Well, Fuck the Hurricane Harvey Survivors Apparently.

This Hurricane recovery bullshit is stressful. I hate Red Cross and I hate everything that is supposedly aiding those who have suffered from the Hurricane because I'm not convinced they are actually even helping. (and I don't mean smaller fundraisers like celebrities’. I mean organizations specifically for these situations.)

I live near Rockport (you know that place no one talks about that was completely ravaged by the hurricane then flattened by the tornados.) which is near that other flattened island no one knows (because Houston is apparently the only victim according to tv) Aransas Pass. The Mother in Law (who I just consider my mom since my real mom was nonexistent) was a Nurse. I emphasize the "WAS" now because her place of work WAS in Aransas. I was looking for a job and had an interview lined up WHILE we were evacuated. I called back the moment we got cell service in the area (which I'm not even 100% they left me the right number) to reschedule and they never called me back. Well, they opened the business and filled the position so i feel epicly unhelpful. Mama Welsch's stress is through the roof because her husband died 2 years ago and she feels pretty on her own when it comes to paying for the home and everything.

Our roof shingles are shot, the A.C. stopped working and is functioning again currently but the electrician said "it could go out any day without warning. Like, even tomorrow. It needs to be replaced." Our fence was completely gone and since we have dogs we rebuilt the fence ourselves and paid for the fence which the landlord of the neighboring house was too cheap to help pay and too much of an asshole to help out setting it up even though he has an income and she doesn't. We have a broken window, water damage, and more cracks and rots that we keep discovering every day. Insurance will only give us PART of the cost of... EVERYTHING because (and this is right out of their mouths) things like our roof "weren't brand new therefor depreciated in value." Which I think is so weird since Insurance price doesn't decrease as your home ages, it just increases... So how come they won't cover the cost. You're paying out the ass for a discount rather than a safety net. Part of the fence was new but since not all of it was brand spanking new... It doesn't matter that Mom doesn't have a job anymore and WAS the only REAL income for this household and that the lack of shingles is causing MORE damages on the rainy days. TO ADD ON TO IT Red Cross has denied us for assistance because apparently our home has to be completely gone for us to be suffering, and her not having a job doesn't come into consideration. These as well as other "helpful" things like DSNAP not being helpful at all. We found out you could get DSNAP which is financial aid specifically for groceries due to a disaster... but on the day it ended. Which seems ridiculously soon. I don't know about you but if I don't have electricity, or clean water, a down tree was blocking every entrance to my home, and every gas station has an hour wait if they have gas at all... I wouldn't even think to immediately think to pull out the magically fully charged laptop to search up on google what benefits I was getting. Oh they heard about that? They extended the deadline for DSNAP one more day!!!! Buuuuutttt... only for the only county in the area that wasn't under Mandatory Evacuation. Mom tried to go anyway to see if they could help her out but they told her it was only for the people in the coincidentally least damaged county in the area. Meanwhile Mom's Sister's home was completely undamaged as well as her husband is there to help and her job is untouched.... but got approved for Red Cross and is receiving financial assistance. We're not upset with the Aunt, we're just  REALLY depressed and pissed of at these stupid organizations.

My boyfriend (unofficial fiance) is a veteran currently working as a cashier but he's hurting on funds because the hurricane jumped from a storm to a Category 4/Mandatory Evac so quickly that he spent SO much on wood/jugs of water/other survival supplies/a new tire because his popped on the journey out of town... and we also have a dog that's being trained as his service dog (he fought in Afghanistan and has some problems along with being half deaf that the military refused to put on record because then god forbid he could receive financial aide for risking his life on the battlefield and  being damaged because of it) but our dog has both food and external allergies which our vet can't test for and said we have to take him to a human dermatologist to find out. We can't afford that, whatever fix for his allergies we may get, stuff to treat his ear infections, his $60 dog food (because one of his allergies we've determined to be chicken) as well as his upcoming vaccinations... ALL AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE OF THIS DAMN HURRICANE. Oh. Did I mention I'm paying back my student loans for a $50,000 college? I applied for forbearance due to the Hurricane but at the rate of how everything's going.... I'm not holding my breathe. I'm not even the owner of the home so I can't/don't have to directly deal with a lot of the home stuff but Idk if the fact that I'm sorta unhelpful at all is stressing me even more than the situation itself or what. I don't want my Mom to cry any more. I feel so useless and hopeless and just... overall abused and used by the very systems supposed to help us.

So I was on Wish shopping and I found the BEST Miraculous toys in THE WORLD. Look at the Bubbler’s hands. Look at the Adrien one. Why is his hair black??? Cat Noir’s ears???? Why do they have shields???? Honestly it gets better the more you look at it and I haven’t stopped laughing in fifteen minutes.
