[Video Description: A 26 second video. Orchestral, cinematic music plays. Text reads The library is on fire! Grab the most important things!
A librarian at her computer spins around in her chair in slow motion, a look of horror on her face. Video cuts between various librarians frantically rescuing items. Each scene is labeled with the item:
The South Shore Posters: A librarian completely obscured by a framed South Shore Line poster she is carrying backs out of a room.
The hand chair: A librarian hauls away a large red plastic chair shaped like a hand.
Patron holds: A librarian shovels patron holds off the holds shelf onto a cart.
Benny the library skeleton: A librarian princess-carrying a large skeleton dressed in an oversized t-shirt frantically looks around for an exit before dashing away
The cardigan pile: A librarian almost completely obscured by the pile of cardigans in her arms runs toward the camera.
3D printer: A librarian dashes up to a large 3D printer and attempts to lift it off the table
Cecily the giraffe: A librarian pats a life size baby giraffe statue and then grabs it by the leg and begins slowwwly scooting backward to slide it across the carpet
The library tree: A librarian grips an enormous planter out of which springs an entire tree and pulls with all her might. It doesn't move.
James Patterson books? : The librarian carrying Benny sprints into frame between shelves loaded with endless Patterson books. Record scratch. The sound of a clock ticking as he considers the books for maybe two seconds.
Text changes to "Not enough hands". The dramatic music resumes as he sprints off frame with Benny.
End card with the library logo. The words 'Not actually on fire. Everything is fine.' are typed across the screen. End description]

Anyone got $300 today so I can turn my power back on? I'll send you the super cool blanket below.
Technically i need $250 to switch power from my sister to me but I say $300 bc then I can ship it to you right away.
for context, they shut off my power which was on my sisters name the same day they processed my biweekly $250 payment. I've been paying down and they did it anyway, now they won't turn it back on unless I pay a roughly $300 down payment and $200 for the first installment of a payment plan. which I don't get because that payment plan would be less than I've been paying bi-weekly at the end of the month, but also I have no savings and like I said. they JUST processed a payment.

"Yes," Bex agreed quietly. He shook his head, getting hair out of his eyes, checking the dirt that covered his mid-face. "Though you can call me Bex. And I have a bit of a gift for making distractions."
It was why he'd been sent, though it was slightly disturbing to think Arthur might know who he was. "And at helping in the dark."
@changxlingfae asked: [ MISSION ] : for our muses to meet on a mission (merlin)
“You’re Beckett, aren’t you?” Arthur sending him out on a mission wasn’t unusual. What was unusual was meeting up with someone he didn’t know. Then again, maybe this Beckett knew Arthur and he didn’t have anything to worry about. However, Merlin couldn’t help but be cautious these days. “In and out, yeah? It shouldn’t be too difficult to find the object in question. How good are you at being a distraction? Otherwise, I can give that a shot if you’re not comfortable with it.”

"Uh, I'm Bex. Beckett Hawthorne," He said. He refocused, forcing his eyes back to the far closer plane of this paramedic's face. It honestly didn't hurt all that much, maybe he was just dizzy, or it was far away in his mind.
"I don't remember passing out, is that a thing people are supposed to remember?" Bex asked, scrunching his nose in the process. He raised a hand, making sure any alcohol wipes didn't go to the middle of his face. "Some sort of pile up? Oh, my truck, it's probably wrecked, it was already run down."
"What?"
TK turned to follow the guy's line of sight, but ... couldn't pick out who he was looking at, in the crowd. At any rate, the 126 were the only ones currently on-scene, and TK was the only male paramedic in the team.
"OK," he decided it was not important (something to note with Cap, later; maybe there was someone impersonating a paramedic around here, or an extra set of hands who just happened to be off-duty and in the area?), "well, um, I kinda wanna check you out myself before you move, if that's OK. Injuries can sneak up on you, they're pretty easy to miss." TK pulled on rubber gloves as he spoke. "What's your name, bud? You lose consciousness at all?"

"I mean, I asked that paramedic over there if it was going to kill me, he said no?"
"Wait, who told you it wasn't that bad?"

