Worldbuilding : // The media side of Macrocosmos

I've mentioned this here and there in replies, but I wanna do more world building regarding Galar and Macro Cosmos - specifically their media side of things since the company is a huge conglomerate that takes care of everything in the region from the energy, to travel, homing and living, etc. If you were to stay in Galar it would feel very much like a home away from home. The region, much like many of the larger cities of the surrounding regions (Kalos, Pasio, and I like to believe Unova and Alola in that case arn't very far either) are incredibly welcoming to tourists. What with its vast history and places like the Wild Area to visit to catch and train Pokemon would it of course attract people who were trainers or just those who lived peacefully with their Pokemon. Macro Cosmos' TV is known to have a thousand of channels that range from more than just footage of the Pokemon League. Which that on it's own has eighteen channels for each gym challenge, live footage from the Wydon stadium when the Championship cup started, multiple news channels that would cover league updates aswell and those that would cover general region news and weather. There's multiple channels for entertainment such as music, cartoons, and movies which they get from across the globe of the Pokemon world ; many movies actually being from Pokestar Studios and Nimbasa's musical theater. There's shopping networks from Celedon, Goldenrod, Lillycove, Veilstone, and Lumiose To add onto their list of battle networks outside of the region do they have direct feed from Driftveil for the PWT, Nimbasa for its sports center, and the Battle Resort in Hoenn and the Battle Tower in Sinnoh. The only battle network feed they do not have yet are to Alola's Battle Tree since it's so new.

Still over here wondering if Leon's original jersey in the league was different...and if they keep 1 reserved for the champion.

' While I don't downplay any battles I get, I will admit this one is getting me quite pumped up! From what I've seen from Iris she's a spectacular trainer and champion. We're still working on getting Galar involved in the PWT, but if she ever wants to come here any time to battle I'm never against it. ' Macro Cosmo's had managed to get footage from Driftveil after all, so that means direct footage of the PWT. Galarians always loved their tournaments styled battles after all. Perhaps with the Battle Tower built he should consider doing something like they have, or even like the Battle Tree in Alola. Also...he's seen Iris plenty of times hanging out on Axew's Eye with all the the Haxorus' that live there

' If there's anyone who should be compared to Lance it's defiantly Raihan. Though that's more because Hammerlocke's uniform was inspired by him, and thus he started allowing us to create and sell a line of merchandise for him since so many Kanto tourists come over here. '

"Also, why the fuck do I keep getting compared to Lance? All due respect, but he's washed up. Needs to do something interesting."

Leon and Iris defiantly are apart of that exclusive club of champions popular with the LGBTQ+ community (Cynthia, Diantha, Wallace, and Steven included.) but also people of color. Not to mention general dragon fuckers lovers. Though Leon specifically falls into that category of appealing to women who love dumb men.

' Oh man, you got me really excited than, 'Ris, nothing better than getting a personal invite from the champion of the region herself. ' At her confusion of a Corvinight did he chuckle, realizing it probably was foreign to her. He knew Paldeans were familiar with them since Tikatons are their natural predators, and probably Kalosians too since their regions were all so close. ' The big steel bird, they're one of our ways of travel here in Galar when you don't wanna personally fly on your own Pokemon or take a train. They carry around a little car with them and are like taxis '

For a split second there's a sparkle of joy in Iris's dull eyes. PWT mentioned?

"Oh, dude, you gotta show. Consider it a outright invite. I did the first PWT way back when- doing another one in a few months-"

She's gotta try and get Geeta and Diantha in too. As well as track down the other Champions too. If she's lucky Cynthia'll be down to start vibe checking random strangers in Undella town again.

"Most of the others are showing- Lance, Cynthia, the lot. I'm tryna get Geeta to show too, but, I'm gonna level with you, she kinda scares me."

Wait a sec, what's a Corviknight?

"Sorry, Corviknight? I'm not too good at remembering info on mons that aren't either dragon type or psuedo-dragons."

Is it that tiny blue bird she sees sometimes? She's fairly certain those aren't meant to be wild in Unova.

