Writing Notes: Clothing Textures
When you think of textured clothing, you might imagine a scratchy wool sweater or a soft fur coat, but every clothing item has some kind of texture. The texture of fabric is often determined by the type of weave, so it’s a good idea to get to know the 3 major weave types:
Twill: The distinguishing characteristic of the twill weave is its diagonal rib pattern. Twill weaves have a distinct, often dark-colored front side (called the wale) and a lighter back. Twill has high thread count, which means that the fabric is opaque, thick, and durable, making it perfect for chinos, upholstery, and bed linens. Denim is a twill weave fabric, as are tweed and houndstooth.
Satin weave: The satin weave creates a fabric that is shiny, soft, and elastic with a beautiful drape. Satin fabric has a lustrous surface on one side and a dull, matte surface on the other side. Satin is perfect for haute couture-style dresses and clutches.
Plain weave: Plain weave fabrics, including canvas, taffeta, and muslin, are made by overlapping the warp and weft (vertical and horizontal threads) at right angles. This forms a criss-cross pattern that looks the same on both sides of the fabric.
Common Fabric Textures
The types of fabric you’ll encounter when looking for different textures include:
Denim is a strong cotton fabric with a twill weave that gives it a subtle diagonal ribbing pattern. The diagonal ribbing is what makes denim fabric different from canvas or cotton duck, which are also sturdy, woven cotton fabrics.
Broadcloth is a plain-weave fabric that is traditionally woven from thick wool yarn—the fibres of which felt together as the cloth is made. Broadcloth is sturdy, stiff, and resistant to wind and water.
Seersucker is a type of thin cotton cloth. The way it is woven causes the threads to pucker and bunch, creating crinkles. Seersucker often comes in narrow white and blue stripes and is popular in summer fashion.
Corduroy is a soft, durable fabric. It is distinctive for the tufted cords—called “wales”—that run in parallel along its surface. Corduroy is typically made from cotton, but it can also be made from wool.
Leather is any fabric that is made from animal hides or skin, with cowhide being the most popular.
Suede is a type of leather made from the soft underside of an animal skin. It is softer, thinner, and more delicate than traditional full-grain leather. Suede is ideal for footwear, jackets, and accessories like belts and bags.
Brocade is a particular style of jacquard fabric that uses additional threads to create a raised pattern, resulting in an embossed or embroidered effect. Due to the technique used to make it, brocade fabric is not reversible, and it may appear rough or unfinished on the underside.
Silk is a natural fiber produced by the silkworm. Silk is incredibly durable, with a shine and softness that are unmatched. Silk fabric is used for formal attire and accessories like pocket squares.
Cashmere is a type of fabric made from the wool of cashmere goats and pashmina goats. Cashmere is a natural fiber with an extremely soft feel and great insulation. Cashmere is significantly warmer and lighter than cloth made from sheep’s wool. Often, cashmere is blended with other types of wool, like merino, to give it added weight, since cashmere fibers are very fine and thin.
Jersey is a soft, stretchy knit fabric that was originally made from wool. Today, jersey is also made from cotton, cotton blends, and synthetic fibers. The fabric is usually light-to-medium weight and is used for a variety of cotton clothing items, such as T-shirts.
Flannel is a soft woven fabric typically made from cotton. It is a common material for plaid shirts.
How to Mix and Match Clothing Textures
Texture is an easy way to add visual interest to an outfit. By layering different textures, you can create a distinct look.
Identify neutral textures. Mixing and matching textures is similar to mixing and matching patterns and prints. In the same way that certain classic prints appear neutral, simple textures can serve as a neutral base for wilder textures. Denim, cotton fabric, leather, and suede are some of the most basic textures that play well with other textures. Neutral textures that are smaller and less visible to the naked eye—like merino wool—pair well with more attention-grabbing textures.
Consider a texture’s typical context. Textures evoke specific moods. Silk lends a luxurious vibe to any outfit. A plaid flannel shirt can look cozy with corduroy, but it becomes more serious when paired with a black leather jacket. Denim is a casual texture you can use to dress down other fabrics: Pair a satin tank with jeans—rather than something like brushed wool trousers—for a relaxed yet stylish look. Think about the context in which you might wear a particular material, then pair that material with other textures to subvert expectations.
Mix textures, match colors. Sticking to a more limited color palette will give you free range to play with different kinds of textures. That doesn’t mean you have to dress in monochrome: You can use neutral colors to anchor your look, or choose two or three solid colors that work together.

