"I mean, we get along," Bex said. They did. They had, at least, and they had their quid pro quo that worked well enough for them. "And we've never had the need to try and kill each other."

That was a lot to say when it came to the Isle. With Uma and Mal, and all their little tag-alongs, the need to fight with someone was pretty rampant. That he and Harry Hook had managed to avoid that did say something.

Harry watched as he thought about what he’d said, really the question would probably seem like a trick one to most and from most on the isle. It was hit or miss on where it would land from him to Bex.

“That’s entirely up to you Starshine, can’t force loyalty. Well, I could. But then I’d have to watch my back more than I already do, and that just seems like so much unnecessary work.” The joke was meant to lighten how heavy his tone seemed to make the question land.

"Unless it can reverse my mother's aging, I don't see how that will help," He mumbled. Though, if they were really talking about Neverland, he wouldn't be surprised if they did have a way. The place was filled with nonsense and mysteries - it was only a bit better than Wonderland in that sense.

"Oh, wonderful, a marriage that ends at the alter," Bex mused. It wasn't helpful and he rolled his head back, "sorry. Sorry. I know its not on you and I do appreciate that. I just don't know what mother will do."

“He knows how to get to a place where people never grow old, takes one goal off ‘er if she ever manages to get outta here. Then all she needs ta figure out is gettin’ young again before or after she gets there. I don’t know what yer ma’ offered up’s side'a the deal was.” He couldn’t imagine that it was just a marriage, but then again, maybe Smee had gotten on his father about doing something that might make his kids happy for once. Giving up a location that she would have a hell of a time finding wasn’t much in the long run for getting someone Harry gave a shit about out from under her thumb.

“Look, Starlight. This ain’t gotta be anything more than somethin’ we go along with ta get our parents off our backs. I’m not gonna push you into a situation you ain’t comfortable with.” That wasn’t to say that Harry wouldn’t welcome Bex wanting more, but this wasn’t exactly something that was either one of their ideas. As much as he was willing to play along if it meant s getting him away from his mother? He was a touch insane, but he wasn’t a monster.

"Pretty much every great and powerful magician wants to be young forever," Bex sighed at that. He wasn't sure it was something he wanted. Maybe keeping the aches and pains of old age away was a nice thought, but forever was such a long time.

"Considering all the effort she put in to that flower, I don't know if she'd be very happy with you calling it an "easy way out."

“Flying in 'n cursin’ her t’ live forever as an ole hag 'n then vanishin’ seems more her style, from wha’ I’ve heard. Takes dramatic entrances real serious, pro'ly main thing her an’ my dad had in common.“ He couldn’t imagine much else as to why he would have caught her eye. His father was a tool on the best of days, a straight-up monster on the worst of them.

”'Ur Ma’s a moron. Plenty of magic in the world, but she wanted the easy way ta stay 'young and beautiful’. Mosta our parents decided ta take the easy way an now it’s our probl’m.“ He said it pretty 'is what it is’, the way he saw it they couldn’t do anything to change it. But he could cut all ties with his Father.

"An accident! And accidents do not need apologies like this," Bex said to Zoro. He had one hand on his hip, a fond look in his eyes that hovered over his ash. He could only smile, long since past shaking his head at things like this. "Certainly not so fervently."

He chuckled once more at poor Chopper before turning to Zoro.

"He left some ropes out and I tripped. I almost fell overboard, but I didn't, did I? So it's fine."

"Give it a rest Chopper." His voice cut through whatever the smallest member of their crew was about to say as he opened his eyes from the nap he'd been taking. Body lounged out on the sun-soaked deck, muscles gloriously relaxed from the heat of the midafternoon sun. His attention shifted to the side to where the young reindeer had been following Bex around, apologizing non-stop for.....well actually he wasn't even sure what it was for.

Sitting up, one leg shifting to bend before him so that he could drape an arm over it, he half squinted at the pair of them. "What are you even apologizing for?"

just hoppin' on here to say when the right person kisses bex his wings come out just saying

seeking out physical affection

comparing hand-sizes to hold their hand against the other's and then just holding hands

leaning against the other one in close spaces

acting like they're cold to have an excuse to cuddle or share clothes or blankets

brushing a strand of hair away

grabbing each other's hands in crowds or when crossing the street to "be safe"

turning their cheek to get the other one to give them a peck

brushing their arm against the other's, hoping the other would finally catch their arm and hold it close

fixing the other's hairstyle to let their hands run through their partner's hair

draping the arm around their shoulder while sitting next to each other

lightly tickling the other one, almost hoping it gets retaliated

reaching out with their hand without saying anything, wanting the other one to grab it

linking arms when walking around together

trying to get the other to dance with them

bumping shoulders into each other

wrapping arms around the other's neck when standing behind them

when everyone is happy and the bad guy's been solved and there's smiles everywhere but then you notice theres two more episodes why are there two more episodes dont fucking do this to me

"It was a fictional novel, Zoro. I doubt letting chicken simmer in rose petals would actually make people fall in love," Bex laughed lightly. He shook his head with the movement of his giggles, hair in his eyes. "Of course... it wasn't actually love, but that's the polite version. It's just a story set around the recipes."

It was nice to just read with someone. Really, it was one of his favorite activities. He could see Zoro in the corner of his eye, just as engrossed in the pages of his own book as Bex was. A shared moment - it was really nice.

He paused in his reading, gaze lifting from the book in his lap to look at Bex, slightly horrified at the concept of Sanji getting his hand on that kind of recipe. "Please don't ever give him a love recipe."

Knowing the cook he'd use it just to get a kick out of it and make him fall in love with a rock.

Returning his gaze to the book in his lap he flipped to the next page, eyes flicking over the words before examining the pictures that depicted the move that was being described. The style was fascinating and he could already see how some of the techniques could be worked into his own style to improve speed and agility.

my neuroligist is always like oh blah blah and how are your migraines doing thats great blah blah blah, hows the medicine for those going and then I go, yeah man they work really well on the migraines but not the cluster headaches

and i always, always always forget that its the cluster headaches that makes her lok so fricken worried 🤣 calm down please or youll scare me
