And this is what love is......I woke up to the most loving text from my sister from another mother @Shana Anderson-Nute and of course she had to add a picture of me I happen to love........then it came to me. The reason I love that picture is because of my beloved leather jacket. It has been my faithful companion for more than 11 years. When I bought it for a steal at an outlet I thought it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.......but with time it got stained, got wear spots and it did not look so new anymore but that's what makes it mine. It molds to my body, it knows my every curve and even my moods......as a society we seem to be obsessed with eternal youth and newness. There is beauty in really knowing, memories, wrinkles and vulnerability.......that comes with time, going through some real rough patches. My favorite leather jacket is priceless to me, it has accompanied me to many adventures, it knows when to stay quiet and when to laugh with me. Love is inconvenient, a decision, giving, taking, and the commitment to show the real you even when you are not lovable. All that takes time.
