One thing I do like about it is how the Longi society isnt just one-dimensional or portrayed as the "good" dolphins in contrast with the "barbaric" bottlenoses. The Longi represent a culture that ignores all the bad things happening around them and casts out anyone too different from them including any other species and their own mentally ill/disabled members of their society. Ea is told every day to just "keep trying" to get over her disability instead of acknowledging that some people just cant do the same things. Their culture revolves a lot around toxic positivity to the point that when they DO acknowledge negativity, its in the form of a designated group breaking down and comforting each other and then everyone just forgets about it all the next day and shoves it under the rug. They dont question the fact that theres less food and their environment is changing and that people from the outside are warning them of their doom until it shows up at their home and they're forced to leave.

The Tursiops acknowledge that they are fucked but their society became corrupted in their crisis and now they are a dictatorship thats addicted to substances and is getting fed by mysterious humans because they cant hunt. They practice eugenics and throw out/kill people and calves who are weak or disabled or speak out against their government. They dont try to find any better way of existing until they too are all getting massacred and have to flee.

Niche thing that annoys me is the amount of furries who think "anthro" just translates to "twolegs" and talking, singing, eyebrow-having animals like Spirit the stallion or Simba arent anthro because of their body shape

yeah so that whole painting over the pulse memorial in the dead of the night like cartoon villains reminded me of that time before the start of my senior year in highschool

when my school higherups decided to bulldoze over the memorial of the marjory stoneman douglas shooting and trash every donation and letter that people had left there and kill all the flowers that were planted because the generation of kids who were freshmen during the shooting were about to graduate. i was 14 and in the middle school next door when it happened

their reasoning for destroying it was that they didnt want it to look like we were holding on to trauma and bad memories and come on kiddies its time to shut the hell up about those 17 children and adults who got massacred because we need to move on and restore our public image. at this point the building that the shooting actually happened in hadn't been torn down yet and wouldnt be for another few years, so all that was left to remind us of the shooting was that massive, empty, filthy tomb of a building where they died in lol

well they underestimated our collective rage and the instant backlash from alumni and students and families and teachers was so severe that they let people rebuild the memorial and its still untouched now. i guess trashing a memorial put together mostly by grieving children and families was worse for their precious reputation than letting it stand as it was

i dont really know what im trying to say with this. both of these memorials were to honor victims of mass shootings in florida. instead of making sure something like this never happens again they just want to bury it under the rug for political sensibilities. this government is more comfortable with the existence of mass shootings than it is with memorials for said shootings

i was at the zoo food court and these ibis birds were beating each other up over food and some children were watching them and chanting "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" like it was a fight club

is there some kind of psychological reason why a lot of animal/furry artists like myself find the human face to be so hard to draw

im not even one of those furries who can only draw wolves or a few species, i can and do draw any animal including primates, but the human face is such a difficult face to draw, its so flat but has so much depth at the same time

And here she is colored I named her Talita since thats a cute name. shes a White Winged dove That necklace brings out her eyes, do you think so?

This was also me trying out drawing avian-anthros since everyone kinda has their own take on them. columbiformes (doves/pigeons) have deep chests, but hers is also round because of the extra muscles attaching her wings, located under her pectoral/arm muscles. she has a stocky build charactseristic of columbiformes

in my state they started banning books in schools under the guise of protekting teh childrun from what they called "sexually explicit content" and it was a bunch of stories that talk of history and racism and misogyny and anything LGBT related and i feel like im continually falling down a flight of stairs seeing this repeat itself over and over, and still all these leftists and queer people who look at where we are headed and go "oh well as long as it bans these ICKY GROSS THINGS i hate then im fine with it!" censorship is an axe and you are throwing yourself on it
