The reason why Daniel has two divorces is because he always wants to argue. Like, ok yap all you want mate whatever but you have Armand in front of you, shirts unbuttoned, cleavage showing, tits out, looking you straight in the eyes, are there for your eyes and pleasure, and all you want to do is ARGUE? Fucking loser. That’s why his wives hate him they probably wanted some nice hate sex after arguing about the bills but his stupid ass kept arguing 🙄

My take on this scene:

Louis wants to turn Madeline. Armand has his convictions. He is scared to against rules that are so sacred to him.

Louis’ going to do it anyway. Armand feels backed into a corner. Like he has no control or say over the matter anymore.

So he falls back into that submissive role. Cradles Louis’ neck and tries to initiate that power dynamic.

“Are you asking or making me?”

Louis clocks this. Immediately redirects. “This isn’t what we’re doing. That’s not what this is about”

Armand feels rejected, he must’ve done something bad. “I’m sorry.”

Louis is gentle. He reassures. “It’s okay. You’re okay.”

Armand feels lost, he has no control over this matter and it terrifies him.

the Arun/Arjun thing is ridiculous I can't get over how showmand's birth name is like one letter off from the name of the vampire Marius extrajudicially murdered for being brown mean in Blood Communion, on top of Rashid also being the name of a kid that Marius killed in Blood and Gold. like what if your father symbolically killed you over and over again in earlier versions of your narrative echoing back through time, in addition to the time he actually killed you in canon proper. crazy.

So far we’ve seen Armand trying to jog Daniel’s memory:

“Blenders! Does that ring a bell?”

“Hired this guy to chase him around in front of you. Reminds you of anyone, Daniel?”

Armand: “Ugh! I’m saying that I missed you and wanna leave my husband for you!”

Louis tore those out, yes.

But there are also parts of the diaries where pages are missing where pages have been cut out with a ruler - the show insinuates here through Daniel, that those have been cut out by Armand (which is then later confirmed in 2x06)

The ones with Lestat's "last" words have those, and the diaries where Louis travels, for example, as well as later ones.

I agree, and I could imagine that the show-version of the "Frankenstein-Experiment" Armand conducts on Claudia (and that the show heavily hinted at and laid the ground stones for within season 2 already) might have been something he tried earlier within the story... and her writing about that, might have been cut out as well.

There is this scene in 2x06, as said above, where Armand confirms cutting out the pages, and that it was done out of shame.

The pages I tore out of Claudia's diaries, (Louis: - we did most of those together.) Not all of them. And the ones I did on my own were to protect me from you, Mr. Molloy. Why did I owe you my shame? Why did I owe you my one act of cowardice? The series of abhorrent consequences that followed? I've spent the rest of my life trying to make up for it. I'll never make up for it.

Armand does feel that shame - often a bit after the fact.

I... am not sure what "cowardice" as base reason they have built in there, that remains to be seen. It might be something that Armand reframes as cowardice.

I do think that both Lestat and ghost!Claudia have things to say about the content in those missing pages. Claudia may have been desperate for acceptance, but she was not stupid, and if you know the book "Merrick", where her diary is ultimately from, then you know that Claudia's diary and the reveal from it (singular in the book)... carries a punch.

I think the in the show missing diary pages carry a similar punch.

If I had to guess, at this point, then the cut out pages contain:

realities about murder night, with the reveal from "Merrick"

realities about Claudia's awareness in Paris

realities about the SA (that being the pages Louis tore out)

realities about Armand putting pressure on Claudia

possibly the show's version of the experiment

maybe even the mechanics by which Armand pulled Claudia and Madeleine back to Paris

We'll see.

But they did not not reveal those pages yet for nothing :)

This is so sad 😞

Maybe this was the first time in a while he had seen his coven happy and celebrating, and he got sucked into the fantasy for just one second that maybe, maybe they could all be one happy family- that this could work! Because deep down that’s all he wants, to be loved and be part of a family again. But it doesn’t last. He comes back to reality. How long would the coven’s happiness last, a month, a year? If only it were that easy. If only he wasn’t cursed with the knowledge of how it’ll eventually end. If only he deserved happiness.

One of my favorite Devil’s Minion details from Queen of the Damned is that Daniel legitimately does not believe he’s in any danger and is like “Armand. Babe. I’m fine, you’ll protect me.” And Armand is like “it’s the literal apocalypse” and Daniel’s response is basically “and?” Like yeah you’re right babe Armand would find a way to stop the apocalypse to keep you safe
