call her superstitious or an overthinker but with how bad this recent year was she wanted to cast a protection spell for the upcoming year. as a way to defend herself and jessie from unknown and known threats. magic always needs balance, whatever may happen to them will still affect them but not as severe as it was intended to be. chrissy smiled at the vampire's complaints, she felt wanted, needed. something that rarely happens to the witch. she paused from her incantation, giving the redhead her attention. " once i am done i will give you all the kisses you desire. " she replied, winking at the other in the tree --- returning to her spell.

feeling the cool touch of jessie's fingers trail from her shoulder to her waist released some tension in her body. proving jessie's statement to be true. { oh that is not fair } she thought to herself, annoyed yet comforted by her girlfriend's touch. chrissy increased her speed of incantation, rushing to finish the spell --- after muttering the last line, all her attention went back to jessie. " okay, i'm finished with the spell. "

chrissy nodded at their request, giggling with excitement. " 10, 9, 8 ... " hands planted at each side of jessie's waist. " 7, 6 ... " chrissy observed the red-painted smile, taking in the beautiful view. " 5, 4, 3, 2 ... " happiness flushed through the witch's body, as their lips met at one. pulling her closer to her frame, never wanting this kiss to end.

the vampire sits from a tree branch , thumbing through her stack of magazines as the witch below her was working on some kind of potion or spell . she didn't know , but jessie just hoped that she would hurry up . " i don't know why this is so significant that we had to do this on new year's eve. we could be out at a bar or like , i don't know , anywhere else other than a graveyard right now. i'd be fine with even kissin' in the back of the car at the drive in." she groans , throwing the magazines down from the tree , and tilting backwards to rest her back up against the trunk .

jessie peers down at the blonde for a moment before speeding down from the tree to stand beside her . " and you're sure you don't need my help ? " the red head places her hand down on her shoulder , then letting her hand move down her arm to rest on her waist. jessie takes a gentler approach this time, sighing a bit . " you're over workin' yourself so much, take a break . it's almost the new year . " two minutes and fifty nine seconds , to be specific .

the new year means nothing to a vampire , just a change in numbers . jessie tries not to feel so upset about it , as she's only technically been dead for a year . but it was that thought of never aging , never being able to truly celebrate another year coming and going without reflecting on the fact that it'll just keep coming and going for her , and never stopping . at least for now she has chrissy , which is more than enough to keep going and see the bright side in it all . she even made her a ring to go out in the daytime , so it could be worse .

" lets at least count to the new year together . you're my date . " jessie says it like it's obvious , a small smile playing on red lips as she takes a step closer to chrissy with a giggle . " 10 , 9 , 8 . . " jessie's hand moves to play with blonde hair , twirling it around her finger . " 7 , 6 .. " jessie presses their foreheads together , emerald eyes shutting but her smile stays. "5 , 4 , 3 , 2 ... " and finishes it off with a kiss when it lands on one .
