How many decades had supposedly passed, ever since he last laid his gaze on her? The Guardian Yaksha, Xiao— thought grimly. Memories of the past came rushing like waves of ocean water in his disarrayed mind, whilst amber colored orbs continued to stare at a single hairpiece he have in hand.
The way her eyes shone like millions of stars, made his lips curve up a bit— a small unnoticeable smile marveling his face. She was indeed a perfect definition of beauty and psyche. Heart as pure as white, so as her soul. It was such a shame that she was taken away from him.
He could still remember the way she smiled at her, with the sun illuminating her petite form. "I'll be back in no time", she said, but she never did returned to his arms ever again.
Xiao grimaced. The memory of holding her bloodied and limp form clouded his mind. Had he came sooner, would such loss happen? Probably not, because he'll be there to kill those who would dare harm his beloved.
But alas, even if he did came and finished the remaining hilichurls; even if he had blown there whole campus; even if he did his very best to revive her— the gods still favored her demise.
Is this the payment for his sins? He questioned, devoid of any emotions but grief and pain.
"Look Traveller! It's Xiao!", Paimon— the ever so nosy companion of Aether— exclaimed, pointing a finger towards the solemn figure of the Guardian Yaksha who sat near the end of the steep cliff.
Yet, he paid no mind at the approaching pair. Having their presence only made him frustrated. He wanted to be left alone with his whirling thoughts of painful yet mirthful memories of his beloved—[name]. Is that even too much to ask?
"Why are you here?", Said he, glaring at the blonde traveller, who froze to a stop— feeling the intensity of the Yaksha's deadly ambiance seethe and cover the perimeter of their current location. It made them shudder, regretting their decision of approaching the adeptus.
"W-we just happened to be passing by, when we saw you. Paimon is sorry! Really really sorry!", exclaimed the pixie-like female, while frantically flailing her hands in a scared manner, to which made the Yaksha scoff at her foolish actions.
"Leave",
The wind blew harshly, leaves rustling with ferocity— prompting the two to take a few steps back. However, both refused to leave the place, to which Xiao figured.
It wasn't that much of a surprise. The Traveller— based on his previous affiliations with Liyue and it's people— made it clear for the adepti, that they won't leave until some matters are discussed and done.
Xiao did not like the idea of sharing his burden to others. Without a second thought, the adepti— vanished into thin air, not wanting some mere mortals to meddle with his affairs any more.
"Hmph! That adeptus made Paimon annoyed!", Said the girl, brows furrowed into manner of irritation; whereas Aether could only stare at the place where Xiao had previously been.
"He needs some time alone, Paimon",
"He has always been alone!",
"We never knew anything about him. . .",
Aether glanced at his companion, which Paimon returned with an irked glare. The two of them stayed like that for a while, before deciding to leave the place. Tho, from the corner of his vision, he swore— to see a figure of a girl attending some flowers with a grim expression on her face. But when he turned fully towards that direction, the said girl was already gone.
Seeing the figures of two mortals walking away, the spirit of a girl with [eye color] jewel like orbs could only stare back at the night sky. She couldn't cross the light, nor did the light let her cross.
"Oh, my dearly beloved. I am deeply sorry. If I only could turn back time, and prevent my death from happening. . .would I be able to see you smile?", she whispered by the wind, frowning at the pain she had caused.
