Project X AU fanwrite

I've been writing a few of short stories based on this au whenever I have time in school, so this is only one of them

I just wanna say that the scientists I mention are humans only in my mind, so any fandom hybrid ideas aren't applied

Chap1-Fish on Land-Scott-002

Scott just had to get the worst mutation (in his opinion). It was useless, especially in this environment. He always turns into an animal at random. The scientists try to see if he can do it on command and every time he tries it never works.

The glass walls were soundproof,  but you could see everyone's agony and sadness. Scott didn’t have a room partner, after Cleo had to be moved, so he is left to try and talk to Martyn and Ren to his left, and Bdubs and Tango to his right. 

In the beginning when Scott first mutated, he turned into a fish and transformed back immediately. The shock of it left him to have permanent gills on his neck.

It was almost lights out when Scott was called for testing. The scientists wanted to test if the environment would affect his powers. Scott, almost ready to sleep, dragged himself out of bed and walked with the scientist with thick blond curly hair that they’ve come to know as Zed. The testing room had bulletproof glass (as they had been told the first day they arrived) and what was usually empty had a pile of snow.

 The scientist walked back into a room behind the glass through a door and it locked. Nothing much to do but comply, Scott thought. The ring of interference then a voice through the small speaker that sat at the ledge of the window.

“002, go sit in the snow and think of an animal that lives in the snow.” Scott begrudgingly did it. There was no point to fight it, and if he didn’t he’d be tased. He walked and sat in the cold snow. It wasn’t fun, he didn’t have thick clothes. 

He only had shorts and the blue patient dress they were given. He thought of polar bears, penguins, bunnies, shrews, or an arctic fox over and over again, running through the list.

 “What now?” Scott asked. To his point they only said to think not transform and the look on the scientist's face were priceless. The one with black slick hair that they had learned was named Cub grabbed the mic,

 “Change you idiot! We don't have all day!” He was so mad, it made Scott snicker. Zed reached over and shook his head. And said something. Probably reminding him that they had to be nice or that the ‘rats’ (as they liked to call them) wouldn’t comply. Cub breathed and Zed spoke in the mic. “Change and this can all be over.”

 His voice was calm but inpatient. Scott was really cold at the moment so got up and walked a bit. The scientists hadn’t said anything so Scott got back and continued. Thinking of animals and changed, nothing came of it, he had just transformed into a seagull. Clearly not a snow animal.

 Zed had written something down and Cub and him then spoke a few words. Zed walked through the door and motioned to Scott. Scott walked out the door just before noticing a few vent around the walls.

As he returned to the glass cage and heard the click and clomps of Zed's shoes, Scott had not returned to bed.

 Instead he tried one more time, maybe he could change to a bird of some kind. Maybe scott could control his powers, his hopes were high. The tingling feeling he always felt and he started shrinking. Maybe, just maybe.

Nope, he just changed to a mouse, oh well maybe next time.

So far (at posting time) I've only written 2 others focusing on Bigb and Grian, so that's why it says chap 1, and maybe I will post them, maybe I won't
