Fire blasts from Charizard’s mouth as Steven commands Metagross to steer clear left. A sudden burst of energy from both Trainers’ Mega Accessories as the stones around Charizard and Metagross glow white hot as they both Mega Evolve.

Steven despite being at the disadvantage, tells Metagross to Bullet Punch at the X Charizard form. Too fast to see, Charizard can’t even blink as it hits. Red does blink, after the hit anyways, them locking eyes with each other as it rises up, doing a Dragon Dance. Steven wanting to shut that down as quick as possible, tells Mega Metagross to do a Zen Headbutt. Charizard flinching just like clockwork as the Attack stat boosts in Steven’s favor.

Meteor Mash slams Mega Charizard X back sliding against the wood but Dragon Rushes against the Pokémon. Its arms grabbing onto the other to stop it, but that might as well have been its own flinch as Charizard then Rock Slides at the Pokémon. Steven raising an eyebrow softly as if to wonder if Red is being slightly cheeky or coincidence.

Either way, he chooses now a Giga Impact. Red choosing a Flare Blitz. Both recoil and recharging doing their thing as the two clash, sparks flying as claws accidentally meet with steel, not exactly an intentional Move on either’s part. Metagross hovering low to the ground as smoke smolders from Charizard’s nose.

“Bullet Punch!”

“… …. …. …!”

Mega Charizard Dragon Rushes again towards Mega Metagross, the blows being traded on both sides. Close, Steven notices something, but it seems to be late as he calls for another, but it doesn’t matter as Charizard, still standing, does a Flare Blitz towards Mega Metagross again. It tries to keep itself grounded, but must be recalled. Charizard soon flopping onto the ground with a mighty thwack of a fall.

Smoke in the air, it clears to no Pokémon on the field, but Red and Steven. The Hoenn Champion offering a handshake to the Battle Legend. A smile on his face as Red, though at a neutral frown, returns it firmly.]
