What this means:

Bonjour! Alex here. Imma go on a lil rant here since I don’t have anywhere else I can say this.

So the Hamilton movie comes out on Disney+ on July 3. Everyone’s super excited about it, but....I’m not. If you’re reading this and become upset, just hear me out.

Hamilton and I have had a long run. I’ve been in the fandom since 2015/16. Since then, I’ve basically been obsessed with the show. I have autism, so I guess that makes sense. Hamilton became my number one special interest.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about my time in the fandom. I met my first girlfriend in the fandom, but it ended with extreme toxicity. I’ve gotten a bit of hate from the fandom, with people telling me I’m just “too” into it. And, more recently, I may have nearly or already lost a friend from my obsession. I’ve already left the fandom. I left last month, I think. But with the Hamilton movie coming out soon, I’m scared that I’ll be thrown back in.

Now I’m not saying y’all can’t be excited about it. Hell, at some point I was excited too! I’m just....not, anymore. I was about 12/13 when I entered the fandom, and I’m now 17 when I left. I’m now far more interested in the history that the show portrays, rather than the show itself.

But most of all, I just.....I really don’t wanna rejoin the fandom. Not the musical part of it, at least. For right now, I’m just a spectator, watching from the sidelines, with a lil toe on the line of the history side.

Well, that’s my rant.
