It makes me very sad when people get angry whenever Usopp is called Luffy's best friend instead of Zoro. As if Zoro is the only one allowed to be close with Luffy.

First of all, whatever Zoro & Luffy have going on is a lot weirder & more complex than just being besties.

Secondly, the bond between Usopp & Luffy is so pure. Their attachment to each other has nothing to do with trauma bonding or ambition. It doesn't even really have anything to do with pirating. They're just two guys with similar interests that vibe with each other. There wasn't some specific set of skills Usopp possessed that made Luffy seek him out. He just liked this dude he met by chance and wanted to keep hanging out with him.

Who else will they talk about their love of bugs with? Did everyone forget just how much fun they had at the end of the Foxy pirate debacle? They are the reason we got the gift of Afro Luffy.

Lastly, they love each other so so much. How can anyone not see that? The fallout in Water 7 wouldn't have had nearly the same impact had it been anyone other than those two because we as the fans recognize how wrong it is for them to be angry at each other like that. There's a reason Usopp was the one who incentivized Luffy to get back up & defeat Lucci in Eneis Lobby. Not as Sogeking, but as his friend Usopp.

Luffy's dynamic with Usopp most closely resembles the one he had with his brothers. I'm sure that's not lost on Luffy. Usopp grew up with no friends his own age and here comes along Luffy who is of similar age with like minded interests. I know that meant a lot to him. These two are always hanging out and shooting the shit whenever the crew is just vibing.

So please put some more respect on this relationship.

If my math is right Circe is 11 years older than Cora so this would have to be an au where Circe survives because I'm pretty sure Cora was like max 15 when she died so Give It Like A Decade At Least, I'd say 3 or 4 but that's because I've been crying over old people in love recently, but two consenting adults etc etc

Cora still being a Deep undercover agent and trying to get ties to the cross guild via Croc via Circe (unless Circe is also at the top of the cross guild in which case Good For Her). Circe fully knows what Cora's doing but he's got a cute face and she hasn't been gaslit in years. Also he's good with Rose so,,,

So normally I don’t really consider shipping for Circè? The closest I have is Katakuri for a canon ship while Robin and Franky are a crack ship in Charky’s myths and gods.

What ONE PIECE ship do you think is over done

Zo robin. I love straight ships but I feel like the only justification that one has is 'second guy x second girl', there's not a lot of canon justification that goes beyond how Zoro and Robin act with the entire crew which is protective and affectionate, but I see it everywhere. People also like to lump it in with lu nami which I don't really get because they aren't really similar at all and it usually just lumps them together while taking the nuance out of both, yk? I don't think I've ever seen a relationship analysis between those two that justifies so many people shipping them, and I think I would need that because I really don't see it to the point I (maybe unfairly) assume that any post about zo robin is just trying to pair Zoro with A Woman since he doesn't have any female romantic interests

Sanji x zoro - I just can’t see it

Nami x any guy - I can only see her as a lesbian

Robin x any one who isn’t franky / franky x any one who Isn’t Robin - I can only ever see them together

Luffy x law - I can’t see it

Luffy x most people (I see him mostly aromantic, but I can ship him with usopp or boa for some reasons)

Buggy x Mihawk - can’t see it

Mihawk x shanks - Mihawk is way to cool and hot for shanks

Actually I really can’t see Mihawk actually dating people, I just realized I see him as aroace

Coby x Luffy- sorry, but I can only see it as one sided - tho I do t mind the ship, I just don’t really ship it

Here are my takes, but before that just know these opinions are mine and bullying anyone for fandom/shipping opinions is weird and I don't support it:

Shuggy - Fully respect and empathize with the brother angle, I also see them as more brothers but their relationship is kinda complicated so I'm kinda neutral on it

Nami x Men - Fully get the lesbian route, she does seduce almost every other woman on screen, but sexuality headcanons never stop me because I am too far gone

Lulaw - I'm not gonna defend the gay subtext of Dressrosa because I don't ship lulaw much either, it does have some good content tho

Luffy x Anyone - I fully hc Luffy as canonically aroace, I just can't be stopped by my own headcanons

Mihawk x Anyone - Yeah I don't think he would date much either, at least not in a normal way. He'd put his partner's enemies dead on their doorstep for them to find like a cat I feel like. Idk, Mihawk intrigues me, I fully get aroace hc tho that just won't stop me

Cobylu - Yeahhh it's definitely not the strongest canon ship just with the way Luffy acts towards Coby vs Coby towards Luffy, I ship it but mostly fanon ship it because of what it Could Be if Coby was a more mainline character Luffy interacted with more. They seem to be doing that in the live action tho, I'm eager to see how that goes

ok so who is arlong in this au. Like maybe he was a priest that was drowning devil fruit users and killing humans?

To preface, Arlong's hubris is insannne. He thinks Jimbe is better than all the other gods to the point the other gods don't even count. Incredibly racist, follows Jimbe's ideals in a twisted and extremist way. He also hates Nami specifically, because Arlong has discredited her role in maintaining gravity and orbit and the vast majority of physics and reduced her down to goddess of rain. He hates her because he thinks she is a god built on taking water away from Jimbe the ocean.

But also, Arlong is clever. He spends time as part of the sun pirates, meets Jimbe in person one time which solidifies his reverence, and gains all the knowledge he can on gods and on Nami. Then Fish Tiger dies, and the crew is in upheaval. Arlong is too, Arlong blames everyone and everything and hunts Robin down to demand payment for not teaching those humans better. Robin is ashamed of human actions on Franky's behalf, so she agrees. Arlong says he wants to know what every god loves more than anything.

Robin answers, most of them are predictable - Brook loves music, Luffy loves freedom, Franky loves free will. But one thing stuck out to Arlong. A name.

Nojiko.

Arlong had never heard of Nojiko, most of the world hadn't, not even in Alabasta.

So Arlong hunted that name for years until he found her. Nojiko. The unannounced daughter of Vivi.

He killed Nojiko's guard in front of her, and took her away. Used her as ammunition against Nami, and nearly enslaved a god when she asked Luffy for help. So they, along with some of the other gods, destroyed everything Arlong built, and with Arlong's dying breaths he begged his god to avenge him. But Jimbe turned away from him

Do silky exist in this au?

Because if they do I had a fun idea that although they are sea creatures, they mostly worship usopp as one of the wildness gods. They worship him the most because he represents the freedom of wildness. They’re mostly nomadic, switching from romantic to see and see him as a great patriot. So unlike in the selkie au, selkies are not nearly as endangered do to his protection.

Fishmen think it is Capital 'W' Weird that selkies don't worship Jimbe foremost, mermaids think it makes a bit more sense because they do lean more towards Usopp than fishmen do even if they still tend to mainline Jimbe (Usopp is god of trickery and mermaids used to be able to trick people with their song - cant anymore tho)

Selkies do have towns and cities!!!! There are a lot of nomads because they have a selkie tradition kinda like rumspringa where young selkies travel away from home in small groups to either live as selkies wherever they want or pretend to be humans. Marines have tried to crack down on this because small groups of teenage selkies keep turning into small pirate crews
