I love this! Thank you so much! (Also it's great timing as Child of Light 2 has been hinted at so I'm very hyped for it right now.)

My second FlossTube video! No new projects to show this month, but I’ve finished one piece and made good progress on my other WIPs. This video is just under 6 minutes long.

Monthly progress for the pokémon Gen 1 piece deisgned by FangirlStitches on Etsy. Charizard's not quite finished and I need to go back and add numbers for the first 6, but I'm making good progress!

Part 7 of Sneek (the Long Dog stitch along by Julia Line, I talked about it in my first Flosstube video below). The company distributing it made a mistake and accidentally sent out the eighth chart instead, so I was able to make a head-start on the alphabet for next month. (I'll leave the main motif until I'm supposed to do it though) I really liked this part. What little backstitch there is was repetitious enough that it was second nature soon enough, and I like how the stags and swans look.

Not sure how interested anyone here will be, but I decided to start making monthly progress videos for my cross-stitch projects (including flashing up the two Dangan Ronpa stitches I’ve done). This one is just under 10 minutes, but that includes a brief summary of my history of stitching at the beginning, so future ones will probably be a lot shorter than this.

Four Seasons stitch along designed by Lesley Teare on grey 28ct Evenweave. (Although I mucked about with the spacing in a lot of cases). This was being released a chart (2 of the bands) a week for 8 week.

Links Awakening band sampler designed by Crystal West (merrywether99 on Etsy). Stitched on 28 count Bone coloured Jobelan evenweave.
This was a lot of fun, especially once I’d done all the black outlines and started being able to fill in the colours without having to count as carefully! Link’s Awakening was the first Zelda game I ever played, and it was a lot of fun even though I was terrible at it (It took me six months to work out how to get the sword, and then I lost the game down the back of my wardrobe for several years before I figured out how to finish the second dungeon!) So this brought back a lot of fond memories.

Seeing everyone’s pride posts motivated me to finally get on and start stitching this! Some of the colors are a bit off because the converter I use to work out which threads to buy isn’t perfect (particularly noticeable with the lesbian flag colours) but overall I’m happy with it!

I bought the kit to make this because I thought my niece and nephew would appreciate it.
That was almost 6 six years ago. Don’t think they’ll be interested in it anymore, but I wanted to finish it anyway! (Now I can get rid of the box box it was in sitting in and make room for my cross stitch supplies instead.)

I finished a cross-stitch along I’ve been taking part in during the last 12 weeks. It’s the warm colours version of the Springtime design by Jody Rice of Satsuma Street. (Although I changed the mouth on the sun- the original design was just a simple back stitch line). I love the way the colours blend into each other going around the design.
Also this was my first time stitching on Evenweave instead of Aida and it felt SO much nicer! I am never going back now.

Cross stitch I did one of @derpyflowergarden’s drawings ( https://derpyflowergarden.tumblr.com/post/158967466297/one-day-ill-get-better-at-drawing-buff-guys ), which is based on her Biker’s Doll fic (which you should totally read if you didn’t the last time I told you to!)
It took a lot less time that I expected (Mostly because I miscounted the number of stitches and thought it was going to be twice the size it actually is). Ishimaru,s face did take me a while to get right though, the first time I tried to do the eyes with French knots and the mouth as part of the cross stitching and it looked pure evil. (Although the blurry photo I took of it was hilarious which is why it’s currently my avatar)

Not writing related, but I was given the kit for this cross stitch just over a year ago and, after a few cases of havong to unpick large swathes of it because I miscounted, finally managed to finish mounting and framing the completed thing tonight so I want to show it off.

At the risk of this turning into more of a cross stitch blog than a fanfic one, the V3 bonus mode sprites make excellent cross stitch patterns!

Buttercup for the flowery asks
(Name five things that make you unapologetically happy?)
Took me a while to think of five but here we go!
Fanart of my fanfics (Click here to see them!)The first time someone (coincidentally, you, @derpyflowergarden ) took the time to draw out something from one of my fanfictions was absolutely amazing! I honest couldn’t believe someone would like the stuff I write enough to do that, especially not just for free without prompting! It still really makes my day every time it happens!
Comment on/about my fanfics. For a similar reason, people telling me they like the stuff I write is really awesome, and makes all the time I spend writing really worth it. I’ve had comments that were so nice I actually cried at little in real life!
Video game hypeGetting excited about an upcoming game is always a lot of fun, even if the game doesn’t turn out to be as good as I imagined. A lot of the time the disapointment isn’t bad enough for me to regret the time I spent looking forward to it and imagining how great it was going to be. (Although shoutout to Super Mario Odyssey for being the Mario game I have waited for for over fifteen years and not being a disappointment in the slightest.)
New music to bop to.Whenever I find a new, really good tune I’ll often play it on repeat on my iPod for a couple of days, and there’s nothing more fun than dancing around my lounge/kitchen just because of how pumped I’m feeling from the music.
New stitch-along charts. This one requires a bit of explanation. A stitch-along is when a cross-stitch (in my case at least) pattern is released in parts over time, so each part is a mystery and you don’t see the full pattern until the very end. As an example, here is one I did in the run up to December, where each new square was released every Friday morning:
Tumblr media
For that one, I joined a facebook group dedicated to running these, and we all share our progress with the pattern/changes we made to it. But the most fun part for me is waking up on a new pattern day and downloading it to see what I’ll be stitching next.
