When you feel exhausted, overwhelmed lost, it can be so temping just to curl up in a little ball and hide away. To hope that the storm passes soon. That you didn't have to keep showing up and juggling all those balls. But the best way to switch your mood and get back into the land of positivity is to get outside, hang out with the awesome people in your life, and appreciate the tiny things. I've never seen so many hermit crabs in one place before! After our run yesterday we stopped off at one of my favourite places on the island to sit and soak up the view. Today has been rainy. 🌧️And windy. And altogether pretty yuck.☁️☁️☁️☹️ But we still managed to get out for our family weekend run and have a fab time. 😁 It's on these runs that R and I get to hang out and just chat. He confides in me as only a 9 year old can and we can discuss everything from the characters in the book he's just been reading to the meaning of life. ❤️ I think these tiles that we spotted on our run sums up our philosophy perfectly: "This house does not need to be big to be a home. The cosier the home, the more love you'll find." Time together is what counts. Not money. Not possessions. When I was still relatively new to running, I daydreamed about one day being about to run UP the 'enormous' hill to the very top.🌄 It seemed crazy to even consider. Completely unachievable. Like I'd have to be some kind of She-Ra, fitness freak to even get close. 💪 Yet now, it's a route I run several times per week. 🎽 Yes, it's still tough at times. But I know I can face it. Better still, it forces me to slow down, check in with my body and mind and join forces so we can make it happen as pain free as possible. What's my reward from all of this? Apart from getting to indulge in my love of getting outside in nature, moving my body and getting 'me' time, I also get to fly down the hill at what feels like a million miles per hour, the wind in my hair, feeling on top of the world. The best thing about morning runs in the winter has to be the changing landscapes around me.