UTDR names, and a related study on Asterisk -Pt.2
Since it's very likely Gaster, Frisk, and Kris are all characters Toby derived from the namesake of the asterisk symbol,
it means as usual for UTDR character names, there is meaning in their names.
W.D. Gaster:
Still guessing why add a G in front of aster & what that G means, the "G" could be taken from the last G of Wingding but grammatically it makes very little sense.
(Maybe it stands for Game? Game Master- are u kidding me. Gaster does fit the role of a GM for Deltarune, if it rly was planned imma riot-)
Also, according to: https://gidasflowers.com/about-us/flower-meanings/ , Aster is a purple flower that stands for:
"Wisdom, Faith, and Valor. Named after the Greek word for "Star" due to its blooms resembling a star,"
^ Again, star shaped imagery.
(and that now I think of it, those 3 character traits:
"Wisdom, Faith, and Valor",
fits Ralsei, Kris, and Susie suspiciously well respectively...)
Possible related G- words:
Game
Guess
Guide
Guideline
Gamble (as in a risky experiment)
Frisk:
For this name I'm guessing it's:
"F(irst)"+"risk/-isk(aka vessel)"
= 1st vessel
= Frisk
or, F(aith) from 1 of the 3 meanings of the Aster flower, where
Faith = Determination.
Possible F- or Fr- words:
First
Faith
Kris:
This one is a strange one, is it just straight on derived from the latter part of the word with "K" moved to the front, which means they're more connected to Gaster & maybe also the Player than Frisk is but is trying to resist it, I guess?
Or since -isk is rearranged/broken up, maybe different/broken vessel? or that Kris is more of a Player's vessel than Frisk is cause most components are derived from the word Asterisk?
Also, there's something interesting about the prefix & the suffix of "Asterisk":
The "-isk" suffix means it belongs/is after the manner of it's prefix;
And "aster-" = Star, which means the word, asterisk, means "star-like"
...yea Gaster is definitely very, Very linked to stars. (Even the Wingdings font have a star symbol for the letter "Y".)
And by association of the word and using the "-isk" suffix in their name,
Frisk and Kris are basically named "Vessel"(s),
which take after whoever they are connected to, exactly like how suffixs work
("xx -isk" = "just like xx",
where in the context of the game, "xx" is whoever the player is, aka Player-like/just like the Player)
They are also linked to Gaster in some way given their names come from the same word; but it's most likely because they're all connected to the Player.
So yea in short, toby pretty much named:
Chara=Character,
and Frisk&Kris=a suffix/Player's vessel.
Truly the master of a play on words.

UTDR names, and a related study on Asterisk -Pt.1
So another day, I saw a tumblr username when browsing and realised something about the sources of names for 3 certain characters:
Asterisk was probably where the names Frisk, Kris, and W.D. Gaster came from.
This means that the 3 are all extremely connected due to this naming logic, and that Toby highly likely planned this given his love for in-game wordplay.
What does Asterisk mean? From what I found in https://www.dictionary.com/browse/asterisk and a few other search results, the definitions of Asterisk is:
1. "A small starlike symbol (*), used in writing and printing as a reference mark or to indicate omission, doubtful matter, etc."
^ The 3 characters likely has something hidden that we don't know about,
especially in Gaster's case where he's highly likely to commit omission of information towards a lotta people for his experiment to work,
which may or may not include the player and the rest of the UTDR cast.
2. "Ungrammatical or otherwise unacceptable by native speakers of a language"
^ Who are Gaster, Frisk, & Kris all commonly connected to? The Player. All 3 of them are The Anomaly in both game worlds, or is/are connected to The Anomaly=The Player themselves;
Also it basically describes Gaster's speech & writing style,
if entry 17, "garbage noise", and all the instances of Wingdings appearance do belong to him.
3. "Hypothetical or reconstructed form that is not attested in a text or inscription."
^ Whether either by a storytelling perspective or a meta sense, the 3 are not originally part of the Undertale and Deltarune world,
and Gaster IS an extremely hypothetical and reconstructed being in both his personality & his current body state ("shattered across time and space").
4. Also just commonly known as a symbol used to indicate annotation & footnotes
^ Aka in most common cases, add-ons to an essay/paragraph;
if applied it to the trio's situation, it could mean the nature of those 3 are foreign inserts into the game,
or that they are connected to the Player= aka the Anomaly of their worlds, who's presence is "being added" into the game
So why do stars/starlike symbols matter in UTDR? It's because of the relations the star motif has to the Player, Gaster, Kris, and Frisk.
