Also, in other things I play…these guys belong to the group clustered at that other beacon over there. They just decided to come along and steal my kills help me out.
I can't be mad though. How can I say no to giant tardigrades? Look at them, they just wanted to help!

Finally, chapter 7!  Thomas didn’t get to be quite so forthcoming about his personal failure in this take on events, and it wasn’t intentional- he just got sidetracked in his initial introduction.  It’s on me now to make sure he doesn’t accidentally come off as dishonest about it later...

Chapter 6!  I spent so long going “should Boldwin be this nice-sounding” before it hit me that he was in direct conversation with, and opposed to, Crestfallen, who is much more blunt, so I just rolled with it.
(Ed is brash enough for both of them anyway!)
Anyway, enjoy Zaxaria stumbling into a bit of culture shock.

...In Black
(Spoiler Warning: Demon's Souls)
The smooth stone supported the soles of her boots as they materialized on the landing before the arch stone. As she had done dozens, perhaps hundreds, of times before she turned to the left and strode down the short stairs toward the gap in the towering pillars. Her footfall echoed in the empty Nexus with only the light from the augite of souls at the hip of her tattered clothes to guide her way.
Despite the state of her attire, ragged as it was, it was valuable to the magician for her craft. But the darkness was no obstacle to the champion of Boletaria as her feet carried her without a conscious decision. The darkness did, however, obscure the presence in the corner until the guest lifted her chin to expose her pale skin to the faint orange light that her hat brim had shielded. The champion halted mid-stride, the tatters of her skirts swaying about her legs, as her stance instinctively fell into a position ready for battle.
“Blanca.” The familiar voice greeted her with warmth that melted the tension from the redhead’s posture. With a nod, Blanca sheathed both her curved sword and her off-hand flamberge in one fluid motion with the ease of long practice.
“Yuria. I did not think I would find you here.” There was a lilt of curiosity in her words that implied the unspoken question. She did not wait for formal invitation as she moved to seat herself in the same cross-legged posture beside the witch with her back to the wall.
“And yet, you approached as if expecting me. Perhaps you noticed my candles.” Yuria tilted her chin toward the small cluster of candles she had lit on the ledge to her left. Just the one, small, cluster. Far fewer than there once had been lighting this corner. Blanca followed her gaze, the softly flickering light glinting from the silver coronet across her forehead and her shining blue eyes, before she turned her face away from the light with head bowed.
“You miss her?” The witch observed as the stoic champion was not usually forthcoming; but not so difficult to read if one knew the signs. “I miss her too.” Yuria added, softly, then turned her face to look toward the center of the Nexus. “She was a reassuring presence, here, lighting the candles with her brazier staff. And, I hope it is no intrusion to say, but voices carry in this cavernous place so I did overhear your conversations. She was so dedicated to you.”
Blanca’s wine-red hair caught the candlelight as she turned her head to meet the witch’s gaze. “Of course she was. Who could do otherwise?” The side of her mouth lifted in a smirk of confident amusement. Yuria couldn’t help herself, she didn’t try, she lifted her head and revealed her pale throat as she gave an unrestrained laugh.
“Oh, Blanca. I do not know! Perhaps someone for whom you had not saved their life. Perhaps. Even then, well, I should have my doubts.” Yuria’s smile was warm and amused but her cerulean eyes remained earnest as they ever were when speaking to her savior.
The redhead nodded a few times, bowed her head as she leant back against the wall, then she looked up toward the dark chandelier hanging above. “So, you’re saying I need to stop saving people’s lives to get an honest opinion, hmm? Ah, might be a tall order, that one.” Blanca turned her head just enough to regard the witch from the corner of her eye.
Yuria shook her head but the wide brim of her hat did not hide the amused curl of her lips. “I suppose we shall never know, then.”
There’s a hum of amusement in the single word response. “Fair.”
The women sat in silence for a time. The passage of hours in this place felt easy to let slip past without notice. But, eventually, Yuria spoke softly once again. “You still have it?”
Blanca nodded and sat forward, no longer leaning against the wall, to fish a pendant from the faded yellow collar of her robes. “Yes. I had this made to contain it.” A clear bottle hung from the sturdy chain by a metal eyelet but rather than containing spice it held a set of four slowly swirling lights. Without the witch needing to speak her concerns the magician offered further explanation at the look of curious concern from Yuria. “It is secure. I took heed of your words. It shall not fall into the wrong hands. Not while I protect it.”
Yuria released tension from her shoulders that she hadn’t consciously held. “Good. That is a relief.” As Blanca slipped the pendant beneath the collar of her robe once more Yuria leant back slightly to regard her outfit. “You still choose to wear that? I am certain there are people who would gladly tailor you more fitting attire.”
Blanca leant back herself and spread her arms to show the torn yellow sleeves and the dark ratty bodice with tattered reddish skirts hanging from it. “More fitting than the robes I saved the world in? That hardly seems possible.”
Yuria breathed amusement through her nostrils before observing. “You are much more humble than you make yourself out to be, Blanca. For all your brazen comments you ask for nothing in return for all you have given us. You are allowed a little reward, you know.”
The magician smirked and paused for a moment, tilting her chin up, as she regarded the witch. “What greater reward is there than learning witchcraft, from the one and only Yuria, whenever I so should wish? That, I truly doubt, is possible.”
The witch’s hat obscured her face entirely for a moment as she bowed her head but she lifted it to meet the magician’s gaze with an unmistakable look. “You only need ask.” Blanca did not ask, for her answer was already crystal clear, as the light in Yuria’s eyes had swept from her own mind any thought of missing candles. There was no lack of light and no need for further conversation.

