She was probably just being polite for politeness’ sake, or maybe Nicole was being awkward as it is, this display awkward for both parties involved. She just wished it to be over at this point. “Yeah? And what if I wanted that?” 

Charlie did not bother to hide her disappointment, rolling her eyes at the blonde before staring at the cereal. “That’s just sad then.” She shrugged. “I thought you wanted more than having the domestic bliss.”

 She hated how easy it was to read all the emotions on her face (and yet, incredibly, something she always struggled to channel while on a set). “Thanks for the two cents. Pretty sure my ex and his wife announcing they’re having a baby is real,” she said, the word wife spoken like it was poison in her mouth, had spiked barbs “—and they sure didn’t fake that.” Why would they? If anyone wouldn’t, it was Ethan.  

“You are welcome.” Charlie shrugged. Her nose wrinkled at the mention of a baby, she chuckled involuntarily later on. When she’d found out Elliot accidentally knocked up his ex, she didn’t have the best reaction to it either. “That fucking sucks.” She said. “But hey, you dodged a bullet there. If you two were still together, he would want to have a baby with you too.” She knew her words weren’t helpful but she did not know what else to say.

Nicole put her iPhone away as soon as Charlie came in, though forgot to trigger the lockscreen in her distraction, Ethan’s instagram page still displayed on it. “Well don’t tell me, now I’ll know where it is,” Nicole replied, quite likely to stumble home blind drunk on any given night and eat handfuls of said cereal when she did. 

You okay there? she was asked, and the answer she gave was decidedly on the aggressive side. 

“Uh, yeah?” 

As if to say, what else would I be? 

“Just fine.” The tear wiped at again, in case she missed the first time. 

“I will hide it in somewhere else, don’t worry.” Charlie said dryly, her gaze landed on Nicole’s phone screen momentarily. 

“Great.” She didn’t expect Nicole to pour her heart out.

“Just so you know.. nothing on that stupid app is real.” Charlie said after a beat, holding the bowl between her palms. “It’s all show.”

     “Y’know, Charlie, some would say that fucking up is a way of growing–that failure is the only way to success,” he half-cooed. “So, so what if you forgive and I fuck up again? It’d be just one step closer to happiness.” What surprised Joseph more than her not simply getting up and walking away was how his apology (if you could call it that) sounded more like asking for something more than just forgiveness. Something like permission to access the way back to whatever sweet and charming part of Charlie that she used so willingly share with him.

With insides suddenly jumbled and mixed up with confused emotions, Joseph decided to dial back whatever angle he was playing at and go back to just apologizing. “Seriously, though, it is hard not to fuck up and I do my best, and while it might be easy for you, it’s really difficult for everyone else to be perfect.” The young man then sat up a bit straighter, turned his body more towards her, and said, “Look, I’m sorry, okay, Charlie? I’m really fucking sorry. Now, can you just tell me what a guy has to do for you to cut him some slack?”

Charlie scoffed, shaking her head slowly. “Some also would say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” She pointed out with a shrug. “See? That’s the issue right there. Why do I have to forgive your fuck-ups every single time? Why don’t you just stop fucking up?” People did not deserve second chances, the outcome of it rarely changed. She’s had enough past experiences to back up her argument. 

“That is such a bullshit, Joseph.” Charlie shook her head, letting out another scoff. “I am far from being perfect. I don’t expect anyone, especially you, to be perfect either.” People had flaws, they were the things that made them interesting, Charlie had no issue with it. “Why are you sorry? Seriously, why?” Charlie turned to him suddenly, shrugging her shoulders. “Because to me, it sounds like you are just saying it because you think that’s what I want to hear. It’s like you want to hang out again and you’ll just say whatever you need to make that happen.”

What do you think of Disney's animation style and how it's developed over the years? What's your favorite Disney animation?

“While I am not the biggest fan of Disney, I can’t deny their presence in the industry. Considering how much money they make, it makes sense why they lead the industry. I prefer Pixar movies but they are owned by Disney, so essentially it’s the same thing. The Lion King is my favorite. Not the CGI remake of course, that was a certified disaster.”
