OMG it's Faetooth new album release day...

...oh yeah, it's also BandCamp Friday!

So, yeah, of course I picked up the new album by Faetooth, Labyrinthe...

...and yeah, it's pretty much everything I was hoping. I absolutely love their previous album, Remnants of the Vessel (and it absolutely holds up), but this does feel like the songwriting and music are a little more layered and mature. This one is going on repeat!

I also finally got around to picking up Tavastland by Finnish band Havukruunu (roughly translated - coniferous crown). This is pretty much exactly what I want I want from my black metal (and I am very picky about my black metal, for probably obvious reasons), and I'm clearly on a bit of a Finnish media kick at the moment (I'm currently reading Moomins on the Riviera - different vibe of course but there's definitely some similar sentiments running through both!)

The album cover is pretty hype too!

Bandcamp Friday

Posting a bit late, but I always like to promote this as a way of supporting bands and other musical artists - I've been buying a lot more music the past couple of years to supplement using streaming services and feeling good for it! The next one is 5 September 2025...

This month I picked up;

The self-titled debut album from Medicine Horse (bluesy, sludgy doom from indigenous musicians)

May Our Chambers Be Full by Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou (a wonderful collab between post-rock infused folk and doomy sludge - or maybe sludgy doom)

Ne regarde plus les bombes tomber (Benefit EP) & Φ​​​α​​​λ​​​α​​​ι​​​ν​​​ο​​​μ​​​α​​​ν​​​ι​​​τ​​​ά​​​ρ​​​ι by French anarchist extreme musical collective Non Serviam (the later EP utilises sounds produced by mushrooms and whalesong, and one I came across it I couldn't not try it...!)

I'm annoyed that I can't remember where I came across this now, but this song is a banger.

uKanDanZ is a French-Ethiopian band formed in 2010, and I need to listen to more of them...
