In the shadows?
LMAO
Get out of here with the anti- nonsense, it's so destructive and unnecessary. I already made a post about the first rule of fandom (hint: it's "Do not be an asshole to the creators") but the second rule of fandom is "Don't like, don't read."
There's a lovely and broad array of tools that will let you pretend like anything you don't like doesn't even exist and you never even have to interact with it! It's like magic! And the best part is, it means that you're not being an asshole to people who are just trying to enjoy themselves!
Look, I understand that some people feel like they have to define their personal self-worth by making themselves the guardians of an ill-defined culture of purity mostly based on "this makes me feel icky." Some people cannot understand the difference between fiction and reality, and some worse people claim that they can, but they are concerned about the virtue of imaginary potential people who might not be able to do so and thus must be protected at all costs. Some people just believe that the world should curate itself into a walled garden for them, so they do not have to curate for themselves. All of these people are wrong, and I really hope that most of them eventually grow out of it.
There are rules for good fandom shipping behavior, of course they are. The biggest one is tagging. Everybody should use tags liberally, and nobody should be offended when people use tags to filter out what they don't want to read. That's what they're for! The second biggest is keeping stuff where it belongs. Many creators don't want anything to do with shipping, so keep it in fandom spaces and away from creator spaces. Make it something they'd actually have to look for. Do not bring any form of shipping (OR SHIPPING DISCOURSE, you weirdo boundary-askers) to creators' channels or streams. And the last big one is to mind your own business. You love what you love, let other people love what they love, don't start wars and don't throw shade. There's enough room for everybody.
So Anon, listen up. Nobody is making you ship, and you have no right or reason to stop others from doing so. Take it easy. Let a thousand flowers bloom. Live and let live. Mind the tags. Don't open the bag with the dead dove. And most especially, don't like? Don't read.
there's so many proshippers lurking in the shadows in this fandom
dont bring this slapfight to our blog white devil so help me lord

Once upon a time, there was a cave, and there was a tree.
Oh, that's not how most people like to start to tell the story. The thing about telling stories is that it's often easiest to start from the ending. From tumbling down cliffsides and rings of cactus and dying just barely out of reach of your king, just barely after him. Of things constantly burning, of the first time being the first to die, of bunkers in the desert and a group of five standing around an enchanting table, waving a flag. Of clocks, and betrayals, and things that weren't actually betrayals (even though they seem like they should be), of firing squads--
That is not how the story starts.
It doesn't even start with a creeper, although I would guess if you asked them about it, more than one of them would probably say it did.
No, if I were to tell the story, I would tell it like this:
Once upon a time, there was a cave. Everyone had gathered in it, with crafting tables and beds. They were being attacked by phantoms. They're chatting about how to solve the phantom problem, because they are friends. They step outside to kill the phantoms, because they can, and because it's funnier, and because they don't know how to be afraid yet.
Once upon a time, there is a tree. It grows right under one of them, trapping them in its branches. "Help!" she cries out. "What's happened?" Everyone scrambles to help cut down the tree together. When she escapes, they all agree it was a close call. It would be awfully silly, they think, for someone to die this soon, and besides, aren't they all working together?
They go back inside and they laugh. They are all green. None of them have an idea of what happens when they aren't any longer. They are all happy.
This changes. It also doesn't.
I start this story with the tree because they all, together, agree that the tree is ridiculous and silly, but all help to cut it down anyway. I start this story with the tree because by the end--
Well. My point is that the tree is a far happier story, in my opinion. My point is also, maybe, that starting with what it would become, well, that won't do at all. Starting with the part of the story that's sad, dramatic, ridiculous--that rather misses the point.
The point is that it started with a cave, and a tree, and everything else came collapsing down after it. It's easy to bury the memory of a time it would be safe to all hide in a cave together, laughing, and save one another from a tree.
It does not do to forget.

