Hay varios sistemas reticulares que nos otorgan diferentes esqueletos y formas de organización de nuestros contenidos. Teniendo esto en cuenta a la hora de trabajar en nuestros proyectos deberemos escoger la solución más acertada. Retícula de una columna: Esta estructura es empleada para presentar textos largos y continuos como por ejemplo libros o informes. Posee márgenes bastante amplios, su objetivo es transmitir tranquilidad, calma y hacer el proceso de lectura fluido ya que este tipo de formatos suelen presentar grandes masas de texto y nuestros lectores deben seguirlas con cierto orden y coherencia visual. En el caso de que utilicemos márgenes extremadamente finos o delgados transmitiremos sensaciones de tensión y una estética demasiado masificada y concentrada. Es en los marcadores donde aparecerán los títulos de los capítulos, la paginación o las notas al pie de página por ejemplo. Cuál es la función de las páginas en blanco en los libros y por qué te cautivará “Son espacios que contienen dedicatorias, dibujos, caricaturas, anotaciones de trabajo… Estas anotaciones son un valor añadido de una trascendencia no siempre valorada. Individualizan al ejemplar, le dan personalidad y nos hablan de una historia paralela, en ocasiones, mucho más vibrante que el propio texto”. El que habla así es Arsenio Sánchez, restaurador de la Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE), y premio Nacional de Restauración y Conservación de Bienes Culturales. Se refiere a esas páginas en blanco, al principio o al final de la obra, llamadas páginas de cortesía o de respeto, que separan el bloque de texto de las hojas de guarda (esas que sirven para ocultar las partes menos estéticas de la encuadernación). Un ejemplo es un poema manuscrito de Lord Byron que se encontró en una de las páginas en blanco de un libro de 1810. Book cover design may greatly impact your readers’ buying decisions. No matter if they’re buying on Amazon or at a bookstore, the first thing your target customers will see is the cover of your book. Stay true to the book. First, you need to set clear goals when designing the cover. It needs to align with the topic you’re writing about. For example, creating a book cover for a horror story and a romantic novel is not the same, right? Based on your genre, narrative, and the emotions you want to evoke in a reader, you need to choose the adequate font, visuals, and color palettes. Double spread intro. Here is where good old “double page layouts” or “double page spread layouts” come into the spotlight. They have been used since forever, however what’s nice about them is that they never get old. You can always add new elements, use new techniques, and create something fresh. A simple definition of a double page spread states that it represents two pages treated as one in a publication, with images or text extending across the binding. The whole image (meaning both pages) has to be unitary and suggestive. Even though a double page layout is meant to break the monotony of a publication, it also has to be in perfect harmony with the rest of the editorial layout.