"How long would that take?" Bex asked with a sigh, his hands falling to his sides on the desk. He didn't mind learning, in fact he had loved it. Learning more meant blending in more. He could do it.
"I worked hard to build my life here," Bex said. Perhaps she was trying, but it was still a big ask. "I got through college. I got my masters degree. I built a real life, and my mother is in the hospital, I visit her every week. You're asking me to start over in another world."
Farah allowed herself a small smile. "Concealment or distortion falls under the umbrella of light magic, but there's no reason you couldn't master it. Not with time." Magic could be dangerous, of course, so they would have to proceed slowly.
"I understand that this is your home," she went on to say, checking herself for being perhaps a bit insensitive to Bex's special situation, "and I don't mean to discredit the life you've led here. I'm only saying that everyone belongs among their own kind."

The quiet whoa didn't pass him, he heard it crystal clear; it made him wince, regret even doing that in the first place. He didn't think a quarter or whatever it was in his wallet would have done it, hell he wasn't sure if he had the change anyway. But he could have come up with something, maybe, if he had bothered to wait. Maybe the risk would have gone up, but still.
He looked to the other and nodded at the small pull on his arm. He braced on the cart, grimacing curiously as he watched the strange men look for the ball he'd formed, even as it disintegrated into a useless pile of shining dust. "Where are we going?"
Getting a coin out of his pocket or something, that's what Peter had expected him to do. That was why he suggested it. Watching the librarian hold his hand out and suddenly watching a shimmering, ball of dust form a ball in the guy's hand? That wasn't even on the list of possible options and he couldn't help the amazed and shocked, "Whoa..." that left him when it had finished forming. It immediately reminded him of Peter Pan and pixie dust, and he was surprised when he watched the ball get thrown and actually heard it make noise. It also immediately got the attention of those with guns closest to them, turning to see what had suddenly made the noise right on cue.
Which was away from looking at them. Peter grabbed the librarian's arm lightly and gave a small tug, nodding to the cart to go over to it while they had the chance. Few seconds that it was before they would go looking for what the ball had rolled from. One they got over to the cart and were ducked out of sight again, Peter grabbed one end of it and looked over at him, "Get ready to make a run for it, okay?"

Fighting or Sparring: Sentence Starters
(a mix, for either a serious fight or a friendly spar)
“Fine, I accept your challange!”
“Sorry but I won’t take it easy, not even with you.”
“There will be no mercy.“
“Power without idea isn’t justice.“
“Just give up already.”
“You know what will happen if you lose…”
“What?! B-but, how?!”
“I have awaited this day, for too long.”
“Is there no other way?“
“Go ahead and struggle!”
“Over already?“
“Do you want to die that badly?“
“Hm? I guess that was too much…“
“Don’t push yourself. Training will do no good with a broken limb.”
“Is something distracting you?”
“You’ve got some guts… for a fool.“
“Is this the best you can do?”
“You haven’t progressed at all. Focus.”
“Damn… I messed up.“
“You keep slipping up. You’re making easy mistakes.”
“It’s training now, but soon it could be a life or death situation.”
“Nothing will come of hate.“
“You can’t fight this with strength alone.”
“You’re wasting my time.”
“You still have a lot to learn.”
“That’s two out of three that I’ve gotten the upper hand.”
“You need to take this more seriously!”
“You’re still too weak.”
“Beg for mercy before me!“
“I didn’t mean to hurt you…”
“Kneel before me.”
“There won’t be anything left of you when I’m done.”
“I’ll make you regret ever crossing me.”
“Know your place.”
“You and me. Let’s go.”
“A fight with me is too dangerous.”
“You don’t know what you’re getting into.”
“Fine, you asked for it.”
“This should be easy.”
“So, you wanna fight?”
“Just to let you know, I’ve never lost a fight.”
“This is the end for you!”
“Not bad, but you can do better.”
“I’m not here to play with you.”
“I’ve got you pinned.”
“You could hardly stand, it’s over.”
“There, are you satisfied now?”
“You really thought you could win? How cute.“
“This place, will be your grave.”
“Your suffering will be over in a moment.”
“Did you really expect me, to yield to the likes of you?”
“Mark my words… I will kill you and I’ll be after your friends next.”
“Hmph. You don’t change much, do you?“
“You’re too impulsive… it’s reckless.”
“I’ll wipe that grin off your face.”
“Defeat me and ‘maybe’ I’ll tell you where your friend is.”
“It wasn’t a question, you need to take a break. We’ve been going at it for hours.”
“I’m telling you, there’s no chance of you beating me.”
“Just cause you’re cute, I’ll take it easy on you.”
“I’ll fight with one hand behind my back, see? Swing away.”
“Good, you’re holding up well.”
“Don’t get distracted, not even for a moment. Don’t avert your eyes.”
“Push yourself beyond your limits.”
“Your shoulders are tense. Don’t overthink it. Loosen up.”
“Feel like running away?”
“You’re too timid, it’s easy to see you as a target.”
“They’re not always going to be around to babysit you.”
“You’re going to die here, and easily.”