Savepoints(/Determination)
Sans mentioned wanting to see real stars
Asriel's final phase attacks
Entry no.17 that is in Wingdings which has star symbol(just 1, but it's there) & very likely to be written by Gaster
and also the titans' eyes.
(Granted most are 4 or 6-point stars instead of 5-point stars, but they are still stars/star symbols.)
All in all,
Stars are also a huge motif besides water that is significant in utdr regarding:
Determination/save points
Gaster
Player involvement
and basically any otherworldly-to-native-utdr-universe stuff.

A very long UTDR Theory
I think I figured out something, or at least cleared out some subconsciously-aware-but-not-fully-established connections regarding UT&DR(, which I have a feeling some of the utdr community knows already and I'm figuring this out just now, but imma still post to clear my thoughts for a bit).
Remember how the Undertale official website says Deltarune is intended for ppl who's fully finished playing Undertale, and that Toby Fox made Undertale as an introduction game to Deltarune, and the 2 games can't be seen as mutually exclusive?
I feel like I understand these 2 statements a bit more now, what I think Toby is saying is that,
The whole of Undertale is The TutorialTM for Deltarune.
There is another reason(besides color theory) why battle encounters are in black and white, Undertale itself is a relatively very black-and-white morals and rules kinda game.
Everything's very clean-cut, it's either right or wrong, righteous or evil, etc etc. just like what you would see in a children's book or a children's mindset.
But in Deltarune, there's no black&white battle encounters anymore, or at least not much of black and white places, because similar to a teen's mindset, it's more developed/enriched & grown up to be able to see the world in more different shades of colors, hence the colorful battle encounters.
You are also technically told you're given more freedom but reality tells you it's actually quite limited (examples: Jevil in a cage thinking he's free, Spamton bound to strings of someone else's control and getting even more trapped from resisting, Kris's whole soul-controlled-by-player situation, Susie denying the choice option twice), just the vibe one gets when exploring expanded range of choices, learning & dealing with its following consequences.
Think of Undertale as a children's story book, for children like Frisk's age, to understand basic concepts;
while Deltarune is kinda the early teen novels, for Kris's age, to understand more advanced concepts.
But then why is this important for what's happening in both games? Why does it matter?
Toby's using Undertale to teach us how to play Deltarune.
Remember how in all 3 types of routes, Flowey, Sans, & Chara(coincidentally red&yellow&blue colored) all have something important to say directly to the player, not Frisk?
They are the 3 Messengers, or, the 3 Big Blaring, Warning Signs who carries the messages/warnings sent from Toby Fox to the Player.
And the most prominent message that all 3 convey is this: You are not above consequences in his games/fictional worlds. All actions have consequences, and you have been fairly warned, multiple times(e.g. Chara's whole appearance sequence in Geno route & the photo post-Geno Pacifist route, Sans' judgments & phonecalls & diner meetings, Flowey's tips about what could be done to achieve Pacifist route after Neutral runs & the talk about how Sans gave him a bad time for being cruel in previous resets not unlike a time police; in short, the signs were always there in all routes).
And the game Knows what you are in the dark.
There is also a slightly more specific message per each character:
Flowey: You are given the freedom to make choices in this(my) world(especially the power to Save, Load, Reset &/ Maim), but beware, your actions will have consequences.
Sans: If you treat us(my characters&world) with respect, you'll have an enjoyable journey as a reward. (Also that he embodies the "Don't forget"&"I'm with you in the dark(to watch over&on you)" side of Toby & his games)
Chara: But be warned, you will be punished for unnecessary cruelty via crap gameplay experience. The Choice is yours. =)
(Granted, the 3 characters technically overlap in some of the messages but these are what is most linked themes/message to the respective characters)
Going into Deltarune, The game in general(or Toby, in a way), tells us "your choices doesn't matter."
This is where the "Undertale sets up the groundwork for Deltarune" part comes into play: (yes, it was also to introduce you to some of the characters first so Toby doesn't hafta info dump you on whomst-the-fuk all these characters are, but that wasn't the only reason for it)
The choice has always(mostly, actually) been yours. Then, do those choices matter?
The answer is both Yes & No, depending on how you interpret the question, as it is vague in a way that it could be interpreted in more than 1 ways, which is where the thinking trap is.