I’ll stop flooding the tag in a bit it’s just 1-3 has been so fun I have to share.
Tumblr media
Totally foolproof disguise. Zaxaria is absolutely a Boletarian official.
Tumblr media
What are you talking about, officials totally carry enchanted relic shields!
Tumblr media
Yep. Absolutely a legit official. Never mind the being a ghost thing.
Oh well, at least they’re not dumb enough anymore to just accept the hat alone!

About to go get Biorr, please don’t die on your patrol path now that I won’t be able to check on you by warping back here.
(Also I dropped my controller and it landed on R2 immediately after taking this, I am so sorry buddy. Promptly went to Thomas, got Storm Ruler out of storage, and went on a souls grind for the forgiveness fee. Thank you for adding that Bluepoint. Really, thank you.)

I don’t know if you’ve got that invasion yet or if someone already helped you but you can be randomly invaded in areas you’ve already completed!  Ironically enough, by setting a password.  Not the same one as the invader.  Any password at all.
Passwords bypass the area completeness (or incompleteness) requirements for multiplayer!  And Black Eyestones don’t care about passwords, either for the user or host.  I regularly just enable a password of one or two letters while farming completed levels if I find myself in body form, just in case!  In all the eligible host worlds, at least one of us enjoys fighting invaders.  I’ve even been invaded in 1-1 by NG+ players in my level range!
Here’s a video by Illusory Wall on the subject!  Password system explanation is in the timestamps but the whole thing is fascinating to me.
I don’t have a Red Eyestone yet or I would offer help directly, but I hope this is helpful! (And of course, coordinating with someone with a Red Eyestone would be easier since then you’d have someone willing to purposely lose for your character tendency)  Good luck!
Anyone here got demons souls remake and is willing to invade me and let me kill u bc no one is online anymore and I need help with getting my karma or whatever up

Got summoned into 1-3. Notice enemies are dealing more damage to me than in my own world, assume the host just has a darker tendency, since it’s not one-shot brutal or anything.
Host swaps to Demonbrandt to deal with fat officials. I don’t think anything of it.
Host rescues Ostrava. Too distracted by laughing at the poor guy getting stuck on the scenery to realize Ostrava’s presence and Demonbrandt are mutually exclusive in one cycle.
Only after I eat shit at Penetrator do I realize I was summoned into NG+.
Think I might be over leveled. I have a tendency to mess around and collect extra souls in the process. Oh well.
Bonus:

