🩸 Pre-Experiment Life: Tate Vol Eskers Tate Vol Eskers was once a quiet, misunderstood man with a passion for culinary craft and isolation. Living in a creaky, rotting home on the outer edge of society, he drew attention only when his name hit national headlines: "Local Chef Slaughters 16 Inside His Home." The truth was far messier—Tate had been lured into a violent trap by a cultish group, forcing him to defend himself with a chef's cleaver and nothing more. Blood stained the floors and walls, but when the smoke cleared, it was him who stood breathing.

Despite his claims of self-defense, the legal system crushed him. Sentenced to 12 years, the media branded him "The Cannibal Chef" due to rumors of body parts being cooked—though no evidence ever confirmed it. His sentence was eventually overturned and he was marked innocent… but not before he’d already changed. He was no longer just Tate. The walls of prison had carved something new into his bones.

The Experiment: Project GILL-HOST Tate was selected for a controversial military experiment dubbed Project GILL-HOST, meant to hybridize prisoners with aquatic DNA to develop deepwater-adaptable humans. His body became a battleground of foreign genomes: Ringed Seal (adaptation), Fire Eel (electricity), Bull Shark (aggression & salt tolerance), Viperfish (night vision and jaw extension). The result was Z-34—far more monstrous than human.

Now with a thick, muscular build, hardened skin along the arms and back, and a long, mutated tail used for both balance and strangulation, Z-34 lingers in the flooded lower sectors. He rarely speaks, and when he does, his voice is husky and distant—half-whispered memories of someone he once was.