@scribedhorror asked: “shh, you’re okay.”
My muse is woken up from a particularly vivid and terrifying nightmare. Send “shh, you’re okay.” to calm and comfort them.
He heard people crying in his sleep. The sounds of his mother's misery, his dad's angry anguish, topped off with the warbled moaning of his dead grandmother still haunting the living room. At least she had liked him...
he jerked awake, a lump in his throat as he pulled his head from the crook of his elbow. "Did-did I wake you up?"

"Mm. If I remember correctly, its about a little boy monster, who's scared of the humans under his bed. I've only read it once or twice for Children's Hour, so you'll have to forgive me if I don't remember it perfectly, but I thought it was very cute." Bex promised. "Such a big moment, her very first library card. Or card in general?"
Sterling chuckled at his joke, happy to be able to have a playful conversation with the young man as well as get genuine assistance.
"The Monster Bed? I don't think I've heard of it. I'll bring my daughter by later this week to have her get her first library card."
He was sure she would love that.

"I don't think anyone appreciates a public servant like me tracking their money in that way," Bex quipped, a small smirk on his face. "It does matter, only because archives and libraries like ours don't get donations very often, and it's hard for me to create an event to cater to their wishes without knowing what those wishes might be. If they're donating because they like the diaries of Brigadier General Benjamin Alvord, and want an event for it, then I need to know."
He lets out a quiet, interested hum. Because he knows, of course he does, and it's not a secret, not really... but it's also not something he tends to reveal easy.
"Those donations can usually be tracked." He tells Bex. "But if there's not a name... does it particularly matter?" He wonders. "Maybe someone just wanted to help."

PROMPTS FOR ENEMIES TO LOVERS * assorted dialogue for that slow build up of reluctant interest and romantic curiosity between enemies, adjust as necessary
you didn't have to help me, you know. you could have just left me there.
are you... flirting with me? was that flirting?
dinner's on me. we can work out our differences then.
you're not as bad as i thought.
i'm shocked. that was actually impressive, what you just did. i didn't think you had it in you.
we've been going at it for hours.
this doesn't mean i like you.
please step out of my way.
if you just gave me a chance to prove myself...
you've got me all wrong.
i don't actually hate you.
i didn't know you could do that.
you don't have to believe everything they tell you about me.
you're kinda cute for an asshole.
i'm not here to be made fun of.
it was just a kiss. it didn't mean anything.
when did i ask you for advice?
let me make this clear. i don't like you. i will never like you. i am just using you for your expertise, and that's it.
i don't care what you think of me.
why can't you just see me for me?
it's a shame you're such an asshole.
we could have had something.
that was before i realized who you were.
i think i deserve a little respect.
why do you keep looking at me like that?
stop staring at my ass!
maybe i misjudged you.
i was pretty mean back then, wasn't i?
i never gave you a chance to explain yourself.
you're not as bad as i thought you'd be.
let's bury the hatchet.
i heard that!
what were you saying about me?
was that... a compliment?
i think we got off on the wrong foot.
let's try again. let me reintroduce myself.
can we call a truce?
we're never going to get anything done if we're at each other's throats.
are you the one that vouched for me?
i'll have to admit... that was pretty great.
think of the things we could accomplish if we just worked together.
you need my help. i need yours.
what you did back there... that was impressive.
i didn't ask for your help back there.
why are you helping me?
i thought you hated my guts.
that was a little uncalled for.
great, but i still don't trust you.
stop staring at me like that.
we both have something the other needs.
i don't need a babysitter.
let's start over. try this again.
you're the one who got us into this mess, not me.
i thought you said you didn't want to help me.
maybe it would be smarter if we worked together.
i don't like working with you, but maybe i have to.
this would be a lot easier if you just listened to me.
why do you hate me so much?
you're the one that kissed me!
i never gave you a chance to explain yourself.
they were wrong about you. i... was wrong about you.
there's a lot more to me than meets the eye.
you're not so bad yourself.
what ever happened to "i will never work with you as long as i live?"
what made you change your mind about me?
i can take care of myself, you know.