If you interpret it as "our decisions & actions will not change the ending of the game", then Yes, I personally believe it doesn't change the ending.
BUT, If you interpret it as "our decisions & actions won't affect Anything in game", then No, it does affect a lot of things(besides the final ending, is what I think).
There is already a Pacifist vs Snowgrave route that can be caused by our choices, the game doesn't railways everyone who plays the game to go on the same route. And even if one were to argue that wasn't deltarune, deltarune still gives different outcomes according to what we did, like how others respond to Kris's ooc-ing and out-of-norm actions, character relations, and so on(but I'll stop here for examples cuz it will go on for a while), eitherway the point stands:
The answer to "Does our choice matter?", in my opinion, is:
"No(it very likely doesn't change the final ending), but also Yes(choices affects certain parts of the game, e.g. routes, gameplay experience, etc.)"
The problem with the question the "choice doesn't matter"statement poses is that it is such a Yes and No question, that for people who have played or experienced Undertale,
it is giving mixed signals and befuddling people, especially to the ones who aren't fully aware of the important theme(s) of the predecessor game(Undertale), or is unable to respond to the unspoken question in more than 1 perspective as seen above.
With so much seemingly conflicting and confusing information floating about, it is easy to forget that the core message, or rather the somewhat non-outright spoken rules Toby's wrtten into Undertale still applies in Deltarune, which is likely why "Don't forget" is also such an important line that goes from Undertale all the way to Deltarune, cause Toby's reminding us to not forget about what was taught from Undertale about treating his games and beloved characters right and do the same in Deltarune. (He does seem to love his concepts aka the games he created a whole lot & put a lot of thought into it, even makes sure the players don't get away scoot-free if they intentionally harm his characters, it feels pretty much same with UU's mangaka who also loves their creations a whole lot, and doesn't let even angst for the plot progression to "harm" their characters with angst too much, done in a logical way no less)
"Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark" seem even more personal (and scary, if you weren't behaving in-game *wink*) if we see that as a message from Toby to the Players now, doesn't it? It's also seems kinda a test to see if the players have understood what was learnt in Undertale, & also be able to understand what it actually means in Deltarune. I guess UTDR has actually always been kinda like a mind game in a way.
Congrats for reaching the end of the post! Here, have a complementary meme template.

UU Character Study: Definition of Love
Continuing from this, since their beliefs affects how they view what love is to them, it means that the Negator's power (sometimes, also the when & where of the power activation) is also linked to their method of loving others /showing love /what their definition of love is.
Andy: My dream remains Undead=I will not give up my dream to die
Fuuko: it's Unlucky for you to fall for me/you're Unlucky you fell for me (cuz you literally can't fall for any other now xd)
Gina: Please stay the same=Let your love for me remain Unchanged (she prefers people/things she love to be Unchanging, probably why she fell for Undead who "doesn't change")
(manga & later anime episode spoliers below cut:)
Victor: Undying love=My love for you won't die
Akira/Anno Un: as in his love for the characters was Unknown by the world (technically only god knows, literally)
Billy: Billy's love is Unfair (towards both himself and others, just like how his powers is the first that appears in the series that can self-target & target others at the same time), as Fuuko had said so herself canonically in manga

Undead Unluck actors AU, Part. 3
The Koala formation/piggyback rides:
It's becoming common in the show (there's at least 4 duos who do this), plus princess carries on some scenes, this means the one who carries the other is gonna have to learn how to carry the other correctly so they don't hurt themselves and the one they are carrying, right?
Which also means whoever is the base/tree And the one being carried/koala for those formation gotta go on classes together on how to do that, plus weight control/endurance training
And the idea of them posting about their training on learning how to give the best piggy back rides and competing with each other about that on their social media is kinda humorous
Just imagining the ones who doesn't give piggyback rides in-show joining in on the fun as well and have a piggyback competition or selfie, it'd be fun
There was likely a piggy back ride test in the interviews for getting the roles in the UU cast, which confused the interviewees but they ultimately went "so That's what it was for!" when they were given the script,
and was keeping it in until the show aired due to NDA of not telling anyone not related to the show about the script since the script is filled to the brim with spoilers and plot twists
Which led to the cast & any fan who knew about the plot already(if it existed as a novel/manga in-universe before it was televised) trying Very HardTM to keep the spoilers from reaching the internet