people don’t talk about it enough but desertduo/scarian is inherently abusive and shouldn’t be shipped or platformed. Specifically Thirdlife is the biggest culprit but their dynamic in general is just. Toxic and bad.
But like in Thirdlife their relationship is incredibly abusive. The power imbalance between Grian and Scar makes it where the two of them CANNOT be shipped together without it being morally wrong. Grian’s life was in Scar’s hands that entire series, Scar could (and did) hold that over his head. Heck multiple people talked about “rescuing” Grian and it was framed almost as a hostage situation. None of Grian’s choices were his own and I do not think a ship based off of that could be moral and sound in any way. Scar even did kill Grian at the end over a piece of paper, showing how much he valued Grian’s life.
The cactus ring shouldn’t be framed as an end to a tragic love story, but as a victim taking power back and killing their abuser. Scarian fans genuinely should go touch grass and realize they shouldn’t be romanticizing this kind of thing.

Joe's Hot Ones experience
Transcript under the cut:
Joe: um, NopeQueen says, "everyone dying in the Hot Ones and then Joe and Pearl just snacking was amazing." Yeah, I--that's one thing--yeah, Cleo, I was talking to, uh, the late night crew about that last night. They were like, 'Joe, what happened with the chicken?' And I was just like, okay, well here's the thing: Nashville is famous for having really spicy chicken. Like, that's just what we eat here. Everybody else, for some reason, eats chicken from Kentucky. But...we don't. So--I was expecting, though, cause people were really talked up this Hot Ones thing like crazy. Cleo: Yeah. Joe: I was like, I'm gonna-I'm gonna get over--walk over there, and get absolutely like, thrashed by this. Cleo: Gonna get wrecked-- Joe: And it's gonna-- Cleo: --Cause you started at like, level nine, didn't you? Joe: I started at level seven. But yeah, I was like, uh--cause I was gonna get tagged in by somebody else when they tagged out. And they lasted longer than they expected to. So I'm like, okay, I'm coming in at level seven, Impulse says level seven in a lot of ways is the worst one. And so I'm just gonna--gonna walk over there and get wrecked. And it's gonna be hilarious. And--I just started eating it, and I'm like, this is just chicken, like, I mean, it had s--the sauce on it, but like I'm like, this is just how we eat chicken, where I'm from. (Cleo giggles) Well, maybe the next level will be hotter? And I'm like...this is still just hot chicken. Joe: Same thing, like, level ten--and, um, apparently too I've been eating chicken wrong, according to the audience. Cause, um, everybody's just like, y'know, cause I mentioned like, yeah, I could-- Cleo: You just chowed down from that. Joe: Yeah. And I said though, I could tell that it's spicy, that's why I had to drink two cans of Coke, and they're like, Joe, you're not supposed to drink Coke with chicken that's spicy. And I'm like, I know, but it was a kid's charity event so I couldn't have beer. And they're like, no, you're not supposed to have carbonation with spicy chicken. And I'm like, what? I-I didn't know this! I've been eating spicy chicken with carbonation for years! Apparently I'm doing it wrong, I must be bad at chicken. Uh-- Cleo: Joe Hills, bad at chicken. Joe: Yeah, yeah. So, I was-I was actually just kinda, like--I was really expecting to--I was like, this is one of those things where I'm overconfident, and I'm gonna get wrecked. Cleo: Yeah. By rights you should be-- Joe: And it's gonna be hilarious-- Cleo: You should've been. Joe: It's gonna--it's gonna be hilarious, but it's for charity, y'know, let's go. And I was just like-- Cleo: You were just like, nah, I'm hungry. Joe: That was the other thing, I was--I legitimately hadn't eaten, I was starving, uh, and so I was just like, 'oh this is--' Cleo: This is just nice chicken. Joe: It was--yeah, it was great. Uhm--

remember how I said one dollar counted? the dollar drive martyn started just now just raised about 20k in about 5 minutes. remember this not just for THIS charity stream, but for EVERY charity you want to consider donating to. if everyone who heard “can you give a dollar” and had a dollar free gave one, you can raise HUGE amounts. this goes for everything from this stream for gamer’s outreach to UNWRA to the trevor project to wikipedia to whatever cause you think is important. if you just give a dollar you can do incredible things!