A hearty chuckle with that signature wide grin of his. ' Haha, no I can understand that. Even though you're always seeing me use my Charizard, I told Raihan that I'd try to go through Melony's gym without him to really test my strength. She didn't even go easy on her own son eaither. ' ' Ah, and yeah, the previous Champion before me. He actually has his own fighting Dojo he runs with his wife a bit outside of the region on of the areas you can only reach by Corvinight. ' It's where exclusive trainers went if they had an invitation or signed up for professional training. Though most of the time it was exclusive for those working to become gym leaders. ' Mm, you think so? I'd have to see for myself one day if I'm able to take a trip over there. We do get a network out in Galar for the PWT, but it's just that. '

"Took me two goes to do it. Brycen was a hard nut to crack for me."

Iris seperates out a chunk of hair from the side of her head- just behind her ear, and with practiced ease braids the whole thing to one side. Better?

"Mustard? Is that the old guy who wears a lot of yellow? Drayden mentioned him once, I think in admiration, but he's very discerning with, uh, everyone."

She still goes down to the gym sometimes. Either to borrow Drayden's battlefield when she can't get to hers up at the League- or, quite predictably, bother Drayden himself for a battle.

"Fairly certain Drayden's still pulling his punches when I battle him, heh."

' Yeah, I got lucky on my first gym leader challenge, so right when I was ten. Though...' A small scratch to his cheek as she mentioned work in general. Of course they didn't have a ten year old doing stuff like paper work. ' Rose only ever told me to focus on battling and they'd do all the work and sponsorships. I actually got much more proper training from Mustard afterwards. Me and Rai were invited to the Dojo in the Isle of Armor months before the next Gym Leader Challenge began to train. ' Even though he was a natural born trainer he was always training himself to get better when he was much younger. He'd hum as he finished brushing out her hair. He'd tie it up like he did with his, but he remembered that Iris didn't like her hair being tied with hair bands. Which was a shame because he also learned how to braid hair thanks to Sonia. ' Strange huh? '

"Oh, yeah, that. The sky in Unova turned red for a bit and everyone in Nuevema started collectively freaking out." Just Nuevema, for some reason. She's never been sure why Unovans are like that.

Younger than she had been? If she's remembering right- "Like, ten, right? There's no way they had you working that young, that's a bit of a stretch. Or just, like, younger than twenty?"

Iris pauses on that last part, sort of leaning back, shoving her hands into her skirt pockets, kicking a pastel blue mary-jane heel in the dust. She... doesn't feel any ill-intent from Leon, so she supposes she doesn't have to turn him down.

"Well, I suppose so. I should probably hire more staff anyway, but most Unovans are a bit, uh, strange."

' More like he turned himself in after the events with Eternatus bringing back The Darkest Day. ' It was always an intense topic, but in the end Rose was the one to do it himself unlike Unova's chase of Team Plasma for years. Which was right around the time when Alder passed down his title to Iris...giving the girl so much to deal with. ' And no, I insist if you really need the help. I was younger than you when I was given my title, so I perfectly understand the trials and tribulations of taking care of an entire region. ' Even if in Leon's case he was always getting things taken care of by Macro Cosmos and made to just stand there and look pretty. ' Just say the word and I'll let Macro Cosmos know to send people out there. You know...Champions have to stick together after all. '

"'m okay. I wouldn't wanna impose."

She twitches a little as she feels a hand run through her braids - but she doesn't recoil. He's only a year older than Orion, she remembers. He must be trying to do the same schtick she does - but different. There's bound to be a catch for Galar's support somewhere. There's a catch to everything, from her experience

"Wait, Chairman Rose got arrested? - Actually, nah, pretend I didn't ask, that's probably a intense topic."

' Come on 'ris you gotta learn to take breathers now and then. I know it's tough on you as a kid. ' The two didn't have that big of a gap, but he knew Iris started when she was younger too so understood how she feels. Slender fingers brush through her vibrant hair, the older male knowing it was always something soothing.

' From the sounds of it things still must be messy over there. Things have been a bit calmer in Galar recently after Rose's arrest. I wouldn't mind seeing if I could send some of our own police over there to help out. '
