition period” makes it a really, really shitty time to be a young adult.

I’m trying to make plans for the day that the headline drops but it’s so hard to choose between such glorious decisions. I could either scream the wicked bitch is dead like the Redcoats are coming or go out with the besties!

Let these be the photos that mark tonight.
This evening, Rep. Al Green of Texas was forcibly removed from the joint session of Congress by the sergeant-at-arms for standing up and yelling “You have no mandate to cut Medicaid.” during the president’s address.
“He is a person who has consistently used incivility against civility,” Green said.
“I’m willing to suffer whatever punishment is available to me,” he continued. “I didn’t say to anyone, ‘Don’t punish me.’ I’ve said I’ll accept the punishment, but it’s worth it to let people know that there are some of us who are going to stand up against this president’s desire to cut Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security.”
“This is about the people who are being punished by virtue of losing their health care,” he added. “This is the richest country in the world, and we have people who don’t have good health care.” (Per HuffPost)

I am back from the dead. Life since the 20th of January, 2025, has tested the limits of my life force. But I come back with book recommendations. For no particular reason, I swear! Totally don’t recommend these to anyone who is totally not worried about or wishes to learn the current state of things at all ;).
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
1984 by George Orwell.
Surviving Autocracy by Masha Gessen.
Animal Farm by George Orwell.
Parable Of The Sower by Octavia Butler.
Freedom Is A Constant Struggle by Angela Davis (or any of her books, really).
The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank.
Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson.
Babel by R.F Kuang
The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin.
This Book Is Gay by Juno Dawson.
Genderqueer by Maia Kobabe.
All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson.
The Grapes Of Wrath by John Steinbeck.
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Any suggestions to add to this list are welcomed and appreciated! And once again, just a simple list of books with no other purpose other than to be read! Pretend this is about Forth Wing and Onyx Storm 😁

[IMAGE ID: A series of Threads (I think? or Bluesky or Twitter, not sure tbh) from user arosenfield2016:
Boycotts. I've worked corporate retail for twenty years. It's literally my job to know how and why consumers spend. ONE DAY WON'T MEAN SHIT. Stop buying EVERYTHING except essentials. Until further notice. If you're serious about making companies pay attention, long term action is the only way.
Delete all of your retail apps. Unsubscribe from all emails. Go to the actual site and leave site reviews telling them exactly what you're doing and why. Every company tracks NPS scores, consumer sentiment, to direct future plans. Email customer service. Daily.
Fill your carts and abandon them. But don't fill with crazy high ticket ones. Fill with what you would normally purchase. High ticket items they'll ignore as flukes/bots. People whose shopping data they already have, who fill and abandon, they'll pay more attention to.
Not everyone can boycott places like Walmart, I know, I grew up in a super rural area. Research brands they carry that are the lesser of all evils if nothing else and buy those. The big brands will lose market share. They HATE to lose market share. They'll scramble to figure out why and where it's going.
Seeing the impact will take time. Its earnings call season for most retailers who ended their fiscal years on 1/31. We won't see their Q1 2025 results until May. HOLD THE LINE. //END IMAGE ID]

what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?
