it's the most accurate adaptation of greek myths i've ever seen (and yes, i believe it's better than percy jackson even if it has my whole heart).

as an autistic person with a greek mythology special interest, i am obsessing over the care for the details they put

example: Pasiphae, Ariadne's mother, was in the myths the mother of the Minotaur because, to say it very poorly, she fucked a sacred cow. So Ariadne's brother was the Minotaur. And she also had a brother named Glaucus (i have to research if they're twins or not)

Caeneus being trans, the whole Troy thing (which i adored because i think it's both heartbreaking and a smart as fuck way to tell the myth), the Seven Trojans in the maze, Orpheus being a singer and convincing Persephone to let Eurydice go because "she likes his songs", the scene in the last episode where outside the underworld Eurydice begs Orpheus to look at her, Hades and his wife being the only ones with fucking logical thinking in their whole family, even the fact that everyone is gay it's somehow myth accurate

the only thing that i really don't like is the fact that they made Hera cheat on Zeus, she's the goddess of marriage and because of that she has never and would never cheat on her husband, even if she clearly doesn't like Zeus (still, i loved the way she behaved, "you're the king but i am the queen" was PERFECT to me)

so yeah basically go watch Kaos because it's neat and i love it and greek mythology and yeah

Predictions for August 2024:

August 3rd: Kamala Harris has a highly publicised meeting with Taylor Swift were they publicly discuss politics with Swift showing surprising knowledge and eloquence . This is followed by very serious speculation from several outlets that Swift will be chosen to run as VP as a way to attract young voters . This is of course not true but a tactic from the Harris campaign to increase visibility with young people to and to bait Trump

August 5th: Trump takes the bait and launches into a truly vile attack on Taylor Swift

August 12th: An angry mob of Taylor Swift fans numbering in the hundreds storms a Trump meet and greet and following Dutch tradition they lynch him publicly and then cannibalise his body

August 20th: Yellowjackets and several others shows that feature cannibalism are cancelled because it’s considered insensitive in light of an US President becoming victim of cannibalism

August 30th : Brazil does extremely well at the Olympics

underrated yellowjackets scene is misty storming through the door of nat‘s hotel room while nat is mid-relapse, bodyslamming nat into next week, just fucking snorting all the cocaine before nat can get to it and then fighting for her fucking life because, evidently, misty quigley has never done cocaine ever before. zero thought process, zero consideration, zero alternatives. misty quigley woman of all time.

The hunger games weren't mandatory to watch when Lucy Gray was in the arena and so Mags likely never saw her but I wonder if Lucy Grays song's worked it's way into ever district where even a dozen people heard the songs. I wonder if they were passed round the districts. I wonder if years later Mags hums a song she doesn't quite remember the lyrics to, probably cause she never heard them clearly, whilst she makes a fishing lure.

Why do we constantly have to have “humans get transported to another world” storylines when it comes to live action adaptations? Why can’t it just be in-media-res? Why can’t the Minecraft movie follow the novelization where a guy randomly awakens in Minecraft with no idea who he is and just needs to learn how to survive… you know… LIKE HOW THE GAME IS. Why do we gotta bring people from outside the game world into Minecraft? Why do they look human but everything else is a CGI nightmare? You couldn’t pull a Detective Pikachu and just set your god damn plot IN Minecraft from the start?

And most importantly …

WHY CAN’T THE WHOLE MOVIE JUST BE ANIMATED? You’re already animating like 95% of the film already, just fucking make an animated film.