Attempt 5: player phantom.  I won!  Clever Rat’s Ring and having some kunai on hand came in handy! (the kunai were to interrupt a second casting of Second Chance, which they’d buffed with before I reached the arena; I’d taken them along because opponent 2 last time liked backing up for heals, so I took an interrupt+regen mitigation this go)  Also I got a backstab in somehow?  Maybe they lost track of me since I did my preemptive Hidden Soul in case of fog gate ambush.  Or maybe I caught them getting into position?  idk I got lucky there.  Anyway, GG person, well fought! :D  I thought I was going to die there, but being about to die gave me the boost I needed from my ring!  It was a matter of hitting before I got hit!
Zaxaria is now at pure white character tendency and, unfortunately, Latria was not at a tendency extreme.  Dark enough the red phantom face bug things showed up while I was checking on the Sodden Ring, but not dark enough for it, the primeval demon, or Rydell’s pure black event.  Was kind of hoping for the primeval demon at least, but I guess it’s tied to the extreme end.  Oh well.  Another time! (perhaps it’s best character-wise anyway, that she not accidentally trip this event for Rydell...)
Old Monk time!
Zaxaria vs. evil cloth thing, attempt 1.  You have no idea how long I’ve been looking forward to this boss in particular.  He’s such a cool concept and I have so much fun doing multiplayer things in this game.  It’s a win-win!  Well…not so much for my character…
Attempt 1: player phantom.  They managed to get me in a corner and I died.  Love the collapse gesture they did at the end.  GG katana person.  You were very patient waiting for me to climb the stairs. (also: nice try with God’s Wrath at the start.  There’s a reason I attuned Hidden Soul for this! :D  The regen aura from her blessed sword gives her away once she’s in the arena but it does make ambushes from the other side of the fog gate a little more difficult!)
Attempt 2: player phantom.  This one was fun!  It turned into a parry fight (curved sword offhand for me, shield on them).  There were so many moments where we both parried at each other, expecting an attack!  In the end, the victorious read was theirs.  GG magic/dex person!  There were a few unfortunate lag spikes but overall this one was a treat.  I’m so happy I got to practice my parry timing!
Attempt 3: player phantom.  Died due to stupid mistakes.  As in, “forgetting how I was holding my main hand weapon” stupid.  Guess I jumped in too soon after the last one and needed to mentally refocus.  GG dragon sword person, sorry I was a disappointing fight.
Attempt 4: player phantom.  What an honor this was!  I got bonked by a dragon bone smasher on fire!  GG, that was hilarious!  I love seeing that insane thing in action, and the fire buff just made it even more delightfully ridiculous.
Unfortunately, I had to cut it short here.  While the slayer of demons has all the time and as many tries as they have the willpower to handle, time marches on outside the game, and I have a job to be awake and functional for.
God, this is so fun I almost don’t want to win and move on?  I love seeing the builds everyone’s putting together!
Man, that first loss has put Latria in kind of a grim state though.  I think we’re one more body form loss away from pure black, if it’s not already there.  I’m not sure if I want to test it by checking on Sodden Ring access or on poor Rydell first…or if I avoid it all and go at the boss again.
We’ll see what happens when I play next, I guess!  I love this game.  I love this game so much.

Chapter 4 is up, mind the tags and notes (though the actual malice comes in later parts).  Shouldn’t be at this longer than 2 or 3 parts, if this kind of thing isn’t for you!

God, right? And the worst part is that Bluepoint otherwise was so heavily leaning the opposite way with their expanded character creator. Body shape, voice, walk cycles, facial hair, none of it is locked to any other option. None of it is even given a gendered label in any way!
And yet…you need to have a certain body type to equip some gear still. It’s disappointing, really. And also confusing, since some previously locked gear sets have been made unisex for the remake. Like, what happened? Did they hit a deadline? Did they just forget the ones they didn’t get to?
I feel your pain OP. At least we have our imaginations.

First play through in the demons souls remake, and i’m destroyed to find out as a man you can’t equip the adorable girly clothes you find

It’s finally mine! I thought character tendency had to be high enough for the particle effect but no, apparently “noticeably shining” is good enough for the Monumental.
