“Specifically the colors are what I like, but trees could be sort of aesthetic too such as lots of trees together with a thick fog surrounding them. You know man, it’s artsy.”
“...Sorry, I lost interest. But I do tend to like darker colors, which I guess you can find more prominent this time of year. And fog... nice touch.”

“Trees are your aesthetic? That sounds lame...”
“I can’t wait until the trees start changing colors. Then the forest would look nice… It’s kind of my aesthetic.”

maryhook:
Mary’s lips formed a pout, unsure of whether she wanted him knowing her vulnerabilities. He could use them against her, not that he necessarily would. “I wouldn’t say I plan on running away with them, no, but I’m not a romantic. I don’t run away with anyone, but that’s not the point either. I was engaged, which you called bullshit on,” she rolled her eyes. “You said I loved you the entire time.” And then he had kissed her, and she hadn’t said anything. She hadn’t denied anything either. “Fuck you, Zai. You decide to tell me you love me after I’m with someone. That pissed me off, you couldn’t have told me before?” She narrowed her eyes at him, kicking off her shoes and crawling into the bed, turning on her side so she could see him. “You were right the whole time. And that pissed me off too.”
“Mhm...” Zaiden agreed, rolling his eyes back at her. He couldn’t disagree with anything she said, because it was all true. Still, it made him feel pretty shitty to think back on it and that whole time having had felt like she didn’t give a shit. “Even if I could have, there isn’t a way for me to turn back time, so we’re going to have to get over the fact that I didn’t.” Raising a brow at her as she climbed into the bed, Zaiden remained silent for a moment. “I’m usually always right. Get used to it.” He rolled her over and into him so that she wasn’t facing him anymore, pulling her close and wrapping his arm around her waist. “Whoever this person that you met is can kindly, fuck off,” he murmured, resting his chin against her shoulder.

“I don’t sleep because I can’t protect myself with my eyes closed. You know that. Or, you do now,” Mary rolled her eyes. It was a weakness she didn’t need anyone really knowing about. “Let’s see…Professor Plum in the library with…a candelabra. I’m not going to tell you his name, that’s not the point. The point is, I’m wondering if you care or not. I was engaged. Now I’m not. I’m normal again. And you’ve been avoiding me since your birthday.”
“I’m aware of that. I’m aware of a lot of things that you might not know about.” Zaiden could read her like an open book on some things, but others it was like reading a book with no last page. “You’re wondering... if I care or not, that you met someone... unless you’re planning on running away with this person, no, I don’t care. You’re allowed to have friends. Otherwise, I do care, and it is the point, that I get their name. I haven’t been avoiding you. You were engaged. Even when you weren’t, you were still seeing him. I’ve told you repeatedly how I feel, Mary. You won’t be straight up with me. You say one thing and do another. When I think I’ve got you figured out, you prove me wrong. So. Prove me wrong. If you love me, then get in. But only if you’re completely serious about this. Us.”

“What do you mean, you don’t sleep? I don’t sleep. I’m not in bed, you are. And just that - you do speak English, don’t you?”
“I mean I don’t sleep. I sleep around you, and occasionally at other times, but after 3am. I could ask you the same thing. Yes, I do. What do you mean, you met someone? How? When? Where? Who? And Why are you telling me this?”

“What are you, hungover? I met someone.”
“No. I didn’t sleep. I don’t sleep at night normally anyway. What do you mean, you met someone?”

“Whatever it is, it can wait until the evening, and if it can’t, then I suggest you find someone else who cares.”

“Because I’m sick and I never get sick,” Mary frowned. She wasn’t getting any better either, but maybe she hadn’t been going about it right. “No, I mean I do, I was being sarcastic. I don’t…do well with that stuff.” She would have rolled her eyes but she stopped herself, figuring he really didn’t need her attitude, for once. “So will you help me?”
“So you’re sick. That doesn’t mean you’re dying, so there is no need to be dramatic.” Raising a brow, he crossed his arms. “You do what? Know what you want? Or is there something else you have to say to me?” When she asked for his help, he wasn’t exactly sure what she wanted him to do. “Help with what, exactly?”

“Please... What makes you think that you’re dying?” Zaiden looked up at her finally, a blank expression on his face. “You might feel the same way... why am I not surprised that that’s your response? Well if you don’t know what you want then shouldn’t you hold off asking me questions? I suppose not, no. But like I said, it hasn’t.”
maryhook:
“That was back then. I’m asking now.”
“And I asked why you were asking. My answer still hasn’t changed. If you’re going to bombard me with questions, at least make them different,” Zaiden rose a brow, chuckling under his breath.

“So remember when you told me you loved me?”
“Remember when you didn’t say it back? Kidding. Sort of. Yes, I remember. Why?”

theblondefire:
“His name is Ariston. First son of Hades, God of the Underworld. Both being revenge crazed after Hercules’ family. and he’ll stop at nothing to please my father” Thea gave him the information easily, seeing as he’ll need it if she does end up trusting him. “I don’t care if you don’t trust me. I just need you to understand that I need to get them out of here as soon as my mother can get them.”
“I know him. Both your brother and your father. Bastards. So he’s back, then?” Zaiden had spoken with him before. He was well aware of who Ariston was, what he could do, and what he likely wanted. “What does your mother have to do with this? If you ask me you shouldn’t be anywhere near any of them, like I’ve already said. You should probably back off. I can handle this.”

“I give a crap, you know,” Mary shrugged her shoulders, grabbing the vegetable oil from him and pouring the correct amount in, eyeing it carefully before mixing that as well. “Bake it yourself? Do tell how that works,” she laughed, pouring the batter into a cake pan. “No, we do it the old-fashioned way. And we can think of something to do. It takes about…45 minutes. It’s your birthday, what would you like to do?” Surely there was one or two things that would make him happy, or pretend to be. “We could see Celena, if you want. Or you could, Daphne doesn’t like me much. But I’m sure she’d love to see you. That sunset isn’t too far off.” She set the cake pan in the oven carefully, burning her hand on the top of the oven in the process, a painful cry falling from her lips.
“You do realize I can light fires with my fingers, right?” Zaiden chuckled. Though it was probably better they didn’t let him try, since he’d probably just burn it. He thought to himelf for a moment when she yet again asked him what he would like to do.Truthfully Zaiden didn’t have an answer, but yet Mary would only keep asking. That’s not a bad idea, actually. Well, true, but I could convince her to let me watch her, and we can bring her back here.” When Mary burned her hand, Zaiden rushed forward, grabbing it instinctively. Squeezing it between both of his, he realized that it was going to hurt her more for a second, before it got better, and slowly he healed it. “There. Don’t ask me to do it again, because I won’t be able to. Demons can heal people, but we have to use... shortcuts... sort of. It’s complicated, but... the burn should be gone.”
